World Cancer Research Fund explores how diet, weight and physical activity affect your risk of developing cancer. As an international network of charities, we’ve been funding life-saving research, influencing global healthcare policy, and educating the public on how to make informed choices since 1982. While society continues to search for a cure, our prevention and survival work is helping people to live longer, happier, and healthier lives – free from the devastating effects of cancer.
We now have an exciting opening for a Head of Media, PR & Editorial. The postholder will be responsible for developing and supporting key campaigns and strategies that help to promote and explain the work, impact, health messaging and funding needs to diverse audiences. You will achieve these through PR and media relations, awareness-raising campaign development, supporter stories, celebrity/ambassador management, and the management of a small team, including staff and specialist consultant support.
We are seeking an experienced communications professional with demonstrable expertise and a track-record of success in managing communications for a charity, health or science-related organisation, including developing successful media strategies, with positive press coverage, and writing clear, engaging copy for different audiences across digital and social media channels. The successful candidate will also have proven experience planning and managing multiple cross-departmental projects.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.
It is an exciting time to be joining us at Crisis as we launch our ambitious new 10-year strategy. Our services will be key to helping deliver its aims. We work with thousands of people across England, Scotland, and Wales each year so they can leave homelessness behind for good. We have recently adapted the way our services work to maximise our impact in ending homelessness. We have increased our capacity to work with people one to one and strengthened our ability to support those people facing the most barriers to preventing or ending their homelessness.
Location: Crisis Skylight London, 50 – 52 Commercial Street, London, E1 6LT
You will be able to work from home one day per week in line with Crisis’ Hybrid Working Policy. You will be expected to travel around London on a regular basis to meet with partners and stakeholders. National travel i.e., to other Skylight Centres will be required on occasion.

The Director of Crisis Skylight London will be responsible for leading and developing strategic partnerships across several London Boroughs. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and lead the service into our new 10-year strategy, influencing key local and national political, community and business leaders, partners, and providers to drive forward our strategic priorities all with the aim of ending homelessness. You will play a key role as a decision marker on the Client Services Senior Leadership Team, along with your counterparts in other London Skylights, and from across the different regions of the UK.
About you
We are looking for an experienced, innovative, values driven senior leader from the homelessness, health, safeguarding or associated sectors. You will have experience of building relationships with senior leaders to develop strategic partnerships with the aim of achieving strategic objectives and influencing social change. You will have the motivation, commitment, and vision, able to influence a range of audiences and able to articulate a compelling case for change to key decision makers across London. You will be a leader in your field, with experience of operational delivery, ensuring high quality and safe services to vulnerable adults, with the ability to provide clear leadership to your team. We are seeking a Risk and Internal Audit Manager to lead our risk management and internal audit initiatives. This critical role involves developing a robust risk management framework, conducting thorough internal audits, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of humanitarian issues and standards, including codes of conduct and accountability principles, and possess a working knowledge of French or Spanish. You are a highly skilled professional with a Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIA) certification or a full CCAB qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA). Your extensive experience in risk management and internal audit, particularly within an international NGO or a similar environment, equips you with the necessary expertise to excel in this role. About the role
As the Risk and Internal Audit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in fortifying our organisation by overseeing both risk management and internal audit operations. You will develop and manage CARE International UK’s risk management framework, maintain and update the organisation’s risk register, and provide regular risk management reports. You will also develop and execute an annual internal audit plan, ensuring compliance with recognised auditing standards. Your role involves coordinating with various CARE entities and overseeing specialist audits in areas like cybersecurity and GDPR. International travel will be required to support CARE International UK funded programmes.
