About The Stray Cat Charity (TSCC)

The Stray Cat Charity is a newly established UK-registered CIO working to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome stray cats in Greece, starting in Patras. Our current priority campaign is to raise £35,000 to build a dedicated stray cat shelter in Patras, Greece, which will provide safe housing, veterinary care, and a pathway to adoption for vulnerable cats. As a growing new charity, we are building our fundraising and outreach network across the UK.

Role Purpose

We are looking for a motivated volunteer to support the growth of our charity by helping identify and connect with potential supporters in their local area. This includes community groups, schools, corporates, and potential major donors who may be interested in supporting or fundraising for stray cats in Greece. The aim of this role is to help generate awareness, build relationships, and support fundraising activity for our current and future campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

The volunteer may support with:

• Researching local community groups, schools, faith groups, and businesses
• Identifying potential corporate partners and supporters in their region
• Contacting organisations to introduce The Stray Cat Charity and its mission
• Encouraging groups to support the charity through donations or fundraising
• Promoting our current campaign to raise £35,000 for a stray cat shelter in Patras, Greece
• Supporting or initiating community fundraising activities where appropriate (e.g. sponsored events, school fundraisers, awareness campaigns)
• Helping to raise awareness of stray cat welfare issues in Greece through local outreach

Fundraising Options

We’re looking for a creative and proactive Volunteer Social Media Manager to help grow our Instagram presence and engage more sixth-form students with the free opportunities we offer.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous experience managing Instagram accounts who wants to use their skills to make a genuine social impact. You’ll play a key role in increasing our reach, inspiring young people and helping more students access life-changing career opportunities.

What You’ll Do

• Plan and schedule engaging Instagram content.
• Create and publish posts, reels, stories and carousels.
• Grow our Instagram following and increase student engagement.
• Develop content that resonates with sixth-form students (16-18-year-olds).
• Promote work experience, mentoring, employer events and career resources.
• Monitor performance and recommend ideas to improve reach and engagement.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has

• Previous experience managing Instagram accounts (charity, business or personal brand).
• Strong understanding of Instagram trends, engagement strategies and best practice.
• Experience creating engaging social media content using tools such as Canva or similar.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Creativity, initiative and the ability to work independently.
• A passion for education, social mobility or supporting young people.

To win local grants and attract volunteers, we need to look professional. We are looking for a creative Volunteer Graphic Designer to help us build our visual identity. You will create the assets that tell our story to local schools, funders, and families across Ealing.

We have a logo but need a positive vibrant masculine brand to go with it, that speaks to men and boys across West London and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design a simple, clean brand guidelines with brand colour palette.
• Create digital flyers and recruitment graphics to post on LinkedIn, social media and local community boards.
• Design a 1-page digital information leaflet for our upcoming pilot programme.

Because we work directly with school-aged boys and vulnerable men, safety is our highest priority. We need an experienced Safeguarding Lead to serve as our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) on the board. You will ensure our operational volunteers are safely vetted and that our mentoring spaces remain secure and compliant with UK law.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, update, and sign off on the charity’s Safeguarding Policy.
• Oversee the processing of Enhanced DBS checks for all incoming volunteers.
• Act as the main point of contact for any safeguarding or welfare disclosures.

What Makes This Role Different? 

This is a flexible, ad hoc, volunteer-led role that fits around your lifestyle and commitments. There are no set fundraising targets or fixed weekly hours. You decide how you'd like to support Make-A-Wish and how much time you can give.

- Team up with other local Community Wish Makers 
- Support an existing Make-A-Wish fundraising campaign or event

Essential:

• Qualified UK Solicitor (or equivalent legal professional)

• Experience in family law, domestic abuse, or child safeguarding

• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice

• Ability to explain legal concepts clearly and compassionately

• Commitment to ethical and client-centred practice

• Solicitor must hold - Their own Professional Indemnity Insurance and/or Public Liability Insurance cover

Desirable:

• Experience working with charities or vulnerable populations

• Knowledge of housing or homelessness law

• Familiarity with referral pathways and support services
