About the role

The UK Sea Scout Team Leader serves as the national advisor for all Sea Scout Groups and UK Scouts teams. This pivotal role supports UK Scouts teams to ensure the continued success and development of Sea Scouting across the UK. The UK Sea Scout Team Leader will also oversee Royal Navy Accreditation processes, deliver water-based training programmes, and foster engagement with water activities within land-based Scouting groups.

 

Key tasks

  • Act as the primary national advisor for Sea Scout Groups, offering guidance and support to ensure growth, development, and compliance with Scouting standards.
  • Collaborate with UK Scouts teams to enhance Sea Scouting operations and strategic goals, ensuring a strong presence within national Scouting initiatives.
  • Support the Royal Navy Accreditation process with the UK Liaison to the Military, ensuring Sea Scout Groups meet the required standards and maintain strong links with naval partners. 
  • Develop, support, and deliver Water Training Programmes in partnership with the National Sea Scout Support Teams to enhance water-based skills across the organisation.
  • Line manage the Deep Sea Scout and Admiral Lord Nelson Scout Support Team Leaders, offering leadership and direction to ensure smooth operations and development. 
  • Maintain up-to-date training relevant to the role, fulfilling all mandatory Scouting training requirements.
  • Lead efforts to create and implement a well-communicated, national approach to Sea Scout training and programme activities, ensuring these are accessible to all Sea Scouts and integrated within land-based Scouting programmes.
