For 40-years, School-Home Support has been working with children, families and schools to break the cycle of poor school attendance, low education attainment, anti-social behaviour, crime, low paid or no job, generation after generation. We are very proud of the work we do to support getting children and young people back into school, ready to learn, whatever it takes.
This is a new role in our People team and we are looking for an energetic and dependable People Operations & Systems Manager to work closely with our Head of People and Culture, to help implement best people strategies and practices to secure a sustainable organisational culture. You must possess significant HR management experience (3-years in similar role) to continuously track the department’s efforts and target its goals. This role reports into the Head of People & Culture and is a mixture of remote working and office based.
You will be liaising with all colleagues on HR practices and school and regional based practitioners; together with all Line Managers. Setting goals for people operations deliverables to track the department’s outputs and goals in line with our vision and values. Supervising and managing the people administrator and the L&D Advisor to manage the following:
- Reviewing and approving necessary modifications to the people operations department’s efforts from time to time.
- Overseeing specific tasks such as the full recruitment procedure, together with the People administrator.
- Full responsibility for payroll management; together with Finance and outsourced payroll bureau.
- Responsible for all our People HR/Training/ATS systems to ensure they are managed effectively and fit for purpose.
- Responsible for employee engagement and retention, employee satisfaction, and performance management.
- Ensuring that there is a healthy environment for all our employees to work in and that the people department’s workflow is efficient and compliant, at all times.
- Ensuring that DBS management is up to date; liaising with the safeguarding teams with any updates on DBS processes.
- Updating and implementing people policies, and managing the full employee life cycle administrative requirements
- Managing all ER delivery to ensure dispute management is maintained.
- Maintaining disciplines such as legislative regulations and guidelines.
- Develop a positive working environment, encouraging a proactive approach to people's wellbeing and leading the local Wellbeing Forum initiatives
- Be responsible for and drive improvement in diversity, inclusion and engagement.
- Be accountable for talent planning, succession, assessments and HR processes that drive a high performing team
- Provide general day to day HR support on operational issues
- Supporting Group HR Projects/Initiatives
Experience & Skills:
- CIPD qualified (desirable or equivalent experience)
- Experience in a charitable organisation would be beneficial, but not essential

The "Be Kind to Your Mind (BK2YM)" service provides evidence-based mental health support to school- and college-aged Children and Young People, staff, young adults, families, and other professionals within the London Boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham.
Be Kind to Your Mind (BK2YM) is a non-clinical, mental health and wellbeing offer delivered by HFEH MIND Youth Services. BK2YM’s non-clinical interventions and psychoeducation programme (Learn Well) offers a multitiered level of support:
- Preventative and early intervention for children and young people aged 5 – 25 through HFEH Mind Psychoeducation Workshops and assemblies.
- Training for school staff and other professionals.
- Therapeutic Arts intervention (x6 sessions) for students.
- Access to a digital support tool (self-help): WYSA.

Key Responsibilities

The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support young people when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for young people, every step of the way.
This role sits within our children and families directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for young people who urgently need support. Your role will be to help us maintain and develop innovative practice to support our work in our services within the Essex area.
We wish to recruit 2 Substance Misuse Practitioners to join our established Essex Young Peoples Drug and Alcohol Team (EYPDAS) supporting young people aged 8-25 who are using or misusing substances.
You will provide direct therapeutic support to vulnerable young people, vulnerable young adults and families who are affected by substance use.
Support offered will include one to one face to face interventions, targeted group work & online support across the County. You may also facilitate training around substances for statutory and voluntary agencies across the County.
The young people will require a skilled practitioner who is experienced in working with hard to reach, vulnerable young people at risk and using trauma informed therapeutic approaches. You should have experience of facilitating groups with knowledge of the issues and legislation affecting young people who are using or misusing substances.
What we are looking for...
-You will have substantial experience in working with vulnerable young people either in a paid or unpaid capacity. To be able to evidence your ability to build positive relationships with groups of young people to raise awareness about substance use and the associated risks and impact.
-You will have experience of carrying out individual and group work interventions with young people & adults.
-You will have experience in using Microsoft Office Applications and other relevant data systems.
-You can demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative as well as be able to contribute to a multi-agency approach so as to enable effective interventions with young people, including delivering training to a range of professionals.
-You hold a full UK drivers license and have access to you own transport.

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus.
Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We have three clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley and High Wycombe, and we are currently setting up a fourth clinic in Gateshead and a fifth in Redbridge. Each clinic is a local CIO which runs in partnership with Growing Hope and the local church. We have worked with over 700 children, young people, parents, carers and siblings since we launched. As a national charity Growing Hope has trained over 500 professionals & parents. We are continuing to expand, with the set-up of further local clinics on the horizon.

This role will report to the CEO of the charity and will work closely as part of the Senior Leadership team. The Director of Growth will have oversight of Fundraising, Communications, Marketing and Clinic Growth within the charity. Main Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and Management:
- Working as part of the Senior Leadership team to strategically support the running of the charity.
- Providing line management for the Fundraising Manager, Executive Assistant and other potential members of the team as the charity grows.
- Leading and participating in prayer and worship with the team in line with Growing Hope’s Christian values.
- Ownership of income raising of £710,000 for the national charity with a view to growth each year. In addition to this an income of approximately £100,000 for each local clinic and ensuring that income targets are met across the national and local charities.
Fundraising Strategy & Finance:
- Lead the development and execution of long-term financial plans in close alignment with the charity’s strategic goals from a Fundraising perspective.
- Reporting monthly to the Growing Hope senior team and trustee board on income, forecasts and plans to hit income targets.
- Manging the fundraising, marketing and communications budget lines.
- Oversee the process of forecasting and planning income for analysis of the leadership team and Board of Trustees.
- Support fundraising strategy development and long term planning for growth.
- Explore and implement strategies for ensuring best use of charitable funds, and maintaining financial sustainability.
- Explore and implement innovative strategies to ensure that Growing Hope are raising funds as effectively as possible at both a national and a local level.
Marketing and Communication:
- Overseeing and developing Marketing and Communication strategy across the charity, including PR development, socials and internal and external communications.
- Oversight of projects and campaigns running across Growing Hope.
- Promoting the Growing Hope brand both internally and externally.

Title: Male Residential Support Worker (this is a live-in role)

Responsible for: Young people living in the accommodation (4 young people aged 16 – 18 years old seeking asylum in the UK).
Location: This is a live-in, residential role based in a supported accommodation home in Loughborough. Some work will be based in our office buildings.

Overall Purpose
To provide advice, assistance and support to young people in the home, as a key member of the Support Team, delivering Baca’s service in line with our Vision and Values. The role includes a consistent adult presence in the home. To attend to their practical and emotional needs whilst supporting the development of living skills. To teach them how to manage and look after a home in order to keep it safe and hygienic. To build trusting relationships within the home to enable young people to feel safe and cared for. To act as an excellent role model and to work closely with them and their Support Worker to enable them to make good progress towards independence.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome newly arrived young people into the accommodation, helping them feel safe and able to rest; with compassion without discrimination of age, race, colour or behavioural issues.
- Actively support young people to make progress and develop in the following outcomes; physical wellbeing and emotional wellbeing; personal safety; education and learning; employment and training that is safe and suitable; social engagement (being part of the community and activities outside of the home)
- Be an excellent and positive role model, offering advice, guidance and assistance and consistently modelling behaviours in line with Baca’s values.
- Using Baca’s progress plan, train all young people in living skills and looking after a home such as washing, personal safety, cleaning, cooking and food safety, food shopping and budgeting.
- Providing emotional support at times of difficulty, anxiety or stress.
- Encourage young people settle into and support them to maintain a healthy routine which will include regularly attending education and social activities.
- Act as a co-keyworker for the young people to ensure that their support plans and progress are up to date and that all their needs are being met.
- Enable young people to live with positive values and good boundaries by challenging any unhelpful or unsafe behaviours and encouraging safe and positive behaviours.
- In accordance with the guidelines on Safeguarding and Health and Safety policies, to accept responsibility for working within these guidelines and report any concerns.
- Work collaboratively with the rest of the Rebuild Team to ensure all young people are safeguarded and supported to rebuild their lives.
- Take responsibility for keeping the home clean, by consistently role modelling to and training young people.

- Complete and update all admin work as part of the role such as month end reports and support plans on time and in a consistent manner.

Just for Kids Law (JfKL) works with and for children and young people to hold those with power to account and fight for wider reform. They do this by providing legal representation and advice, strategic litigation, campaigning, and equipping others to work for children’s rights.
They’ve achieved some incredible reforms that make a big difference to the lives of children and young people, including changes to the law on criminal records, which resulted in thousands of young people not being held back from fulfilling their potential, and ensuring that 17-year-olds are always treated as children in police custody. Youth Café
The Youth Café is our flagship project and is a fun open access drop-in run by our team after school at our social enterprise café - The Hideaway. - Helping to create a safe, fun and inspiring environment for the young people that attend.
- Planning, preparing and delivering quality youth sessions/workshops.

YMCA West Sussex Transitional Housing provides safe, secure accommodation for young people aged 18-25, who have been, or are at risk of homelessness. Our staff team comprises of Supported Housing Support Workers, Housing Mobile Night Workers and two Supported Housing Managers. We offer a support package alongside the accommodation to actively encourage residents into education, training, employment or voluntary work.

You will have your own caseload of residents, working creatively and effectively alongside young people to develop their assets and talents and to acquire the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives. You will contribute to the smooth and safe running of the service by providing consistency and reliability. You will have a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations. You will also support young people to safeguard themselves against abuse and risk. There will be times when lone working will be a requirement for this role.
This role is based on site in Horsham and will cover Transitional services across Horsham, Crawley, Burgess Hill and Worthing. Your working hours will be Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

This is a dynamic and varied role; you will be passionate about being involved in the support and growth of young people and will be able to actively encourage residents into education, training, and employment.
Ideally, you will have knowledge and experience of working with young people, knowledge of housing and welfare benefits, along with an awareness of all aspects of safeguarding. You will already be a team player but also able to work on your own initiative, along with clear verbal and written communication skills, good IT skills.
It is essential that you hold a current driving license and have access to a car for this role.
