We seek a director with financial experience to join our board of directors. Joining us means joining a Board responsible for the strategic direction of The Hospice Lottery Partnership.

Who we are

The Hospice Lottery Partnership was formed in 1997 to raise funds for our partner charities who care for people in their community when they need it most, via a weekly lottery and seasonal Superdraw Raffles. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise company, returning all our operational surpluses to the charities we support.

The Organisation

The Hospice Lottery Partnership was formed in 1997 to raise funds for our partner charities who care for people in their community when they need it most via a weekly lottery and seasonal Superdraw Raffles. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise company, returning all our operational surpluses to the charities we support. This was 58% of our total income in the last financial year. Since The Hospice Lottery Partnership launched, we have grown to over thirty-nine thousand players, who in turn have helped to donate over £18 million straight to our partner charities’ funds.

The Role

We are interested in receiving applications from individuals keen to provide strategic and financial direction to our organisation. Responsibilities include:

• Ensure the organisation complies with its governing documents and other relevant legislation or regulations.
• Ensure the organisation applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objectives.
• Give firm strategic direction to the organisation to help ensure its financial sustainability and growth.
• Ensure the Board receives accurate, adequate, and timely financial information.

Person Specification

In addition to the above, we would welcome applications from individuals with this approach and experience:

• Strong financial acumen, including financial planning, management, and strategy.
• Familiarity with financial reporting requirements and regulatory compliance
• Knowledge of financial and broader risk management and the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Proven ability to communicate and explain financial information to members of the Board and other stakeholders.
