Barnardo's Community Wellbeing Team offers an exciting opportunity to join an established service who are supporting children and young poeple who are experiencing difficulties with their emotional health and wellbeing. The Community Wellbeing Teamare funded by the Surrey Wellbeing Partnership and work in partnership with Mindworks (Formally Camhs) . 

Barnardo's Community Wellbeing Team offers support to children and young people through both 1:1 interventions and group work. The Wellbeing Mentors use a strength based approach to work alongside young poeple to support their emotional wellbeing and mental health. Support is offered throughout the community, in family homes, online, schools and public places. The service provides support to children and young poeple who reside throughout Surrey in the following counties; Waverley, Surrey Heath, Woking and Spelthorne,  therefore a full UK driving licence and access to your own car is a must for this role. 

Due to the nature of this work you will hold a small caseload of children and young people which will enable you to build good relationships with the families and through your support will help them effect meaningful change.

You will have experience of working with children and young people and will be required to deliver direct interventions with a range of difficulties and needs. 

You will have a good understanding of emotional literacy and feel confident in supporting children and young people through the use of various therapeutic interventions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, dynamic and friendly team where you will have the opportunity to expand and share your skills and experience within a supportive environment. The service sits within a locality with numerous other services further enhancing the learning opportunities and skill sharing with those supporting Children, Young People and families in different ways.

This role is  for 29.6 hours.

Essential for the role:

Ability to work independently and part of a team.

Good written and verbal use of the English Language.

About the role:

This role is based in Rochdale Police station along with some hybrid working, you must be prepared to travel across the borough of Rochdale.

As a CYP IDVA you will deliver specialist and enhanced support to Children and Young People aged 4-17 who have experienced Domestic Violence Abuse in the home. You will be responsible for providing high quality interventions to children & young people affected by DVA through the development of individually tailored & risk assessed support and safety plans. You will offer support through one-to-one sessions to address issues of self-esteem, manage emotions and feelings of blame and responsibility with the aim to improve understanding of abusive behaviour, healthy relationships and conflict resolution.

You will need:

To conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments and ensure each CYP receives an individual tailored support package that fully meets their identified needs, including safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.

To advocate on behalf of children and young people with experience of domestic abuse to ensure the diverse needs of children and young people using the service are met.

Provide one to one support to children and young people living in families affected by domestic abuse.

The ability to review the assessment of risk on an ongoing basis, ensuring appropriate and immediate action is taken in respect of any CYP facing significant harm, making the necessary referrals to MARAC and local safeguarding processes as required given the legal framework relating to the protection of children and the policy and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Children's Board.

To establish links with relevant statutory partners in Social Care, Education, Health, Police and Housing, with the intention of supporting children and young people who have been impacted by domestic abuse. Attend meetings as required.

Ideally a background in Social Worker, Domestic Abuse or Children & Young People services would be advantageous.

The Role

The Senior Secondary Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting young people affected by the Grenfell tragedy. Working with families, schools, alternative provisions, and colleges, you will help identify individual needs and develop tailored solutions. You will also act as a liaison between families and schools, advocating for children’s needs and ensuring trauma-informed education practices are implemented.

You will:

• Manage and supervise the Primary Specialist and Careers Coordinator, ensuring high standards of support for children, families, and schools.
• Oversee complex cases and provide guidance to team members to embed best practices.
• Conduct baseline assessments and work directly with children and young people to understand their specific needs.
• Provide trauma-informed guidance on the impact of trauma on learning and behaviour, offering strategies for emotional regulation and academic success.

About You

About the Organisation

The Grenfell Education Hub will open later this year to serve those most affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. The hub will provide educational support to children and young people, their families, and local schools.

Following a consultation process in 2023 and 2024, the hub will bring together a team of professionals, including four specialist teachers, an Educational Psychologist, a Speech and Language Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, a Careers Coordinator, and a Family Support Worker. Their time will be split between direct work with children and families in the hub and supporting local schools. The hub’s objectives are to:

About the role:

This part-time role is an enhancement to the existing One-Stop-Shop (OSS) with a specific focus on families, which brings together a range of organisations to work together in one location to offer advice and services to victims and survivors of domestic abuse. Currently the service operates 1 -2 day per week, offering specialist multi-agency support and with this enhancement of provision, this will enable an increase in the days the OSS is open and available, including the OSS Co-ordinator also being based in a greater variety of locations such as family hubs.

The One Stop Shop Coordinator will coordinate a range of organisations e.g. solicitors, housing, by-and-for organisations, DWP to work together in one location to offer advice and support service to victim survivors of domestic abuse. Their interaction with families will include being the first point of contact for families when they are entering the OSS, advising mothers of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies and direct them to the most appropriate service and, proactively assessing the needs and safety of children and women to ensure that any risks/needs identified are addressed.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the One Stop Shop Co-ordinator you will need the below experience and skills:

A thorough understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence (physical, emotional and sexual violence, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families and communities.

Knowledge and understanding of the needs of women and children who are or have experienced domestic abuse and the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group including, education, confidence and relationship building.

Experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a

range of stakeholders as well as experience of working within in multi-agency environment.

The ability to build and maintain a welcoming and safe environment where women, young people and community representatives can access support and make new connections.

Ability to develop and implement efficient administration processes for the smooth running of the OSS.

Oaklands & St Kilda is a pair of 6 unit supported accommodation mental health rehab services working with young people between the ages of 18-25 who may have experienced a mental health related hospital admission to gain and develop skills for future independent living. The service will support individuals transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult services.

This role consists of three weekly shifts from 22:00 to 08:00, with double cover for each shift.

What you'll do:
- Building supportive, trusting relationships with young people and creating a positive atmosphere
- Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities

Education Delivery Specialists are the front-line delivery posts for all programmes, leading workshops, training peer educators and mentoring ambassadors across the country. You will be committed to equality with the skills to engage 9 to 15-year-olds through learning and empowerment. You will join a dedicated team, passionate about young people, and committed to empowering them to challenge prejudice.

Key responsibilities

• Programme Delivery: You will plan and deliver educational programmes for young people (ages 9-15) focused on challenging prejudice, empowering them with knowledge and skills. You will book programmes into schools, maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, and lead workshops and online sessions. You will prioritise equality and diversity, emphasising inclusive educational activities and impact.
• Training, Mentoring and Support: You will train young people as peer educators and Ambassadors to disseminate anti-prejudice messages effectively, and provide mentoring, offering support and guiding them.
• Events: You will organise events, study trips, and projects with Ambassadors and communities, working to targets, curriculum, and quality standards. You will monitor and evaluate activities, maintaining records.
• Database and Fundraising Support: You will maintain comprehensive records on the Trust's databases and contribute occasionally to fundraising efforts, such as grant applications and supporting at donor events.

The Education Delivery Specialist will have substantial experience of running learning activities with groups of young people, including aged 9-15 years, and experience of engaging with and meeting the needs of disadvantaged young people. You will also have experience of providing pastoral/emotional support, working successfully as part of a team, and keeping records and writing reports. You will have knowledge of best practice in teaching and/or youth empowerment, as well as be familiar with the needs and issues of young people. You will understand and have ideas about how to challenge prejudice, and an understanding of safeguarding. You will be highly organised, with excellent administration skills, and able to build and maintain effective relationships. You will use your initiative, creativity, and energy to solve problems and develop new ways of working. You will have an inspiring presentation style with warm, professional interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about Anne Frank and the work of the Anne Frank Trust UK.

The role is home-based within the Essex region or in East London (Colchester or Southend are preferred). Ideally you will have access to appropriate working space which can be discussed at interview. There will be frequent local and regional travel and occasional UK-wide travel and overnight stays. Expenses are covered and time off in lieu is given for evening and weekend work. You will have a current valid UK driving licence and access to a car. The role is subject to an advanced DBS check on appointment, and references.

Key Responsibilities:

• To develop, implement and manage regional (community) fundraising the associated income and expenditure budgets, ensuring that all budget targets are achieved 
• To evaluate regional fundraising plans on a regular basis and make changes when necessary
• To cultivate relationships with existing individuals, fundraising committees, businesses, schools and community groups by executing exemplary, personalised stewardships in order to maximise fundraising income, and to ensure their life long support.

Do you want to work with multiple award-winning charity, FoodCycle? This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for food and community to be a part of FoodCycle’s after-school community meal projects. As Schools Coordinator, you will coordinate and deliver weekly family meals at your allocated schools (2-3 evenings per week) as well as coordinate all aspects of the projects, from volunteer management to food surplus supply.​

Our after-school community meals will be spaces where families of school children can gather at the end of the school day to enjoy a free nutritious meal and be among the school community. With the support of our National Schools & Franchise Manager you will manage local relationships with schools, community partners, supermarkets and volunteer recruitment channels to enable our meals to happen each week

As a can-do person and excellent communicator, you will manage the volunteers at each project ensuring they are trained, supported and on-message with FoodCycle strategy. You will have previously worked with primary school-aged children or families, in school or other setting. There will be frequent travel within Central Region (Initially focused in Birmingham/West Midlands), with evening work required. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this rewarding role.​
