Our Galley Team daily supplies the Crew, Day Crew, patients and caregivers with the food they need to keep on going. The Galley team will prepare up to 1,700 meals a day in a role that is mostly performed standing up and moving around, while keeping the best possible standards in hygiene.
What You Will Contribute
• Prepare and cook menu items in compliance with established recipes and standards.
• Assist in the setup and stocking of cooking stations with necessary supplies.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the galley area, adhering to sanitation standards.
• Adapt to any changes in the menu or galley procedures as directed by the Galley Team Leader, Senior Chef, or Food Services Manager.
• Assist with meal preparation and clean-up.
• Attend departmental meetings on all workdays.

FoodCycle is looking for volunteers (unpaid) for our project in Wolverhampton on Wednesdays!
Do you love cooking? Do you love meeting new people?
We're looking for volunteers who can join the cooking or hosting team at Wesleyan Holiness Church, WV3 9RD. Each week, we use surplus food to prepare and serve a 3-course vegetarian meal for anyone who would like one, completely free of charge.
Each session is guided by our wonderful Project Leaders who will show you what to do. We want to be able to keep up with the demand in the area and so it's only with your help we can keep going!
We have different volunteer roles:
- Hosts: to welcome guests, serve refreshments and food, and to help create a warm, friendly atmosphere (4-7pm)
- Cooks: to work as a team to prepare a tasty 3-course, vegetarian meal from our surplus food (2-7pm)
- Pot wash: to help wash up and clean up after the meal (4-7pm)
- Project leaders: For those looking to take on more responsibility, there is also the opportunity to become a Project Leader! Our PLs must commit to leading at least one session per month, and you'll receive extra training and support. You'll also need to pass a DBS check.

Provide holistic end-of-life care to people who are suffering of a terminal illness, under the direction of the Palliative Care Nurse Team Leader. By caring for those often isolated, hopeless, and fearful, this position is a living example of God’s love and compassion for the weak, lonely, and marginalised members of society. This position works primarily off-ship; hot and dusty or wet (depending on season) conditions can be expected. Visiting people in their house requires cultural sensitivity.
What You Will Contribute
• Support terminally ill patients and their family members through the grieving process, preparing them for death
• Train and assist family members with wound care for the afflicted person
• Share basic health principles with terminally ill patients and family members in order to improve their health
• Encourage the use of local, affordable materials for wound care and locally available analgesia
• Encourage the family to find ways to be self-supporting and teach them about planning for the future

The Role
As a Treasurer you will be responsible for overseeing the financial affairs of the organisation and ensuring they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice. Duties will include:
- Ensuring funds are invested and used sensibly, in a strategic way to support and develop the organisation
- Agreeing and presenting finances at Trustees’ meetings, with support of the office
- Acting as a point of contact for the office for day to day and on-going financial queries
- Agreeing financial decisions as part of staffing reviews, with the Chair
- Deputising for the Chair / Vice-Chair as need arises
The Person
To be considered for this unique and exciting opportunity you should have a natural leadership ability, integrity and a have meticulous eye for detail. You must demonstrate good and independent judgement with an ability to make decisions for the good of the organisation. You should come from a financial or accounts background, and ideally have an understanding of the financial landscape in the charity sector.
From a practical perspective, you must have a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to fulfil required duties and an ability to work effectively as a member of a geographically dispersed team. The board hold remote meetings four times per year which you would be expected to attend.

There are a variety of tasks that you can get involved with in the shop, including:

- Receiving donated goods from members of the public
- Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated goods for sale

- 4 Board meetings per year. In addition, Trustees will be asked to join one of RDA’s sub-committees.
- All trustees are expected to attend key RDA events and visit RDA groups from time to time.
- It is expected that the trustee role will require working on average 2 days per month.

This is an important role for the RNLI, our trustees are a body of volunteers who carry the full financial and legal responsibility for everything the RNLI does. You will be contributing advice, expertise and effective leadership as a Trustee. You will be helping us to adapt for the future, enabling us to continue achieving our purpose of saving lives at sea.

Age UK Notts are seeking individuals who would like to be considered as a volunteer for our Companion Service.
Volunteers will be supporting people remotely, in their own homes and in the community within Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and ideally, we ask all applicants to provide a minimum of 1 hour volunteering a week.
The companion service volunteer can choose to be:
• A companion telephone/video caller
• A companion within the person’s home
• A companion outside the person’s home
• Or a combination of all three.
Examples of the type of support the service offers include:
• Telephone / video calls for an older person/s on a regular basis at a mutually agreed time for a friendly chat.
• Supporting an older person/s hobbies and interests or simply chatting with them in their own home on a regular basis.
• Supporting with digital access & building confidence skills & motivation to access the opportunities of the internet.
• Supporting the person outside of their home e.g., by accompanying them on a walk, to the shops, to a café, garden centre, theatre or cinema or other social activities / community groups.
• Where appropriate, supporting the older person to access other services through information and signposting or referring to the Companion Service Coordinator for support.
We are looking for the following skills/interests:
• Individuals with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of older people who are committed to volunteering on a regular basis.
• Commitment to complete our Volunteer Report Form accurately and regularly.
• Ability to travel for visits in the local community either by car or public transport for those volunteers who choose to participate in this type of activity.
• Digital literacy for those volunteers who choose to participate in this type of activity.

This is a home-based role and we are looking for a volunteer who can commit to 7 hours per week on a consistent and reliable basis - the role has been listed as permanent however this is a voluntary role only. The individual will ideally have previous experience of working with a Diversity and Inclusion role or is keen to gain experience. The ideal candidate will have an awarenss of religous and cultural events, able to operate relevant IT applications including Microsoft Office, have experience of working under pressure and to deadlines and have access to a personal laptop and homeworking space.

Social Media Manager
Volunteer Role Description (remote, unpaid)
Develop and schedule posts for Wekume’s social media platforms.
Manage social media platforms for Wekume including new and existing platforms.
Engage with followers and respond to queries promptly.
Create campaigns to raise awareness about reproductive health and Wekume’s services.
Monitor social media analytics and optimize strategies for growth.

We are seeking to complement the existing skills and knowledge and grow our Board by appointing a new trustee with knowledge and experience in financial management to become the designated Finance Trustee for BNOS.
You will support BNOS’s Board of Trustees and Treasurer by assisting with budgeting and other near- and long-term financial planning and provide oversight of financial reporting. You will work closely with the other trustees to oversee our financial governance and compliance with our legal and regulatory obligations. You will provide the Board with the confidence and knowledge to better make strategic decisions.
