Job description

We’re looking for a passionate Senior Youth Worker to join our amazing team and make it possible for girls, young women, non-binary and trans young people to create their own hopeful futures, free from violence and harm.

You will be embedded within our award-winning creative spaces, working directly with girls, young women, non-binary and trans young people to imagine and achieve change for themselves and their communities. You will be exceptional at building trusted relationships, committed to anti-oppressive behaviours and practice, full of creative energy and passionate about supporting young people in creating their own hopeful futures, free from violence and harm.

This post is exciting, challenging and varied. You will be responsible for directly supporting, safeguarding and empowering young people to imagine and achieve change for themselves and their communities. You will be exceptional at building trusted relationships with young people - ensuring they’re voices are centred at all times. You must be committed to anti-oppressive behaviours and practice as part of your active solidarity with marginalised, minoritised and racialised people.

BENEFITS

  • 28 days paid annual leave per year, excluding bank holidays.
  • 2 paid ‘Celebration days’ a year to be taken at any point in the calendar year
  • Access to staff wellbeing and away days throughout the year
  • A £500 annual training budget and 2 hours a month ringfenced for a wellbeing activity of your choice
  • Clinical supervision provided during working hours.
  • Access to regular internal learning and reflective spaces, including training via our own workforce and external partners.
  • Enhanced Employee Assistance Programme including access to 24/7 helpline, counselling and home & work life assistance
  • Up to 3% contribution to your pension.
  • A workplace culture that invests and cares for our staff which is reflected in our policies.
  • Access to events and networks via our relationships with progressive partners across the sector and the creative industries.

This post holder will be responsible for supporting young women, non-binary and trans young people who are most at risk of violence, abuse and exploitation, which disproportionately impacts upon racialised people and those whose identities are marginalised.  Therefore we specifically welcome applicants who share these experiences, hold a deep understanding of and stand in solidarity with marginalised, minoritised and racialised people.

The closing date for this role is noon on Friday 29th November 2024.

For more information please download our recruitment pack which can be found via our website under the 'Work for Us' section.

We can only consider candidates who have the right to work in the UK and you must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and reference checks.
