Join Us in Supporting Older People in LS9 with Burmantofts Community Friends!

Who are BCF?

Burmantofts Community Friends (BCF) is a community-driven charity in East Leeds, dedicated to improving the lives of older people (55+) in the LS9 area. We provide practical support with daily activities, trips, information, advocacy, outreach, and well-being services. We work closely with residents, volunteers, and local partners to make a positive impact, always with a friendly, welcoming approach.

What Will a Bus Buddy Do?

As a Bus Buddy with Burmantofts Community Friends (BCF), you will be an essential part of supporting local residents aged 55+ in the LS9 area. Your primary role will be to ensure safe and reliable transport for individuals attending our activities, events, fitness sessions, trips, and other community services. You’ll assist our Community Driver and members with mobility challenges, helping to provide a smooth and stress-free journey to and from these services. Full training will be provided. Bus Buddies will help members from their doorstep onto the vehicle, greet all passengers, and sit at the back of the vehicle to monitor and assist where needed. 

What Experience Do You Need?

No specific experience required! We’re looking for passionate individuals who want to make a positive impact and are eager to learn. Whether you’re retired and looking to make use of your spare time, a student or job seeker wanting to develop new skills, or someone who lives locally (or nearby – our location is super easy to reach from the city centre), we want to hear from you! Local knowledge is a bonus, but it’s not essential – we’re all about making a difference, no matter your background.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transport support for older residents (55+) attending BCF activities, events, fitness sessions, and trips.
• Assist members with mobility challenges, ensuring they have a comfortable and stress-free journey to and from services.
• Help members from their doorstep onto the vehicle and greet all passengers with a friendly, welcoming approach.
• Monitor passengers and offer assistance during the journey, ensuring everyone is comfortable and supported.

This year, the Foundation will be investing more money than ever into facilities across England and is committed to improving the experience of playing football for everyone. 

The Foundation’s goal is to unlock the power of pitches ensuring everyone has a great place to play regardless of gender, race, disability or place.  

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our Grants Panel. This independent panel of experts is responsible for scrutinising grant applications to ensure consistency of assessment against approved processes and criteria, value for money and the potential to achieve strategic objectives. The Panel then has the important role of approving grants and making recommendations. 

What are we looking for?

As a Member of the Grants Panel, you should have knowledge or understanding of grant management, and of assessing projects and identifying desired outcomes. You will need to demonstrate sound business judgement, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to work as part of a team to help the Football Foundation achieve its aims.  You should also have a genuine interest in the charitable sector, as well as an interest in sports.  

Due to the current economic climate, we are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates with excellent knowledge of delivery of capital projects, with an in-depth understanding of how best value can be achieved. 

We are looking to develop a Panel that is as inclusive as possible and which effectively represents the broad, diverse constituency that the Football Foundation is looking to support. We encourage and welcome applications from all, regardless of background.

In this exciting volunteer role you will be responsible for;

About The Space

The Space exists to enable the arts, culture and heritage sectors to engage audiences using digital and broadcast content and platforms.

Founded in 2013 by Arts Council England and the BBC, we are an independent not for profit community interest company. Our role is to fund the creation of new digital cultural content and provide free training, mentoring and online resources for organisations, artists and creative practitioners.

We believe embracing digital is essential to the future of cultural activity. Digital technologies have the power to open up new ways for people to access, participate in, and share, the rich diversity of UK culture. Applying these strategically enables new artistic forms, attracts new audiences and makes cultural experiences democratic and available to all. The Space prioritises creating new engagement opportunities for people who are currently under-represented in cultural content and across broadcast and digital media.

The Space is based in the West Midlands. Our team of ten employees are located throughout the UK and work predominantly from home. They are supported by a network of around 80 freelance associates enabling us to give those we support access to specialist digital and broadcast skills in their own regions.

About the roles

You will work with our new Chair, Ri Chakraborty, and other members of the Board to provide governance and oversight and ensure the effective delivery of The Space’s community interest objectives.

You will act as a critical friend, constructively challenging both the Board and the Executive team to develop the organisation’s capabilities.

You will enjoy advocating for our work and supporting our ambitious agenda to help cultural organisations across the UK and internationally to thrive through their use of cultural digital content.

Who we are looking for

For the finance specialist, you will provide oversight and review of relevant financial procedures, controls and policies, ensuring that the organisation is operating within a sound financial framework, managing risk appropriately, is compliant with its legal financial obligations and is accountable to the Board.

A strong familiarity with not for profit governance is beneficial, alongside experience overseeing public funding and a passion for arts, culture and technology.

For the generalist role, we are looking for a Non-Executive Director with senior experience and, ideally, previous board experience. You will be familiar with governance in the not for profit sector, alongside senior experience in either the arts, culture, and/or heritage sectors.

You will understand digital and/or broadcast content production and be an advocate for the benefits of using technology to increase equitable access to cultural content for audiences.

You will bring a creative, curious and entrepreneurial mindset, excited by The Space’s plans and committed to supporting its ambitions.

Our Voice are the parent carer forum for the London Borough of Enfield – a parent-led organisation whose work supports the families of children and young people aged 0 -25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, living or attending school in our borough.

We are currently in the process of applying to become a Registered Charity (Charitable Incorporated Organisation or CIO). This is a really important step to enable us to continue to grow and develop so that we can effectively support the families of Enfield.

We are seeking our first three trustees ready for our registration, and to help us ensure the good governance of our organisation once the registration has been completed. Trustees will play an absolutely critical role in helping us to move forward.

Join our ever expanding team of therapists to deliver face to face counselling to anyone over the age of 18 years, in South West London.

You will become part of an organisation that is passionate about providing support for the local community, along with therapists from a diverse range of backgrounds.

We ask for therapists to:

• Have completed at least 100 hours of face to face, supervised clinical experience completed. Relevant work / life experience will be considered.
• Be qualified to Level 5 diploma level or be enrolled on the 2nd year of a BACP or UKCP accredited course.
• Be able to commit to three clients a week, for a minimum of 2 years.
• Attend personal therapy throughout their placement while a trainee.
• Attend fortnightly Richmond AID supervision.
• Hold membership of their relevant awarding body

Are you a Clinical Supervisor interested in supporting counsellors and therapists?

Burning Nights CRPS Support has a highly skilled counselling and therapy team who provide counselling and psychotherapy to adults and children who have been affected by a debilitating pain condition, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). This team is expanding rapidly and we are now looking for 2 volunteer Clinical Supervisors to join this team ensuring we can continue the provision of our vital emotional support services to this community. We would ideally like to take on 2 Clinical Supervisor - with one supporting the therapists who specialise in CBT.

All our Counselling and therapy team help to develop our growing mental health support service for patients, families and carers affected by Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). As a volunteer with the CRPS Counselling & Therapy Service, your skills and experience as a Clinical Supervisor will be providing support to therapists who offer therapy to vulnerable individuals, many of whom are isolated and in need of mental health support.

Depending on your qualifications, skills and experience, you will provide group and 1-2-1 Supervision support for counsellors or psychotherapists who provide counselling support or specialist services, such as general talking (person centred) therapies, integrative therapists, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for CRPS patients, their loved ones and carers. The service currently offers specialist support to anyone over the age of 5 who is affected by CRPS.

Key Tasks and Objectives

• Facilitate Clinical Supervision group sessions on a monthly basis (online) and ideally be able to offer at least 1 or 2 supervisees on 1-2-1 basis mainly trainees

• Administer this supervision from invitation through to record keeping

• Take part in complex case allocation meetings with the Clinical Lead

• Maintain appropriate clinical records of all work and to report, along with any concerns on individuals or their practice to the Clinical Lead

• Commitment to ongoing supervision of supervision practice at Burning Nights CRPS Support as well as engaging in separate own personal supervision as/if appropriate

• Work flexibly as part of a small team as necessary to provide maximum coverage for supervision, such as in the event of emergencies

• Abide by all Burning Nights CRPS Support policies and procedures

• Adhere to BACP, BABCP (or other appropriate therapies governing body) Ethical Framework

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• Psychotherapy/Counselling qualification with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a similar field

• Qualification in Clinical Supervision - ideally level 7 or above (could also suit experienced counsellors who require a placement during Clinical Supervision placement, or experienced counsellors wishing to gain experience in supervision)

• Accreditation/registration (or working at the level of or towards this qualification) as a Supervisor with BACP/HCPC/BABCP or equivalent

• Significant proven experience of supervising individual counsellors/psychotherapists from a range of training backgrounds 

• Appropriate and proven clinical experience of working with clients with a range of difficulties including complex medical health issues, loss and bereavement. Ideally experience of working with clients living with or affected by chronic pain or chronic conditions

• Willingness to engage in any Burning Nights CRPS Support training

• Understanding of issues regarding confidentiality and management of risk within a counselling service

• Good administrative skills

• Understanding of the voluntary sector

• Commitment to on-going engagement in personal supervision

• Knowledgeable of and committed to equalities’ provision

Desirable:

• Appropriate and proven clinical experience of working with clients living with or affected by chronic pain or chronic conditions

• Being able to supervise therapists who work in therapy such as CBT, ACT, EMDR etc

• Experience of working within a low-cost / free voluntary sector counselling setting

• Experience of working within the voluntary charity sector
