About the role
The UK Based Jamborees Team Lead plays a vital role in promoting and supporting international participation in UK-led Jamborees. This role will oversee the endorsement process for non-UK national adults attending UK-led jamborees, promote UK-based Jamborees to the global Scouting community, and ensure best practice in safety, safeguarding, and global programme integration.
This role is key in ensuring that international participants and UK organisers are well-prepared, supported, and aligned with UK Scouting standards for safety and safeguarding.
Key tasks
- Oversee the endorsement process for non-UK national adults attending UK-led Scouting events, ensuring all applications meet UK safeguarding and safety requirements.
- Promote UK-based Jamborees globally, encouraging international participation and engagement.
- Support event organisers with best practices in safe from harm, and global programme integration.
- Distribute promotional materials to raise awareness of UK Jamborees within international Scouting networks.
- Work with the UK International Team to align event promotion with other global Scouting initiatives.
- Support efforts to increase awareness of UK-based Scouting events within global Scouting communities, including representation at international events and online promotion.
- Actively contribute to the Large Events Forum.
