Overview of the Chief Executive Role
Key Responsibilities:

- Overall responsibility for designing, implementing, and evaluating programmes, and services, to ensure they meet the needs of members.
- Providing leadership to the senior management team, encouraging a positive workforce culture, and a high-performing team.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven strategic leadership skills, either within the public or private sector.
- Experience of operational management, including budgetary responsibilities, commercial contract management, and the ability to influence, network, and raise the profile of an organisation.
- An empathetic individual, with an understanding of the challenges that veterans may face including wellbeing, mental health, homelessness, and addiction, and a passion for the purpose of Veterans Foundation.
- Previous exposure to fundraising operations, including diversifying income generation streams, developing relationships with potential donors, and raising the profile of the organisation.

An extraordinary opportunity has come up to lead The Resilience Project’s next phase of growth. From start-up to scale-up, TRP is now looking for a dynamic leader to develop our offerings and oversee our international operations. The CEO will provide strategic leadership and direction to The Resilience Project, ensuring the organisation achieves its mission and strategic goals. This role is a unique blend of internally and externally focused responsibilities. For the latter, working alongside our Founder, you will act as the face of the organisation, building partnerships, securing funding, and ensuring that our programs continue to deliver exceptional impact. For the former, working alongside our COO, you will oversee the financial health of the organisation, iterate scaling infrastructure strategy and foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, joy and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Focus on scaling and strengthening The Resilience Project, particularly developing alternative revenue generating pathways, key partnerships and long-term sustainable funding mechanisms. From this, develop and implement a long-term strategy that aligns with the organisation’s mission, vision, and values. Lead the organisation in responding to emerging challenges and opportunities in climate justice, youth mental health, and resilience-building. Embody and model our values of courage, care, co-design, community, joy and inclusivity.
- Organisational Development: Build and nurture a high-performing team of international staff and volunteers. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and empowering organisational culture. Work closely with the Senior Board to ensure effective governance and accountability.
- Financial Management: Working with the Finance and Fundraising Lead, develop and oversee budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and smooth cashflow. Diversify income streams through grants, partnerships, donations, and other revenue opportunities. Lead in the development and creation of additional revenue opportunities.
- Programme Oversight: Working with the Programmes Office, ensure the continued delivery and development of impactful initiatives such as the Resilience Fellowship Programme, community Programmes and workshops. Monitor and evaluate programme impact to ensure quality, effectiveness and relevance to the youth climate justice movement. Oversee our international expansion, leading on risk assessment and ensuring any development promotes sensitivity, inclusion, co-design and resilience.
- Partnerships and Advocacy: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, partners, and youth organisations. Act as an ambassador for The Resilience Project, advocating for youth empowerment and climate resilience on national and international platforms.
- Communications and Fundraising: Oversee the organisation’s communications and marketing strategy to enhance visibility and engagement. Lead fundraising efforts to secure the resources necessary to achieve the organisation’s goals.
- Line Management: Act as line manager to Finance and Fundraising Lead, and Marketing and Communications Lead, overseeing workflow and monthly wellbeing check-ins.

You will report to the Board. As part of this role, you will lead the charity’s mission to support clinical pharmacy education, through overseeing the quality of lecture production, leveraging expertise in pharmacy, and securing partnerships for the training programme. Key goals include ensuring the strategic planning and implantation of the e-learning programme, and developing relationships with partners such as universities. Sitting within the Chief Executive’s Office, this new position of CEO Office Executive will play a key role in delivering high quality, proactive administrative support to our Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees. They will be carrying out key administrative duties within the team, predominantly in executive support but also more widely across governance, strategy and internal communications.
Reporting to the Head of Governance, they will be a key member of the Governance and Executive Support team, enabling members of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Senior Team to carry out their roles efficiently and to support delivery of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s strategy.
This role is also available for those looking for part time working with a minimum of 28 hours.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Administrative support
To provide proactive and high-quality administrative support to enable our Senior Team to carry out their roles effectively, to include:
· Assist the Executive Support team in providing administrative support to the Chief Executive and other Executive Directors as required.
· Arrange and attend meetings across Alzheimer’s Research UK, which may include taking and issuing minutes, drafting agendas, collating and distributing papers as appropriate, locating suitable meeting venues, room reservations and refreshments.
· Filter general information, queries, telephone calls, emails, and invitations received for the senior leadership team by redirecting to an appropriate point of contact.
· Ensure travel arrangements, including international travel, are managed effectively and within budget, including booking travel and accommodation, producing a detailed travel itinerary, arranging currency and visa requirements.
· Complete expense claims, ensuring receipts are obtained and expenses are claimed in accordance with the relevant policy.
Governance, internal communications and strategy
· Work with the Governance team to support delivery of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s governance arrangements including preparation for meetings, management of meeting logistics including locating suitable meeting venues, room reservations and refreshments and general support as required.
· Help maintain a calendar of activity within the CEO Office to support the prioritisation and preparation ahead of engagement opportunities for Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Senior Team.
· Conduct research and information gathering to support project planning and decision making.
· Learn how to use / and be proactive in using the organisation's CRM system (Salesforce) to record key activity for the CEO Office Team.
· Support the internal comms team in their aim to make all employees feel connected to the organisation and their colleagues. This could include supporting the preparation and delivery of employee events, assisting with the collation of information for regular, all-employee comms, such as the monthly all-employee meetings and the monthly CEO newsletter, and helping to promote the CEO Office via Internal Comms.
· Work with the Director of Strategy and Governance to provide support on key priority projects relating to strategy delivery.
· Help arrange and service CEO Office team activities throughout the year.

Job description
To provide executive assistance and support to enable the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team to work more effectively. This will include support on organisational governance, including the effective operation of the Board of Trustees and its associated subgroups and to act as a key conduit for external communication with the Chief Executive, the Director of Development and External Affairs and other directors – specifically in relation to our policy and influence work.
Pay and conditions
• The role is a permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week). Option for applicants to propose part-time hours – more information can be found on ‘Information for applicants’ document.
• The salary for the role will be £34,788 - £41,669, the applicant should expect to find themselves towards the middle of the range following successful completion of their 6-month probationary period.
• You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
• Undertake a variety of tasks to manage demand and help prioritise the CEO’s time, including proactive diary management, managing emails, composing and preparing (sometimes confidential) correspondence, arranging travel and briefing on upcoming commitments and responsibilities in advance of meetings.
• Similarly, provide support to the Director of Development & External Affairs and other directors in managing external contacts associated with our policy and influence work, including scheduling, supporting and arranging travel for external meetings with government officials, MPs and partners, and assisting in responding to (sometimes confidential) correspondence.
• Support the CEO in managing the Board of trustees and its two subgroups (Finance subgroup and the People Sub-group). This will include supporting the CEO in forward planning and agenda setting for meetings, scheduling meetings, confirming attendees, organising catering, supporting the CEO and Directors in the preparation of papers, ensuring meetings run smoothly as hybrid format and minute taking.
• Supporting the Director of Finance and Operations (who is currently Company Secretary) to ensure statutory Centre for Sustainable Energy 2024 registers (for Companies House and the Charity Commission) are maintained and statutory returns and forms are filed in a timely manner to ensure legal and regulatory compliance (including collecting required annual returns from all directors and trustees).
• Support the CEO and chair of trustees in ensuring the development and maintenance of good governance practice, including regular Trustee skills audits, Trustee recruitment, induction & training, maintenance of trustee tenures and review of relevant governing documents including Board and Sub-group Terms of Reference documents.

Essential attributes for this role include:
• Excellent IT skills, using all elements of Microsoft Office 365 or equivalent, including Sharepoint and Teams.
• Skilled in building relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, external partners.
• Skilled problem solver, able to anticipate needs and think critically/ laterally. Understanding senior management priorities, thinking ahead and anticipating needs.
• Knowledge and understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Trustees board of a charity, in relation to those of a senior executive team.
• Experience of supporting senior management to manage their workloads, diary management, minuting meetings, handling confidential information with discretion, drafting executive papers, etc.
• Significant experience of managing a demanding and fast-paced workload, sometimes with competing demands and deadlines.

About King's Head Theatre
King’s Head Theatre is a purpose-built, wheelchair accessible theatre with a 200-seat flexible auditorium and 50-seat cabaret space off Upper St, Islington which showcases a wide range of performance styles from plays to musicals, to opera & cabaret, to drag & comedy.
Established in 1970, King’s Head Theatre was the oldest pub theatre in the UK until it closed its doors in August 2023. For 53 years the theatre was housed in the back room of the King’s Head Pub on Upper Street in an old boxing ring and pool hall, before opening the new space in Islington Square right behind the pub theatre in January 2024.
Under Artistic Director & Founder Dan Crawford, whose tenure lasted 35 years until his death in 2005, the theatre became known as a breeding ground for new talent and great work. Renowned actors like Maureen Lipman, Hugh Grant, Jennifer Saunders, Dawn French, Alan Rickman & Richard E Grant all performed at the theatre, and a number of productions transferred to the West End and Broadway, premiering work from writers such as Steven Berkoff, Tom Stoppard, Bryony Lavery and Victoria Wood.
In 2010, the Olivier Award-winning company Opera UpClose Productions became the theatre’s resident company for four years, and with Adam Spreadbury-Maher as Artistic Director, turned the King’s Head into “London’s Little Opera House”, winning an Olivier Award for La Boheme in the Best New Opera category. Opera remains a key part of the theatre’s focus, alongside a commitment to emerging, daring and innovative work, such as Trainspotting, the Edinburgh Fringe and touring immersive hit developed by King’s Head Theatre.
The theatre showcases a lot of LGBTQ+ work which explores the full spectrum of experiences symbolised by the rainbow flag. It is a home for a new wave of theatre makers, with a focus on work which is joyful, irreverent, colourful & queer.
In the first year of the new King’s Head, the theatre has showcased work from artists such as Rob Madge, Luke Bayer, Olivier award-winner Shaun McKenna, triple Fringe First winners Xhloe & Natasha, Heartstopper’s Cormac Hyde-Corrin, Neil Ashton and writer Jonathan Maitland. About the Role
The Senior Finance Officer role is an exciting opportunity to join one of Londons leading Off West End Theatres. As a registered charity, we are looking for a candidate with finance experience as well as an enthusiasm for the arts. The Senior Finance Officer will be responsible for the financial and office administration of the charity.
They will be the lead finance officer, managing all budgets, issuing settlements, working with the auditors on statutory accounts and reporting to the Executive Producer (acting CEO) and board on finance matters. They will also lead on administration, processes, policies, and office management for the organisation.

Prospectus is delighted to be partnering with an independent grant-making charity based in London to recruit for a permanent CEO to lead them on a part time basis (0.6 FTE / 22.5hours per week). This is a stand-alone position, with no staff to manage. The role is predominantly a home-based role however it will require local travel to attend meetings at Heathrow and in the surrounding boroughs.
The purpose of the role is to own, develop and deliver against their strategy. The CEO will ensure the successful day-to-day running of the operations and ensuring it maximises its impact. The successful candidate will have proven leadership experience from within a charity, not-for-profit or business environment and will bring a passion for working in the charity sector and supporting the local community. A self-starter, you will have demonstrable experience of building strong relationships and partnerships with a variety of organisations such as not-for-profits and corporates. You will have the ability to present to the Board of Trustees when required and be confident liaising with senior level stakeholders. You will have a good understanding of budgeting and financial management to ensure financial sustainability and the overall smooth running of the charity.

You will be pivotal in overseeing the provision of administrative support within the charity as a whole and act as the Board Secretary. Within this role you will organise Board meetings and all associated papers for meetings, including agendas and minutes.
