Job description

We are looking for people who can be the face of Mencap by inspiring your community to get involved in raising vital funds. We have a one off bucket collection taking place across England and Wales following our recent partnership with Omaze. The bucket collection will help to raise Mencap's profile and will raise vital funds that will all go towards supporting people with a learning disability.

You amazing fundraisers, will be based at our retail stores, so are encouraged to pop inside for a cuppa and biscuits. There will be a briefing on the day and you will be provided with a Mencap T-shirt and a fundraising bucket for the duration of your shift. Just 3 hours of your time could make a huge difference.

As a Mencap Volunteer you will be:

  • Friendly and Approachable
  • Reliable, Kind and Patient
  • A good communicator (including listener)
  • Willing to volunteer within guidelines and to take direction where necessary
  • Accepting of others who might be different to yourself

As a Mencap volunteer you will:

  • Make new friends
  • Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses in line with our policy e.g. travel
  • Full Training and support
  • Volunteer alongside our experienced Fundraising/ Retail teams
  • A chance to give back your local community
