About the NEL VCSE Collaborative
The North East London (NEL) Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Collaborative works closely with the ICB to work together strategically by shaping, improving and delivering services and contributes to the system design and organisational development of the ICB, ensuring Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) contribution.
The leadership group of the seven borough representatives meets monthly and is currently working to develop a VCFSE strategy to raise the profile of the sector and support the VCFSE to work in partnership with the health system to address local health inequalities and improve the health outcomes of the communities in NEL. Purpose of the role

Key functions & Tasks (Role Description)

Person Specification
- Demonstrable understanding and experience of the current and emerging challenges and opportunities within the regional Health and Care system and the local VCFSE

- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of VCFSE and healthcare related policies with an understanding of the issues facing the VCFSE at local, regional and national level

About the Role
We are seeking to recruit a creative and ambitious Fundraising and Communications Officer.
As our reach and impact has increased significantly in recent years, so has our income, and this new role has been created in response to that demand. This is an exciting opportunity for a fundraiser who wants to widen, or consolidate, their knowledge and experience of fundraising, in an international context, as well as gain communications experience.
We are a very small team so the role will cover a breadth of funding streams, with a particular focus on Trusts and Foundations, High Value Donors, and Events, both special and community. Key Responsibilities
- Steward, retain and grow the support of our existing donor portfolio: KHULA has an existing portfolio of donors including trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors, individual and regular givers, the majority of whom are based in the UK or South Africa. Alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, the post holder will be responsible for managing these relationships, including bespoke reporting for trusts and major donors and taking responsibility for their own portfolio of donors.
- Donor prospecting and new business: researching and generating new donor leads as well as acting on opportunities provided by our Board and others, converting prospects into supporters of our programmes.
- External communications: working alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, assisting in the creation of our quarterly e-newsletter and the Annual Report, managing our social media channels, in addition to other ad hoc external communications.
- Events: supporting our community and events fundraisers and assisting with the organisation of occasional special events, alongside Board members.

The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial manager with a high level of data literacy. We are looking for someone strategic, highly organised and a strong people and team manager. They will be confident at communicating data in a variety of ways to a large range of audiences, identifying key take-aways and the broader implications of the findings on our clients and programming. AFH has taken a leadership role on advocacy for the ongoing conflict in Gaza and has a long history of being a thought leader on the humanitarian crisis in Syria. In order to help achieve this goal, AFH is recruiting an Advocacy & Policy Manager, where the successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Communications, manage and strengthen AFH’s advocacy campaigns, and develop and build networks to support our advocacy efforts. What we are looking for in our Advocacy & Policy Manager:
Education
- Degree (or equivalent) in relevant field i.e., International Development, International Relations, Public Relations, Economics, Politics.
- Evidence of sector-specific continuous professional development.
Experience
- Strong experience and track record in an advocacy or similar role.
- Experience in building strong relations and networking with key staff within various UN agencies, especially I/NGO, Forums, UN, OCHA meetings and with local ones.
- Collaborating in multi-national organisational problem solving, operations in complex organisations.
- Active participation with I/NGO Forums desirable.
- Understanding of UK political and media landscape.

Role Overview
- You will be responsible for the operational delivery of on-air fundraising appeals, including briefing documents, promotional materials, and donation incentives.

- You will be a key contributor to Premier’s on-air fundraising programme, overseeing monthly on-air fundraising messaging, script writing, production, and traffic scheduling.
- You will contribute ideas for capturing audience data and oversee the execution of on-air data capture campaigns.
- The role requires liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of fundraising appeals, compliance with Ofcom regulations, and maintaining Premier's commitment to quality and equality.

The roots of today's charity grew from one shop, on Battersea Park Road, opened in 1992. The shop's objective was to raise funds to support the Wandsworth Oasis AIDS Care Centre. As we grew, our trading charity was formally set up and from there other shops were opened.
