As an Enhanced First Response Volunteer, you will drive our hire car and go out with a partner volunteer to look for referrals made by StreetLink, engaging with those found sleeping rough, and passing on information to the Outreach team. Enhanced First Responders play a crucial role in ensuring people sleeping rough receive vital support from the Outreach team to move away from the streets and get connected to other local services. Please note, you have to be 25 years old or over to drive the hire car, but if you don't meet this criteria, please still apply as you can support with note taking and navigation between referrals.

The Role:
The Chair of the Board plays a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership and ensuring effective governance for the Foundation. The primary purpose of the role is to guide the Board in making impactful decisions that align with the Foundation’s charitable objectives, while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and accountability. You will foster a collaborative and high-performing Board culture, support trustee development, and ensure strong relationships with key stakeholders, including funders and partners. Acting as the Foundation’s ambassador, you will advocate for vulnerable children and young people, ensuring their needs remain central to the Foundation’s mission and operations.

A bit about this role
At Cats Protection we passionately believe that neutering cats before they can breed is an essential part of cat ownership, and without neutering the UK’s cat population would quickly get out of control. Our neutering volunteers help spread positive neutering messages and make it easier for owners on low incomes to get their cats neutered. They help raise awareness of the benefits of neutering, promote our neutering schemes and respond to enquiries from members of the public.
What can you expect to be doing?
- Promoting the benefits of neutering and our neutering schemes
- Responding to enquiries about neutering
- Completing relevant neutering paperwork and distributing neutering vouchers
- Following up with cat owners to make sure that vouchers are used
- Ensuring all cats and kittens are neutered in line with Cats Protection policies and procedures

About the Role
As a Safeguarding Trustee, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the children and young people we serve. You will work closely with our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to oversee and enhance our safeguarding practices.
This is an unpaid position.
Key Responsibilities
- Review child protection and safeguarding referrals and concerns quarterly with the DSL, and present a report to the Board of Trustees.
- Provide an overview of safeguarding concerns at each Board meeting.
- Convene the Safeguarding and Child Protection Sub Group as needed.
- Annually review the Single Central Record and staff/volunteer training records.
- Support the DSL in the annual review of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about changes in safeguarding legislation and best practices.
- Address any unresolved safeguarding concerns within the organisation.

What is a Caseworker?
Caseworkers visit clients to work out what type of support they need. You will listen without judgement to assess and provide tailored support to help those serving, who have served and their families to navigate life in and beyond military service. Some examples of support are securing funding for special equipment for someone with a disability, adaptions to a property so an older client can remain at home or funds for a rental deposit. Caseworkers also sign-post clients onto specialist local services for advice on benefits, housing, mental health, debt, finding work etc.

We’ve been supporting the Armed Forces community since 1885. Our clients come from all backgrounds and age groups and may have served in WW2 or in a more recent conflict like the Falklands or Afghanistan. We’d love the general public to understand what we do and how they can help us.
There are SSAFA branches throughout the UK and overseas who support local volunteers to deliver services to veterans, serving personnel and their families. Some branches are divided into smaller divisions to ensure the best local service delivery. Each branch has a team of volunteer caseworkers, support volunteers, executive roles, and fundraisers.
Volunteer Caseworkers are the lifeblood of SSAFA, supporting a growing number of people in need of financial, practical, and emotional support. Clients come from all backgrounds and age groups and may have served in WW2 or in a more recent conflict like Iraq or Afghanistan.
When would you be needed and where would you be based?
The essential part of the role is visiting clients, so you will need access to a vehicle or another way to travel to meet clients at home or in a care home setting. As part of your local branch, you might have access to an office, but you can complete the administration part of the role from home as long as you have access to IT equipment and the internet.
What would you be doing?
- Contacting beneficiaries and arranging to meet them at a mutually convenient time.
- Meeting beneficiaries and completing a form to assess their circumstances, using good communication skills, empathy and understanding.
- Sign-posting clients onto local services providing specialist advice.
- Applying for funding on the behalf of the beneficiary through a specific process and system
- Arranging for the purchase of goods and services
- Keeping the beneficiary informed of their case progress.
- Liaise with the branch and regional office, regarding your availability.
- Keeping up to date with training and SSAFA news so that you are best able to support clients.
- Being a positive ambassador for SSAFA remembering that anyone you meet could be a potential client, volunteer, or fundraiser.

What would you be doing?
- Working with other branch volunteers to develop a publicity plan.
- Publicising SSAFA events.
- Work with Marketing/PR staff at central office to develop case studies of clients and volunteers and ensure that SSAFA branding and messaging are consistent.
- Develop and maintain networks with local press, TV and radio outlets through providing press releases, interviews, case studies etc.
- Working with the Digital Team at Central Office to develop and maintain a local on-line presence for the branch via a website and social media channels.

- Liaising with PR staff at central office or on-call in the event of a PR/press situation.
- Supporting local and national campaigns to recruit new volunteers.

What Will a Community Driver Volunteer Do?
As a Community Driver Volunteer with Burmantofts Community Friends (BCF), you will play a vital role in supporting local residents aged 55+ in the LS9 area. Your main responsibility will be providing safe and reliable transport for individuals attending our fun activities, events, fitness sessions, trips, and other community services. What are we looking for?
As a Member of the Grants Panel, you should have knowledge or understanding of grant management, and of assessing projects and identifying desired outcomes. You will need to demonstrate sound business judgement, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to work as part of a team to help the Football Foundation achieve its aims. You should also have a genuine interest in the charitable sector, as well as an interest in sports.
Due to the current economic climate, we are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates with excellent knowledge of delivery of capital projects, with an in-depth understanding of how best value can be achieved.

Second-stage interviews will be in person at Wembley Stadium and are currently scheduled for Tuesday 13 May 2025.
Please note successful candidates will be invited to observe the Grants Panel meeting in Bradford, travelling late afternoon for a site visit on 21 May, with the meeting held the following day, 22 May 2025.
All applications received will be short listed against the role requirements and person specification. Those most closely matching our requirements will be invited to take part in an interview.
