About the Angelou Centre
The Angelou Centre is a Black-led women’s organisation committed to empowering Black and racially minoritised women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. Our refuge provides trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and holistic support to help survivors heal, recover, and rebuild their lives.
As we grow and expand our refuge provision, we are looking for a dedicated Refuge Manager to oversee our safe accommodation services, including emergency housing, move-on accommodation, and specialist provisions for women with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF).
Role Overview
The Refuge Manager will lead a team of Senior advocates and House Support Workers, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed support is provided to residents. The post-holder will ensure that the refuge operates in compliance with all statutory requirements, housing regulations, and health & safety standards. They will also be responsible for property management, working closely with landlords, housing associations, and local authorities.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced housing professional with a strong understanding of domestic abuse support services, safeguarding practices, and compliance obligations within the social housing sector.

East Sussex Transitional Housing is a low-support service, providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for 102 young people between the ages of 18-25 who have been, or are, at risk of homelessness. We have a small, supportive, and established team which manages 19 housing properties across, Eastbourne, Bexhill and Hastings. We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures.
We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our East Sussex Transitional team. You will be based at the YMCA office in Eastbourne but will be visiting our seven properties around Eastbourne each week, meeting with residents in their homes and at the office - main areas of responsibilities are:
Housing
- You will hold a caseload of young people who are housed across our sites with the support of the team.Support provided is light touch, and a good knowledge of partner agencies is essential for relevant signposting
- Interview young people to assess their suitability for our housing
- Support young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules in preparation for independent living.Helping young people navigate shared living skills is key to this role and includes facilitating house meetings, rotas and cleaning sessions
- Support young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent and liaise with housing benefit
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people
- Complete Occupancy Sign up and induction with incoming residents
- Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent, ASB or breaches of Health and Safety, using restorative practices
- Contribute to maintaining properties to a high standard including conducting health and safety checks
Support and Engagement
- Light touch support to residents, signposting to partner agencies as appropriate
- Support each resident to develop their own person-centred Support Plan with short- and long-term goals to work towards independent living skills and their next accommodation steps
- Arrange Review Meetings with young people at least once every 3 months to update and review risk assessments and support plans
- Check in with each resident at least once a week
- Encourage a culture of education, employment and engagement
- Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries
- Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance)
General
- Work as part of a team

Could you bring the problem solving skills and inspiring approach needed to a vital rapid response service for women experiencing homelessness in Bristol?
We are looking for someone to join the Respite Rooms as a Project Worker.
Managed in partnership by St Mungo’s and Next Link on behalf of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), the Respite Rooms is a 12 month pilot offering short stay temporary accommodation, providing a specialist gender and trauma informed service for women with complex needs fleeing or at risk of domestic and/or gender-based violence.
In the role of Project Worker you will work as part of a dedicated team to provide a safe, high quality, positive and inclusive service to women with multiple support needs, who have also experienced domestic violence and VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls).
You will carry out comprehensive client assessments; providing clients with personalised case management support to help connect them into specialist external services, ensuring a housing pathway so the women can be rapidly and safely rehoused.
You will work on the weekly shift rota that includes some evenings, weekends. In some of these role’s staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.
About you
We are looking for enthusiastic people with experience of working with vulnerable people and an understanding of the needs of women experiencing homelessness. If you have good communication and listening skills, patience and resilience we will provide you with the knowledge and training you need to work with clients in a holistic and person-centred way. You should also demonstrate:
- An interest in developing own learning around current DV and VAWG related issues, housing legislation, welfare benefit, and other matters relevant supporting positive outcomes for our clients.
- Good networking skills, able to build effective working relationships and liaise with a number of internal and external partners agencies to achieve effective outcomes.

About The Role:

You will provide person centred one-to-one- support, information, signposting, and advocacy, develop, and facilitate peer support groups in response to identified need and deliver training and outreach sessions at different locations across the borough. You will work in partnership with South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLStG), to ensure Carers are identified and routinely referred into the service. The young people’s semi-independent services are a dedicated team committed to providing supporting and empowering environments for young people aged 16 – 18 years who are under the care of the Local Authority. Our approach is rooted in the principles of psychologically informed environments (PIE), ensuring that our services are tailored to meet the psychological and emotional needs of those we support. We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic support worker to join our team. In this role you will provide flexible and responsive support to the young people, adapting to their individual needs and circumstances. Your work will be guided by the principles of PIE, ensuring that all interactions are trauma-informed and empathetic.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide one to one and group support to young people, helping them achieve their personal goals and improve their well-being.

Role in Context
Jigsaw4u’s Carers Peer Support Service supports carers in the London Borough of Merton through emotional support and access to information, opportunities and practical advice.

About the Project
Herts Mind Network (HMN) has formed a partnership with Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT) to deliver support in the Mental Health Urgent Care Centre (MHUCC) at Lister Hospital.
The MHUCC provides a dedicated space and service for rapid mental health assessment, intervention, and referral, thereby enhancing the quality of care and optimising use of systemwide resources. It provides 24-hour access to specialist mental health assessment aimed at supporting service users to access the least restrictive care and treatment options. It creates a systemwide response to acute mental health crisis that enables people’s needs to be met with the right care at the right time.
About the Role:
The Support, Time and Recovery (STAR) Worker will be based at the Mental Health Urgent Care Centre at Lister Hospital, promoting joint working and creating a seamless pathway into community support for clients recovering from mental ill health.
The STAR workers will work closely with individuals in a mental health crisis currently in the MHUCC, by using a person-centred approach to ensure that everyone is supported with dignity and respect.
You will have a key role with safe and supportive observations and attending to the service users on the unit. You will provide support for carers and liaise with the wider services to support smooth and timely discharge of service users back to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide a consistent presence in the MHUCC for individuals with mental health needs to access for support.
- To advocate for service users, explaining organisations and pathways.
- To provide immediate information and advice about managing wellbeing, reducing risk and onward signposting and referral into wider HMN services and VCFSE organisations.
- To facilitate a clear and easily accessible pathway into the wider Nightlight Crisis Alternative services for individuals, to support timely MHUCC discharge, as an alternative to statutory crisis intervention, or as a supplement to wider care and treatment plans.
- To gather feedback and evaluation on patient experience in the MHUCC
- To develop sound and extensive knowledge of local resources to support in enabling appropriate referrals where necessary.
- To link in with wider Herts Mind Network services and facilitate referrals
- To ensure that a collaborative approach is used, with effective communication links developed with external professional NHS services and to work as an effective member of any multi-disciplinary team. This will require stringent relationships.
- To support individuals to develop sustainable local social networks, both through our HMN Wellbeing Centres and other community services and resources.

About the Role
We are looking to recruit individuals who have the desire to support looked after children and their foster families.
As a Fostering Support Worker (Bank) you would work closely with the supervising social workers, local authorities and other professionals to support foster placements.

Monmouthshire Families Together is a service created in partnership between Barnardo's and Monmouthshire County Council. Families Together are dedicated to working with families where they have a child living with them who is subject to a Care Order where the case is held by the Monmouthshire Local Authority Social Work teams. All of our referrals are provided by the child or young person's case-holding Social Worker.
The team has experience of working with children and their families within Child Protection, with children who are Looked After, court proceedings, education and fostering and are experienced in delivering interventions in childhood trauma, domestic abuse, attachments and many parenting interventions. Families Together also have their own Therapy Team who are able to provide advice and support to you. This support may simply need to be a conversation or it may be felt that you would benefit from some face to face therapeutic intervention.
We work with families that have a child in their care under the auspices of a Care Order – whether that be children placed with parents under Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (Wales) Regulations, or kinship foster carers. We provide direct work interventions to progress care plans to discharge of Care Orders and/or applications for SGOs. We provide quality assessments to consider whether discharge of care orders and/or if a Special Guardianship Order (SGO) is a viable option in order to best meet the needs of the child. We also provide an Active Offer of Support to all known SGO carers in the Monmouthshire area till a child is 18.

As a Helpline Worker, you will be providing support for those experiencing mental health difficulties through Birmingham Mind’s helpline service. The helpline supports people living in the Birmingham and Solihull area.
The support offered will include (but is not exclusive to), receiving calls, emails and webchat from people who may be experiencing crisis, people looking for more general assistance and information about services, carers looking for advice and services, and other community support services. You will provide appropriate referrals and signposting information about Birmingham Mind services and external partner agencies.
You will be working in a community focused way to ensure that statutory and local organisations are aware of the provision, ensuring that you retain close and effective links with them as well as keeping up to date with any pertinent changes to local provision.
The helpline is a 7 day a week service from 9am -5pm and 3pm -11pm. Under the direction of the service manager, you will support the running of the service in line with contractual requirements, Birmingham Minds Vision and Values, its operating Policy and Procedures, and any relevant legal requirements.
You will have at least 6 months’ experience in the mental health field, with experience of supporting people to be in control of their lives. Accountable to the Centre Manager and the Management Team, you will be responsible for the day to day support of service users. You will undertake duties and responsibilities, as shown on the Staff Rota, which are necessary to ensure the smooth running of the supported housing programme.
These will include:
- Advising service users in the carrying out of their activities.
- Coming alongside service users to assist and encourage.
