Senior Researcher
The Senior Researcher in an Initial Research Team is the operational lead for one
particular project at a time, they will work with the Research Manager and within
the Initial Research Framework in order to plan and execute the research. At the
conclusion of research projects the Senior Researcher is responsible for providing
an accurate research report which allows for consideration as to what happens
next with the research inline with our organisation's purpose.The role of Senior
Researcher is key in our organisation's progress and overall positive output as it is
the starting point for all of our work. It is therefore important Senior Researchers
are committed and capable.
Key responsibilities:
● To line manage and supervise a team of approximately 4 research
volunteers
● To lead, oversee and take part in planning and execution of initial research
projects
● To maintain high standards and ethics
● To ensure research is in inline with the initial research framework
● To delegate taskings to members of the team
● To ensure team members are supported to do their role
● To set and lead team meetings
● To regularly communicate with team members about their task progress,
welfare and support needs
● To lead the development of research reports which provide a basis for
future action inline with our purpose as a result of the initial research carried
out
● To provide a research report at the end of the initial research for
consideration for future action
● To set tasks for team members which align with the plan and which
progress the research
● To deal with issues as they arise
● To monitor progress and regularly report into the Research Manager
Requirements:
- To have a masters degree or PhD
- To have experience as a Researcher or equivalent role
- To be able to manage and lead others
