CIEH governance appointments
We’re excited to offer a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of CIEH. We’re looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Membership, Learning and the Profession Advisory Group (MLPAG) and Welfare Fund Committee.
Membership, Learning and the Profession Advisory Group (MLPAG)
The key responsibilities of the Group are to:
- Support the Board by contributing to the review and formulation of strategy in relation to membership and the wider profession
- Recommend policies for member recruitment. engagement, retention and services
- Review the CPD scheme, including regulations and guidance for members
- Ensure robust, transparent and fair policy for implementation of CIEH's ethical codes
- Advise the Board on membership grades, fee structures and entry criteria
- Assist CIEH in building strong and positive relationships with the Higher Education and Further Education community.
- Report to the Board on quality assurance compliance.
We are looking to appointment three non-members to MLPAG:
- One role is open to non-members with experience in developing membership services
- Two roles are open to academics in the field of environmental health (who may or may not be CIEH members). One of the academic appointments will take immediate effect, the other from January 2026
Welfare Fund Committee
The key responsibilities of the Committee are to:
- Assess, consider and determine applications for awards made by the Fund
- Ensure a clear and transparent process for grant approval
- Ensure appropriate provision for data management and the confidentiality of applications
We are looking to make one non-member appointment to the Welfare Fund Committee:
- This role is open to non-members, ideally with experience in grant-making to individual beneficiaries
