Volunteer Grant Researcher (Cameras For Girls)

Cameras For Girls aims to address the issues surrounding the lack of empowerment, gender inequality and poverty across Africa by working with people endeavouring to become journalists and photographers in male-dominated spaces. They work with people who have either recently graduated from a Journalism and Communications program at the local university or are in the last year of studies. To get paid work, they must own a camera and know how to use it but many lack the resources to do so. CFG empowers these people with a camera to keep + a 4-phase photography and business skills training. This training is delivered both in-country and online.

• Are you passionate about supporting charitable causes and skilled in research? We are looking for a dedicated volunteer grant researcher to join our team and help our Canadian registered charity, Cameras For Girls, secure essential funding.

• Responsibilities: Conduct thorough research on grants, foundations, corporate sponsorships, and other funding opportunities using Grant Station. Identify viable funding options that align with our mission and goals. Update and maintain an existing Excel sheet with relevant details of potential grants. Manage time effectively to research and update information consistently. Work independently and be self-motivated to meet deadlines. Requirements: Strong research skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Excel for organizing and updating data. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. Commitment to volunteering 2-3 hours per week. Passion for our cause and a desire to make a difference.
