We have a big ambition: to ensure that no parent in London feels alone and every child has the best start in life. Our network of 16 local Home-Start charities in the capital provides volunteer-led home visiting, group and other support to parents and carers with young children facing challenges such as social isolation, mental health difficulties, and poverty. Our work focuses on building new partnerships and securing funding, facilitating shared learning and more coordinated services, and amplifying the voices of disadvantaged families with young children to drive wider change. We are part of the national Home-Start movement.

About the Role

As Young People Support Worker you will work under the direction, guidance and support of a manager/senior worker you will be responsible for a caseload of clients as well as share responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers and staff in the service. You will participate in our programme of meaningful activity by running group sessions and activities within the accommodation to support young people’s individual development and social engagement.

In accommodation based services you will ensure that the accommodation is properly maintained and support the client to sustain their tenancy and participate in positive and successful move on.

You will work a rolling rota of daytimes, evenings and weekends (some shifts will be lone working) including bank holidays to ensure that young people have full staff support during their most difficult times.

Key responsibilities include:

· Ensure client safety, wellbeing, and adherence to safeguarding and emergency procedures.

· Deliver high-quality risk assessments, support plans, and one-to-one/group support to build client resilience.

· Foster partnerships with local agencies to support clients while following data protection protocols.

· Engage flexibly and creatively with clients, encouraging their involvement in decisions and participation in activities.

· Support clients in accessing education, training, employment, and volunteering opportunities.

· Maintain health and safety standards, prepare accommodations for new clients, and oversee accurate financial records.

· Collaborate with team members, volunteers, and attend training and meetings as required, ensuring contract compliance.

 

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

· Experience working with young people or those affected by homelessness.

· Understanding of the needs of individuals facing homelessness, mental health issues, substance misuse, or the care system.

· Knowledge of risk assessments, support planning, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures.

· Strong literacy, numeracy, IT skills, and commitment to diversity, equality, and professional integrity.

· Ability to maintain professional boundaries, work collaboratively, and reflect on practices for continuous development.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Student Administration Officer will work with the Associate facing Programmes team to support the successful delivery of the upReach programme, focused on the programme operations of onboarding new Associates.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

You will contribute to upReach's mission by working with our programme team to facilitate the onboarding of new Associates.  You will be responsible for key processes and tasks on the Associate Tracking System, to enable upReach to deliver effectively and to meet objectives and key results (OKRs). These include:

• Associate Tracking System: steward applicants through the pipeline; confirm student eligibility; answering applicant and Programme Coordinator queries; track and report on pipeline progress; help Programme Coordinators with reporting on programme application progress;

• Ensuring our communications to applicants and prospective applicants are accurate and effective including email templates and call scripts;

• Assisting the student attraction team to deliver effective campaigns promoting our programmes;

• Assisting with other programme delivery activities as needed;

• Researching process improvement projects as needed.

Their vision is to find a cure for all types of brain tumours. To achieve their mission, they are looking for a Community Fundraiser who will proactively engage with supporters, community groups and volunteers across the West Midlands to join their team of 12 Community Fundraisers across the UK.

The Community Fundraiser (West Midlands) is responsible for providing support and guidance to fundraisers within their communities to achieve their ambitions and ultimately raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research. This is achieved through a wide variety of activities such as helping supporters to make the most of their own fundraising, engaging participants with externally organised events such as the Great Birmingham Run, and encouraging communities to get involved in events organised by Brain Tumour Research such as Wear a Hat Day and Walk for Hope. The Community Fundraiser will be the face of Brain Tumour Research in the area, providing excellent stewardship to existing supporters, and building great relationships with new supporters.

This post has been vacant since Autumn, and as such needs a fundraiser with confidence and capability in fundraising to join the team, provide donor love to the loyal supporters in the area, and approach developing the areas potential with energy and enthusiasm. Our mission is to help people manage their money effectively, and our independent, confidential and flexible approach is tailored to individuals’ needs, allowing us to reach those who find it most difficult to access advice. You will be joining a large team of Money Advisers providing specialist level debt and benefit advice and casework.

Wilmslow Youth is a charity serving young people and families in our local town through a variety of community initiatives and therapeutic services. We first opened our doors in 2016, and now, through our drop-in youth café, counselling services, workshops and support groups, we work with hundreds of young people and their families each year.
 
We work in close, collaborative, partnership with others in our area, including local churches, schools, NHS services, charities and community groups, and our mission is to build a vibrant community to which young people can belong and can effortlessly tap into timely and free support.

We are looking for a dynamic, committed and innovative person who brings visionary leadership, creativity, energy and strong youth engagement skills to supporting young people’s development.
 
The post holder will develop and deliver a varied programme of activities and groups that help facilitate friendships, build community and offer positive life experiences. The role primarily involves overseeing and developing our youth café, including overseeing the fantastic volunteer workforce who support it. It also involves leading our community drop-in sessions for young people who are disengaged from school due to mental ill-health.
 
Secondarily, the successful applicant will support our wider work, such as our primary school transition project, which delivers small group and class work to over 300 year 6 students to aid their transition to secondary school. • Location: Ideally based in the Highlands but the post holder can be based anywhere.

• Workplace type:  This post can be carried out remotely, desk space is available in Ross and Cromarty Citizens Advice Bureau.

• Hours per week: Hours are flexible. This will be discussed at interview and agreed on appointment.  

• Type of contract: 2 years fixed term with extension if targets are achieved.

Your role will be to design, instigate and deliver a programme of corporate and other fundraising and sponsorship to raise funds for the North Highlands Consortium bureaux. Success in this role will mean our services can be maintained and expanded, now and into the future, enabling people in our communities to prosper and thrive.
