Job description

Why we want you

Welcomers are the first people visitors meet on arrival at the museum. We want every visitor to feel welcomed and included in our museum and we can only achieve that from the diverse contributions of our volunteers. You don’t need to be a super-fan of design, you just need to be curious and open to learn.  

 

Tasks will include

·          Welcome and greet visitors

·          Share information and answer questions

·          Help to manage queues and busy spaces

·          Assist staff in keeping everyone safe

 

Welcomer shift options

Welcomers each have their own regular volunteering shift. Options for volunteering are:

·        morning (10.00 – 1.00), or afternoon (1.00 – 4.00)

·        once a week (Mon-Fri), or once a fortnight (Sat or Sun)

We ask that applicants consider a commitment of at least 6 months.

 

The skills you need

The museum is looking for people with:

·          A Friendly and enthusiastic manner

·          A proactive approach

·          Willingness to learn

·          Ability to keep calm during busy times

·          Ability to stay motivated during quieter times

·          Confidence communicating in English
