A key part of the British Asian Trust, Elephant Family works to protect Asia’s magnificent wildlife in the most joyful and engaging way possible. With over 20 years since its’ inception in 2003, the charity has powered over 150 projects across India, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Sumatra and Borneo. The Fundraising Manager role directly contributes to its success by building amazing relationships with globally based high-net-worth donors and corporates to secure financial support for their work across South Asia.
Key responsibilities include:

• Manage invaluable relationships with a small pool of existing major donors and corporate supporters through tailored stewardship and communication plans.
• Support the delivery of a long-term philanthropy strategy and annual operational plan to maximise income from major donors and corporate partners.
• Research prospective philanthropic and corporate supporters to develop individual cultivation strategies for each donor/prospect to move them along the ‘relationship journey’.
• Establish innovative and effective cultivation and stewardship opportunities, including working with the communications and marketing team on delivering a high value communications plan and high-profile events.
• Develop compelling Cases for Support and pitches for transformational projects and events, working closely and in alignment with our conservation programmes.
• Work with the Programmes team to identify matches between potential donors’ interests and current funding requirements, ensuring that funders’ priorities are carefully balanced with overall organisational funding needs.
• Manage relationships with event sponsors.

We’re looking for the following skills and experience:

• An ability to build and drive philanthropic programmes, with an outstanding track record of soliciting and securing significant gifts from high-net worth individuals, ideally at a 6-figure level.
• A strong track record of creating and driving high-value stewardship and communications plans.
• Experience building long term, philanthropic partnerships with both current and prospective high net worth individuals and corporates.
• Experience working with senior colleagues to grow networks, income and identify opportunities
• Experience proactively developing new major donor and corporate fundraising initiatives, including giving circles and fundraising boards.
• Exceptional relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate complex information at the highest level.
• An in-depth understanding of the expectations of high-net-worth individuals, including time management, meticulous attention to detail and the production of high quality, creative and compelling materials.

Communication and Operations Officer

Orangutan Foundation, founded in 1990, has a unique and diverse approach to orangutan conservation. Orangutan Foundation operates its own programmes in Central Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo and our work is carried out by a team of dedicated Indonesian staff. Communication and Operations Officer Role

The Communication and Operations Officer will play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of the Orangutan Foundation’s UK office and in raising the profile of this international conservation charity. Working as part of a small team, reporting directly to the Director and working closely with the Finance Manager, this multi-dimensional role requires a motivated and proactive individual, who can manage their own workload and has excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities (but are not limited to):

1. Develop and grow digital online content. Create digital communications and develop social media content, create website blogs, monthly e-news and members’ biannual newsletter. Manage annual online appeals ie The Big Give

2. Work with the Director and Finance Manager to deliver exceptional member and donor stewardship

3. Maintain and update the charity’s website and online shop. Process shop orders, adoptions and donations from various online channels

4. Respond to enquiries of supporters and members of the public

5. Ensure the charity’s database is kept up to date and accurately maintained

6. Attend charity events as and when required

Essential experience and requirements:

1. Educated to degree level

2. Excellent written communications skills

3. Ability to create compelling digital communications about the Orangutan Foundation’s conservation field programmes

4. Knowledge of wildlife conservation

5. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

Desirable experience

1. Experience using Canva, InDesign or similar

2. Experience using Squarespace, WordPress or similar

3. Experience using Adobe Photoshop

4. Collating and analysing website/social media analytics

5. Willingness to work occasional weekends or evenings

This is a full-time role with a starting salary of £28,000 and 22 days holiday per annum (plus office closure between Christmas and New Year). About the Charity

The Environment Investigation Agency investigate and campaign against environmental crime and abuse. Their undercover investigations expose transnational wildlife crime, with a focus on elephants and tigers, and forest crimes such as illegal logging and deforestation for cash crops like palm oil. The EIA work to safeguard global marine ecosystems by addressing the threats posed by plastic pollution, bycatch and commercial exploitation of whales, dolphins and porpoises. Finally, EIA aims to reduce the impact of climate change by campaigning to eliminate powerful refrigerant greenhouse gases, exposing related illicit trade and improving energy efficiency in the cooling sector.

About the Role

This is an exciting time to join EIA as the fundraising team grows. As the Philanthropy Manager, you will lead on the development and delivery of a new philanthropy programme, which includes developing tailored stewardship programmes for High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs), expanding the donor base through effective prospecting and cultivation, and working with campaign teams to develop donor funding propositions. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Head of Fundraising to shape and grow this integral income stream, drawing on your robust philanthropy fundraising experience and applying your dynamic approach to engage prospective partners and develop existing relationships.

About you

You will have significant experience in identifying and cultivating relationships with high-value supporters and securing gifts. The Role

As our Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will build and sustain our major gifts programme, driving our income stream and ensuring our work can continue.

Specifically, you will secure long-term relationships with high net-worth donors, capitalising on environmental philanthropy.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Development, you will facilitate the development of the major gifts programme, working collaboratively to develop and deliver a major gifts strategy to generate up to six-figure gifts.

You will build a prospect pipeline of donors, develop compelling, well-defined cases for support, and undertake long-term, innovative and impactful projects and themed areas of work.

Additionally, you will:

- Create bespoke stewardship plans for all current supporters

- Build relationships which support peer-to-peer fundraising

About You

To be considered as a Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will need:

- Experience of securing five- and six-figure gifts from high net-worth individuals
- Experience of prospect research
- Experience of major gift fundraising
- Experience of developing bespoke funding proposals and reports

This role will join TCV at an exciting time for our charity. You will be central to a small immediate Fundraising team and a wider income generation directorate. We are now at one of the most exciting stages in our development. With a new CEO in place, you will be joining the organisation at a pivotal moment as we approach our 50th birthday in 2027.

We are a small organization with a culture of ‘can do’ and everyone mucking in. We currently do not have a fundraising team but anticipate the Head of Fundraising will build such a team on the back of increased income generation. 

Your role:  In this role, the fundraiser will use expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to identify fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns. By coordinating events, writing proposals, and recruiting and leading volunteers, the fundraiser will hone speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while moving the Commonwork Trust closer to its financial goals.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, professional, and organised with a strong track record of successful fundraising. We’re looking for someone who believes in the mission of the Commonwork Trust and has exceptional drive for furthering our fundraising efforts as well as strategising and delivering on new ones.

• Fundraising experience – you will have at least three years of experience at developing a fundraising strategy and understanding how different income streams operate with a strong track record in securing income 

• Demonstrable experience in securing funding – you will have experience in identifying key voluntary income streams and securing funding support from trusts and foundations, and be comfortable with ‘making the ask’ of wealthy individuals 

• Grant funding – you will have a strong track record of identifying, securing and monitoring grant funding. 

• Communication skills – you will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills 

• Leadership skills – you will have experience in leading and motivating colleagues and volunteers 

• Charity experience – you will have worked in the charitable sector, preferably with a focus on environmental issues and have an understanding of how a mission-based organisation operates and the wider sector considerations that a charity operates within 

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)

• Certification, diploma, or similar qualification in fundraising would be a bonus

This is an exciting time to join our Development, Alumni & Campaigns Office, and we wish to appoint an individual who shares our passion for the future of UEA. The Development Officer (Trusts & Foundations) will join a small, dedicated team responsible for securing income from charitable trusts, foundations and grant making bodies in the UK and internationally in support of agreed University priorities, including Health-UEA Climate-UEA and various campus projects. 

Reporting to the Senior Development Manager (Trusts & Foundations) you will apply for and manage grants whilst also managing the research of new funding opportunities for the team.

Educated to degree level, or with equivalent relevant qualification or experience, you will have excellent organisational and time management skills; strong interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; and an aptitude for face-to-face fundraising. Full training will be provided in fundraising/managing of relationships with volunteers and supporters.

This full-time post is available on an indefinite basis.
