Trustees x 2; 1 with Accountancy background; 1 with Health/Social Care background

London, Greater London (On-site)
Unpaid role, expenses paid
Voluntary
Job description

Our Board of Trustees are key to our continued success, and we will shortly have gaps in two areas of expertise which we want to fill.

We are looking for 2 new trustees:

  • a Chair for our Audit and Risk Committee, who has a sound understanding of financial management and wider risk management, with an accountancy background and strong governance, audit, control and risk experience (ideally in a regulated social housing environment),

and additionally

  • a Trustee with a strong medical, public health, mental health or social care background.

In both cases we need you to be passionate about our purpose and truly embody our values to be empowering, inclusive, creative, committed and accountable.

We particularly welcome applications from individuals from the Global Majority and women, as they are currently under-represented on our Board.

Balancing innovation and impact we seek trustees who will be comfortable acting as an ambassador for St Mungo’s when required, supporting us to nurture effective relationships externally.

St Mungo’s is a leading homelessness charity with the purpose to end homelessness and rebuild lives. Driven by our new Organisational Strategy, we have two missions: delivering services that help people recover from homelessness, for good; and influencing for system change, advocating on behalf of our clients. We deliver services that help people away from the streets, provide accommodation to those who have found themselves homeless, and offer support to help people recover from the effects of homelessness.

Homelessness is increasing. Close to 4,000 people are sleeping rough across England every night, and almost 80,000 households are homeless or at risk of it. We play an important role in addressing this and as a member of our Board you will play a critical part in helping us to effect genuine change.

If you are excited by either of these opportunities and are passionate about what we do, we would love to hear from you. You can read more about us in the candidate pack which is available in the Documents section at the bottom of this advert.
