The individual appointed to this role will be expected to work within the policy and procedures and attend all required training.  

Name of church/body: St Mary’s Church

Role title: Visitor Hospitality - Welcome/Greeter

Main purpose of the role: To welcome volunteers and visitors eg families arriving for weekly lunches and say goodbye after.

What you will be doing: 

  • To (receive key) open up (unlock) St Mary’s Crypt for events eg family lunch and welcome and greet volunteers and families on arrival (signing in/checking records) and lock/close up safely (key holder- to return as needed).
  • Also to purchase basic supplies as agreed as needed eg, milk (at no expense to volunteers)

When and where you will be doing it:

  • St Mary’s Crypt
  • From 1- 4 times a month, probably Monday/Tuesday (approx 3 hours)
  • + 1 team meeting per term

Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Requirements:

  • Enhanced child and adult check
  • Who you will be responsible to: Rev Catherine Shelley , Lucy Tull and the organising team; and overall to the PCC (trustees)

Training requirements: 

  • Induction
  • Safeguarding online or in person
  • Support you will be given
  • Induction, training, regular check in and termly meeting
