About the role
The Head of Executive Office provides oversight, coordination, and leadership for cross-functional activities, in particularly leading cross-organisational planning, setting performance measures, reporting, and monitoring of our annual and multi-year strategy and plans, and supporting the organisations effective governance to deliver on these. You’ll oversee the internal calendar and cycle of accountability and reporting, as well as supporting development and delivery on long-term operational plans to support our sustainability.
You and your team will work closely with the Director of People and OD on internal communication. You’ll support the CEO (in partnership with Advocacy, Fundraising and Communications) to take full advantage of multiple external opportunities for effective advocacy, profile raising, and fundraising - enabling CARE’s global programmatic power to influence and impact UK Government and aligned to our Strategy and Mission.

THE ROLE: The Director is responsible for the overall running of Maa Shanti. This includes supporting and managing staff, developing strategy, operational management, contract management, service development, consultancy, partnership working, safeguarding and child protection, HR, recruitment, marketing and social media. The Director will also have oversight of financing and fundraising, with support from the head of Fundraising and the accountants. Some of these activities, such as social media, are delegated to staff members with guidance and direction from the Director. THE COMPANY: Maa Shanti supports South Asian mothers who are impacted by domestic abuse. Our aim is to reduce isolation, and increase confidence, knowledge and skills for our services users. We do this by improving access to activities, education and employment and through the provision of advocacy and support (both in person and remotely). We run a programme of events, workshops and events which includes e.g. yoga, mindfulness, cooking, vocabulary groups, arts and crafts, excursions and children’s activities during school holidays. The charity was founded in Islington as a grassroots organisation in 2004 and has grown in strength and size in the last 20 years. We currently have 5 members of staff working for the charity.
WHO CAN APPLY: The successful candidate will be creative, committed, organised and have a good understanding of the issues facing our service users. They will have experience in leading an NGO/charity, managing staff and volunteers, fundraising, stakeholder and funder management, service development, charity administration, infrastructure and compliance, working with a board of trustees and working with vulnerable women and children. You’ll be responsible for leading on the sourcing, co-ordination and reporting of project information, impact and financial data in connection with our Trusts & Statutory fundraising programme.
You’ll play a vital role in our ability to provide great stewardship for our existing Trusts & Statutory funders and allow the existing team to focus on new funding opportunities. The role will also deepen understanding of Trusts & Statutory requirements, and the development of internal processes that support long-term income growth through successful applications.
What you’ll do
- Lead on managing the coordination of reporting requirements for the Trusts & Statutory Team
- Work with canvassers to create high quality impact reports, particularly for high value trust and statutory funders
- Lead on the creation of new template and bespoke proposal and reporting content for our fundraising priorities
- Lead on work with staff across the charity to ensure that funded projects are monitored and evaluated in order to create reports which demonstrate the impact of the funders support
- Liaise with colleagues in research, community, external relations and finance to gather project information on funded projects to ensure grant conditions are continually met
- Lead on the review of any existing processes and creation of new collaborative approaches to trusts and statutory requirements, utilising best practice and technology solutions where appropriate.
What you’ll bring
- Ability to work effectively with a range of internal and external people, and experience influencing stakeholders.
- Demonstrable expertise in the technical requirements of and current UK environment for trusts and statutory fundraising, in particular lottery distributors, central and devolved governments.
- Ability to analyse, organise and present written and numerical reporting data, with excellent writing skills.
- Proven leadership skills to successfully manage and motivate project teams to achieve shared goals.

The Role

Working in a friendly team of 4, reporting to the Head of HR and working with the HR Coordinator and HR Administrator, you will be a vital part of the HR function with a focus on the specific projects but must have a flexible approach and be able to change priorities as required, supporting the team with other activities, including but not limited to: recruitment, induction, employee relations matters, learning & development and manager upskilling.

Purpose of role:
FareShare South West’s (FSSW) fundraising need and strategy has developed and diversified rapidly in line with major growth since 2017. As a charity we annually raise over £700k in fundraised income from trusts and foundations, corporate donations, individual donors, major donors, community fundraising and events. In the next year this is set to grow as we plan exciting new services across Bristol, Devon, and Cornwall.
The Grants Manager (GM) is a new fundraising role that will be vital in supporting our growing team with bid writing to grant-making trusts and foundations. Trust and foundation income has historically been the biggest source of fundraised income for FSSW, which we aim to grow further over the next three years.
We are looking for an individual with experience of researching and writing applications to secure five and six figure grants from trusts, foundations, and statutory sources. With excellent spoken and written communication skills they will be happiest writing applications and reports. The GM will be responsible for securing income for capital and revenue-based projects, from both existing and new funders, leading on larger budget (£15k+) applications.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Build and manage a robust pipeline of medium-large value funding applications, securing grants of £15,000+ from trusts, foundations, and, where required, statutory bodies.

Sustain and grow income from medium and large trusts and foundations through applications, effective stewardship, and timely reporting.
-
Develop an in-depth knowledge of FareShare South West’s impact and operations in order to craft compelling fundraising proposals, reports, and fundraising campaigns.

Develop and nurture relationships with existing and prospective funders, delivering outstanding stewardship.
-
Work with the Head of Fundraising (HOF), Senior Leadership Team and Finance Manager to create restricted project budgets.

Work closely with wider FareShare South West’s operations, volunteering, membership, and food teams to collect quantitative and qualitative data to measure outcomes for funder reports.

Lead on the reporting schedule for all grant funders, ensuring timely reporting. Support the Trusts and Grants Officer with small grant reporting.

Analyse monthly grants fundraising performance against targets and KPI’s, and report to the HOF on progress.

Develop a good understanding of the capabilities of the CRM database (Donorfy) to be able to pull detailed reports to inform strategy / team decision making, alongside regularly updating with all your grant donor data.

Work with the wider fundraising team on income analysis and development of annual goals (KPIs) and the multi-year fundraising strategy.

Stay up to date with developments and trends in grant fundraising.

Act as an ambassador for the charity, representing FareShare South West at events and networking opportunities.
Person Specification
Essential knowledge, skills & experience – evidence required:

Excellent written and verbal communication with high attention to detail

Three years+ experience of writing grant applications in a charity role

Significant experience of researching available funding, collating project information, and producing high quality, compelling trust funding applications

Experience of securing five figure+ single and multi-year grants
-
Experience of working with and gathering information from project teams to develop clear project narratives to support funding applications and reports.

Ability to produce project budgets with support from finance team.

Excellent people skills and proven ability to form good working relations, both internally and externally.

About the role
This role will lead on the strategic development of the London community repair network. Building on the 40+ groups and volunteers that have grown over the last 13 years, you will help to develop and strengthen the network.
This will include understanding and addressing challenges faced by the groups, developing a monitoring and evaluation framework and strategically addressing barriers to engagement so that anyone who wishes to can benefit from community repair in London.
Working with the London network, you will help to increase the number of community repair events on offer to Londoners, strengthen the volunteer community, and get more people involved in community repair.
You will work with the volunteers in the network and with external partners that can help new audiences to get involved. You will deliver events and opportunities commissioned by local authorities, developing the offer and increasing income from paid activity.
Job Description
Management of the London network
-
Develop and deliver a strategy for strengthening and growing the London community repair network over the next 3 years
-
Develop and deliver an insights, monitoring and evaluation framework to identify needs within the London network and barriers to diverse groups volunteering and participating in repair events. You will have support from an expert consultant for this.

Develop and deliver a recruitment, training and skillshare program to address the needs identified, with freelance support.

Develop and deliver a strategy for supporting new community repair groups to start up in new parts of London, working with local authority and community group partners.

Scope revenue streams to support this work on an ongoing basis, and develop a business plan for income generation to support this work

Assume budgetary responsibility for all London network activities.
Relationship management

Build and maintain a relationship with community repair event hosts and other members of the network

Support existing and new London Restart Party hosts to use our online tools, collect and share data about impact, access equipment and recruit volunteers

Regularly improve and streamline existing volunteer recruitment and onboarding journeys

Develop new approaches, and build relationships with new partners to engage with a wider London community including young people and people from diverse backgrounds.

Respond to enquiries from and about the London network
Events and resources management

Work with partners and volunteer coordinators to plan and deliver volunteer welcome sessions

Lead on the development, organisation and hosting of a calendar of repair events funded by local authority and corporate partners.

Attend events across London to connect new audiences with the London repair network

Host social events for the London network, including an annual gathering

Update and improve Restart resources used by repair groups
Communications

Content production for the web, social media, email, and print, including drafting copy, sourcing and editing images at London based events as needed

Respond to press and comms requests where requested (for example, providing quotations or facilitating visits from journalists to Restart Parties). This does not necessitate acting as a ‘live’ press spokesperson unless you are comfortable with this.

Demonstrable experience of strategy development, including gathering and incorporating input from stakeholders

Development and Volunteer Coordinator Lead
Location: Lewisham
Salary: £30,350 - £43,675 per annum
Job Type: Initial 12-month contract with the possibility of extension
This position with Waythrough is based in Forest Hill SE23 which is 20 mins from London Bridge mainline station. The contract is for one year (with the possibility of an extension) and they welcome applicants who have lived experience of drugs, alcohol, homelessness or mental health challenges. The role is for 37 hours per week, but they are willing to consider part time applicants or a job share.
The Role
This is a new and exciting role based in Lewisham for a Development and Volunteer coordinator lead. The role entails managing a team of volunteers and Peer mentors to deliver a service to Lewisham residents who are experiencing Drug and/or alcohol use and support Peer mentors to distribute Naloxone to the local community.
They are looking for an innovative and creative person to develop and implement a buddying system and a telephone helpline which will be staffed by a team of volunteers.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experienced working in a lead or supervisory role would be beneficial.
- Experience working with IT packages such as Microsoft word and excel.
- Be able to undertake basic administrative tasks.
- Great communication skills are essential.
- Be able to have an empathetic approach when dealing with service users.

About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and commercially astute retail leader to develop and execute a retail strategy that drives sales and profit growth whilst building a strong and collaborative culture and demonstrating a passion for outstanding customer experience. Working to the Director of Income Generation, you will be expected to lead, inspire and motivate teams to deliver excellence across all aspects of our retail business and ensure effective communication, support and cross-departmental working between the Hospice, shops and wider income generation teams.

We are opening a brand new bookshop in Calverton during 2025 and we are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Bookshop Manager to lead our diverse volunteer team and oversee daily operations to maximise income for our charity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management, a love for books and media, and excellent customer service skills.
