As we expand, we are seeking a London-based Strategic Director to join our leadership team. This is a pivotal role for someone passionate about influencing policy, scaling impact, and ensuring organisational sustainability. As Strategic Director, you will provide high-level oversight, driving ViC’s vision, sustainability, and sector influence. You will work alongside the existing leadership team to develop partnerships, strengthen governance, and position ViC as a leading force in care-experienced advocacy and professional training.
Key Responsibilities
- Vision & Leadership: Shape ViC’s long-term strategy, ensuring growth and sustainability.
- Governance & Compliance: Uphold best practices in CIC governance, safeguarding, and ethical leadership.
- Financial Oversight: Support funding strategies, income diversification, and financial resilience.
- Partnership & Influence: Build relationships with funders, policymakers, and key stakeholders to expand ViC’s reach and sector impact.
- Innovation & Growth: Identify opportunities for service expansion, funding bids, and strategic collaborations.
- Lived Experience Integration: Ensure young people’s voices remain central to ViC’s work and decision-making.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, particularly those with lived experience of the care system. Ideal candidates will have expertise in at least one of the following areas:
✔ Strategic leadership in social enterprises, charities, or impact-driven organisations
✔ Experience in policy, governance, or social innovation
✔ Financial management and fundraising, with a track record of securing grants/contracts
✔ Youth work, social care, or education sector expertise
✔ Business development and scaling social impact initiatives
✔ Advocacy, PR, or influencing policy at local/national levels
Essential Skills & Attributes
- London-based or able to attend occasional in-person meetings
- A strategic thinker with a passion for social change
- Knowledge of the challenges faced by care-experienced young people
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
- Experience in securing funding, forming partnerships, or driving organisational growth
