Do you envisage a world free from animal suffering? As a Grassroots Organiser, you will help make this vision a reality by organising regular campaign events and actions in your local area. All materials provided and relevant expenses paid.
Why join us? We exist to end the abuse of animals raised for food. We work specifically on corporate focused campaigns demanding better welfare practices for chickens. The actions and events you organise will help to open the eyes of the general public to the truth of factory farming, and add vital pressure onto our corporate targets, ultimately resulting in reducing animal suffering.
As a warm, friendly and approachable person, you will thrive taking the lead organising events and actions and enjoy meeting like-minded people.
As a Grassroots Organiser, you will be changing animal lives by:
-
Organising events/actions in your local area including social meet-ups, peaceful protests, leafleting and public outreach (roughly 1 event every 6-8 weeks is ideal where possible). All materials are provided and relevant expenses paid.
-
Promote your events/actions and encourage others to join you, bringing people together for the animals to create change
-
Joining us at other in-person events/actions including peaceful protests organised by staff and other volunteers
-
Get involved in campaign actions remotely, such as writing emails, letters, social media actions and more
-
Attend online events within the volunteer community
The events and actions you organise don't need to be big, 2 or 3 people getting out there for the animals will make all the difference and we have an existing community of volunteers to tap into.
Perfect for those interested in gaining firsthand experience in campaigning or volunteer management, or just interested in creating direct change for animals. If you’re excited by the prospect of speaking to the public and taking the lead to organise local actions, all while making a genuine difference to animals, this is the role for you.
You will be working directly with THL UK staff members who will steward and support you throughout your time with us, including a full onboarding process to get you started. We'll give you everything you need, no prior experience needed.
There is no set time commitment for this role, you can get involved at a time that works for you, but we ask that you organise at least 1 event every 6-8 weeks where possible. It takes around 4-6 hours to deliver an event (including planning and delivery). Whether you're a student, retired, working full time, or somewhere in between - we would love to welcome you.
If you agree with our vision, and you want to do your part to help end the abuse of animals raised for food, join our team today.

About St Giles Trust
An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others.
Who are we?
St Giles is an award-winning social justice charity using expertise and real-life past experiences to empower people who are not getting the help they need. People held back by poverty, exploited, abused, dealing with addiction or mental health problems, caught up in crime or a combination of these issues and others. We show people there is a way to build a better future for themselves and those they care about and help them create this through support, advice, and training. Our peer-led services form the backbone of our work, putting people with lived experience at the centre of delivery, design, and evaluation of support and services across the UK.
The Wise Group is a leading social enterprise which is proud to be making a difference to people’s lives. To do this, the Wise Group works in partnership with everyone from large businesses to national and local government and third sector organisations who provide essential specialist support to our customers. Together, we’re greater than the sum of our parts.
The Wise Group and St Giles came together a few years ago to form a partnership with the aim of supporting the Probation Resettlement reforms by offering a high-quality service underpinned by staff who have lived experience and cultural competency. To date we have been awarded more than 20 contracts to deliver Personal Wellbeing, Finance, Benefit & Debt and Women’s Services across England and Wales.

You will provide mentoring for clients in a positive manner, in a way that helps them reach their specific goals, while also advocating on behalf of the clients and providing practical advice, which can include contacting other services or professionals on your client’s behalf and/or accompanying them at meetings.
We will count on you to maintain accurate records of your activity involving support provided to clients and to develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships with all members of staff at St Giles Trust and other professionals in the community. The Coroners' Courts Support Service (CCSS) is a registered Charity whose trained volunteers give emotional and practical support to bereaved families and other witnesses attending an inquest.
We need volunteers to provide emotional support and practical help to bereaved families, witnesses and others attending Inquests at Coroners' Court. Our volunteers at court also provide help and assistance to the Coroners' Officers, as and when required.
We are looking for reliable, supportive people with excellent communication skills. A mature and calm attitude is needed in order to be able to talk to people during a sometimes bewildering and emotional experience. Volunteers must be willing to undergo a period of observations and shadowing, as well as attend a 3 day training course. A minimum commitment of one day (9:00am - 5:00pm) per fortnight is asked for. Training and mentoring is provided and travel expenses to the court are reimbursed.
New volunteers should possess good communication and listening skills and the ability to empathise with people they support.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

Tommy’s is the leading charity stopping the heartbreak and devastation of baby loss and making pregnancy and birth safe – for everyone. We’re looking for an experienced accountant to join our Board of Trustees and Audit Committee to support the successful delivery of our courageous strategy and ensure the charity meets its financial responsibilities.

Who we are.
We work across the whole pregnancy journey, turning our research breakthroughs into new tests and treatments, campaigning for changes to national maternity care and providing expert information and support for everyone.
What we do
- We fund ground-breaking research to identify why pregnancy goes wrong, which helps us to understand how we can prevent complications and loss, as well as enabling specialist care for people at our clinics, research centres and across the NHS.
- We provide expert, midwife-led advice for parents before, during and after pregnancy, working together towards safer, healthier pregnancies.
- We foster a connected, caring community, united in our goal to make pregnancy safer for all and advocating for and supporting those who have lost babies.
Through this work, and with the help of our amazing supporters and partners, we’re driving change at every level and finding ways to stop miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth. And we are firmly focused on delivering maximum impact for those who need us most, including those communities who right now are experiencing the poorest outcomes.
