Introducing REMIX, a vibrant new youth charity that’s being set to EMPOWER, INSPIRE, and TRANSFORM the lives of young people across London. As a new startup youth charity in London, we need the guidance, help and support from volunteers who are driven, proactive, solution focused and able to help provide governance and strategic direction to our brand new youth charity as one of our Trustees. We are seeking a Trustee to dedicate a few hours each month to be a guiding force and exemplary leader at REMIX.

• Provide governance and oversight to ensure REMIX operates effectively and ethically.
• Contribute to the development of our strategic goals and objectives.
• Monitor our performance and ensure financial stability.
• Act as an ambassador for REMIX, advocating for our cause and values.

• Experience in leadership roles or governance (desirable but not essential) or experience related to REMIX such as youth work, etc.

Caring Volunteers Needed: Are you concerned about our world’s future? You can have a positive impact and meet people Internationally, from your home, as you have a spare hour here and there each month. Do you enjoy Human Relations  and thrive working in the human relations division of any Institution, University or Association? Then we need you. 

As an online “ At Home” Volunteer, you will be working with people from a wide variety of countries and cultures, all believing in passing on the right to basic education, the importance of cultural exchange, and giving voice to the voiceless. 

The Position: We ask Volunteers to contribute a minimum of one hour a month. Within our Human Resource Division you will be learning to process applicants from around the world, assigning them to appropriate Teams and coordinating the Team Leads training sessions and monthly meetings. While English is required, you will learn to be comfortable with various global accents as well as proficient in your Interviewing skills and background research. You will practice team organizing & management skills. Depending on which teams you join, you will learn non profit contracts, global time zone coordination and other very basic, practical skills when working with people Internationally and online.

Volunteer with us at St Peter's Power Park - Worcester

At Acorns we provide care and support for life limited or life threatened children and their families. We are a charity, and our fundraising is vital to enable us to continue providing care and support to the children: it costs around £11 million a year to run our care services.

Join us at St Peter's Power Park and support Acorns Children's Hospice run a stand.

We have 250 local groups which play a vital part in supporting people affected by MS across the UK. They provide sense of belonging, unity and friendship. And they deliver services and support for their local MS community.

We are looking to recruit a Group Coordinator for our Borders group. As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. You’ll recruit, induct and support other group volunteers to make sure your group’s activities meet the needs of your local MS community. In this role you’ll be able to develop your leadership, management, communication, organisation and motivation skills. 

Time Commitment

We estimate this role will need around 5 hours a week. Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary depending on your activities. This is an ongoing role.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

About you

You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office, the internet and email. You’ll be able to apply disability, equality and inclusion practices and understand and apply our risk management system. Ideally you’ll understand the local area and organisations that provide local services.

You will be reliable and easy to contact and you need to live in or near the Borders area to carry out this role.

A bit about this role

Our Cats Protection shops play an important part in raising the funds needed to help the thousands of cats and kittens in our care. Our retail ‘love to tidy’ volunteers play a key role in making sure our shops are organised, tidy and most importantly welcoming to members of the public. Whether you have a passion for cats, neatness or both – this could be the volunteer role for you!

What can you expect to be doing?

● Helping keep stock rooms organised, clean and tidy

● Keeping sales areas neat, ordered and accessible

● Creating eye-catching displays

● Making sure Cats Protection information on display is relevant and up to date

We are looking for a Program Coordinator for our Scouts Program based in Ioannina, for a minimum commitment of 6 months.

In this role, you’ll be coordinating the daily planning and delivery of activities for young refugees in two refugee camps: Katsikas and Agia Eleni.

The program consists of English language classes, educational workshops and excursions outside of the camp. The program engages around 50 children at each site, between the ages of 8 and 17, the majority of whom are from Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria.

For this role:

Initially, you will work closely with the outgoing Program Coordinator to learn how the program functions. This may last a few weeks and may include preparing and delivering sessions in line with your skills, supporting teachers, and helping organise weekend excursions. This gives us a chance to see your capacities and conduct a thorough handover. 

Role Description:

You will…

• Coordinate, delegate, and manage a team of 4-5 volunteers in the daily operations of the Scouts Program
• Develop current programming in coordination with the Programs Manager and project team member
• Assess impact and effectiveness of the program in line with its objectives
• Plan and deliver effective educational and outdoor activities, within a theme-based, modular curriculum
• Ensure a high quality of program implementation, with the ability to provide behaviour management and safeguarding training to new volunteers
• Directly supervise and support project team to ensure effective inductions and transfer of key skills/knowledge take place between short term team members
• Liaise and collaborate with relevant local and national authorities and stakeholders
• Represent Second Tree in relevant external meetings with international actors (UNHCR, IOM, ASB, Intersos, TDH) or local authorities (municipality, army, police, etc)
• Capture and compile relevant M&E on the program
• Conduct interviews with volunteer candidates

Skills:

We offer:

• Accommodation in a shared house.
• Transportation to/from work.
• After completion of a three-month trial, if you commit long-term, small monthly expenses refund.

In certain periods of the year, demand is extremely high, and the volunteer houses might be full. If you have the means to pay for your own accommodation, please let us know. We would still be happy to host you if space is available. However, in a situation where the volunteer houses are full, this would allow us to offer a volunteering opportunity to someone that cannot afford to pay rent.

NOTE: If you require a visa to stay in Greece for the minimum ten-week commitment, please know that as a Greek NGO, we are unable to sponsor your visa.

We are a local charity providing social welfare advice, information and support, through a wonderful team of paid staff and volunteers and we are looking to appoint a new Treasurer to join our board and help steer the organisation in the right direction.

In 2023/24 we:

• Helped over 15,000 clients to find a way forward with their problems

• Dealt with over 37,000 separate issues for those clients

• Gained just under £2M of extra income for clients to help during the cost of living crisis

We are seeking someone who can represent the different Cheshire West communities and has the energy and enthusiasm to help us achieve our goal of improving people's lives.  Age, background, origins or health conditions are no barriers for joining our team of trustees as we are actively looking to include a variety of different perspectives on our board to best serve our community. 

Prior experience as a charity treasurer is not necessary but we are looking for someone who has financial qualifications or experience and has some knowledge or experience of charity finances, fundraising, financial consequences and pension schemes.

You will need to be available to attend at least 5 board meetings a year (in person and remote), often in the evenings, plus one trustee development day each year and there are many opportunities for further involvement. The post of treasurer is a voluntary one but all reasonable expenses are reimbursed.  Volunteering should not affect state benefit entitlement.
