Volunteering with Victim Support in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent
As a Volunteer in Staffordshire/Stoke-on-Trent your role will include:
Working within the Domestic Abuse Team promoting the services to partner agencies across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. Attending partner engagement events in the community to raise awareness of the profile of VS across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. Delivering professionals training to partners to raise awareness of Domestic Abuse. This role will increase your communication and presentation skills, organisation skills and your knowledge around Domestic Abuse. You will have the opportunity to meet other volunteers locally in our quarterly meetings and have the option to engage in community events to promote our services.
What we ask of you?
In order to join us as a Community Engagement Volunteer, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or over
- Be able to volunteer for at least 4 hours per month, for at least 12 months
- Complete a Community Engagement workbook
- Undertake a DBS check
- Undertake a police vetting
- Be able to provide two satisfactory references
Expenses
- All Victim Support volunteers are entitled to out-of-pocket expenses incurred whilst volunteering, including travel and lunch.
