Our board of trustees provides governance, strategic direction, and oversight to ensure that our charity remains focused on its mission. We are seeking an individual with expertise in finance and accounting (preferably within the charity sector), to provide oversight of the charity’s finances, provide financial leadership to the Finance Director and Senior Leadership Team, and drive development of the charity.
The Treasurer is a key member of the charity's Board of Trustees, responsible for overseeing the charity's financial health and ensuring that its financial practices align with legal and regulatory requirements. The Treasurer plays a vital role in ensuring the charity is well-managed, transparent, and sustainable by providing financial oversight, guidance, and strategic direction to the Board and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight:
- Ensure that the charity's financial systems and records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with legal and regulatory standards (e.g., Charity Commission, HMRC).
- Monitor the charity’s income, expenditure, cash flow, and financial reporting.
- Review and approve financial reports, including balance sheets, income and expenditure statements, and cash flow forecasts.
- Prepare and present financial summaries and reports for Board meetings, in conjunction with the Finance Director.
- Budgeting and Financial Planning:
- Oversee the preparation of the charity's annual budget, in collaboration with the Executive team and the Board.

- External Audit and Reporting:
- Oversee the annual external audit/independent review process, liaising with auditors and ensuring that any recommendations are acted upon.
- Ensure timely submission of annual accounts to the Charity Commission and other statutory bodies.
- Sign the charity's annual financial statements and ensure the charity meets all reporting deadlines.
- Strategic Financial Advice:
- Provide financial expertise and advice to the Board on strategic decisions, helping the Board to make informed decisions based on sound financial analysis.

- Mentor and support staff or volunteers responsible for the charity’s day-to-day financial management.

Key Skills and Experience:
- Financial Expertise: Experience in financial management, preferably within a charity or not-for-profit environment.
- Professional Qualification: A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or significant experience in financial oversight.

Role Profile
As Chair of the Charity, you will have the responsibilities of a Trustee, lead the Board of Trustee’s, set strategic direction and oversee the organisation. The responsibilities of the role include:

Person Specification
In addition to the person specification for a trustee, the Chair should have the following qualities.

It would also be desirable for the chair to have a background and experience in social care, education or youth sectors. A wider involvement with the voluntary sector and other networks is also helpful.

Terms of Appointment
Time Commitment
- Attend quarterly board meetings from 5pm – 7pm,.
- Attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) once per year.
- From time to time or as needed, attend one of our sub-committees so that you can gain a good insight into the Charity’s day to day activities and support the team. Sub-committees meet once a quarter, usually 2 weeks before the Trustee Board meeting.
- Get involved in other activities depending on your skills / interests / preferences.
- Attend meetings or visits with the CEO and our staff to ensure we all stay close to the services we are providing.
- Support with matters and or decisions where necessary between meetings.
- Meetings are currently held in person with the option online.
We understand and respect that people who are working full-time and/or have family/other responsibilities may not be able to travel to the meetings in person sometimes.
Chair/ Trustees are appointed for a three-year term at a time which can be extended twice, meaning a maximum of nine years.

It is important to note that pre-appointment declarations will be requested to ensure that applicants have not been disqualified by law from acting as a trustee.
We will also need to carry out an enhanced DBS check, prior to appointment along with reference checks and other due diligence.

Childline Volunteer Counsellor- Someone who wants to make a difference to children’s lives by being there to listen when they feel they have no one else to turn to. As a Childline counsellor, you’ll be there for young people and listen to them as they open up about whatever is worrying them, whether it’s bullying, abuse, self-harm or family relationships – you’ll be there to support them.
What you’ll do
You’ll volunteer in our Leeds Childline base, offering counselling support to children and young people over the phone or through our 1-2-1 online chat. Your supervisor will help you develop and evaluate your counselling skills. After your initial training, you will be able to help young people as well as identify when a child or young person may be at risk, but don’t worry a supervisor will be on hand to give you plenty of support.
What you’ll get
You’ll receive training sessions over 12 weeks to prepare you for the role. When you start your regular shifts, a supervisor will be around all times to support you. Every shift includes a briefing and debriefing alongside other volunteers. Supervisors will also give you regular one-to-one support and group supervisions.
What we’ll need from you
Signing up to be a Childline counsellor is a big commitment and requires lots of training so, we do ask people to stay in the role for a minimum of one year.
We’ll also need to do some routine safeguarding checks, including an enhanced criminal record check and at least two satisfactory references with at least one covering a period of five years or more with no gaps. It’s nothing to worry about, and we can answer any questions you have about this.

Pan Arts is a leading force in using the arts to inspire social change. We are looking for new trustees to join the Board with experience in Press/Media, Safeguarding, Arts Administration and Psychology.
Pan Intercultural Arts uses the arts to rekindle creativity and imagination in people who have been through extreme events in their lives which have reduced those vital elements. Working with survivors of trafficking, refugees, asylum seekers and young people in special education situations, we imagine and explore alternative pathways to change lives.
This is an exciting time to be joining the Pan Board of Trustees. In September 2025 we will be announcing our next 4 year business plan and starting celebrations as we approach Pan’s 40th.
Trustees attend quarterly trustee meetings, assist with fundraising and networking and represent us at events. We also expect them to dedicate small amounts of time to work with individual staff members on their area of expertise and visit the projects to understand the work. We are particularly looking for candidates with experience in Press/Media, Safeguarding, Arts Administration and Psychology.
Being a trustee is a voluntary position and an interest in the issues facing our work and a commitment to the role is essential, although no prior experience of being a trustee is required.

We are looking for Activities Volunteers to help support us in our uplifting group session activities, tasks will include:
•Welcoming visitors and service users to the hub, helping them sign in, directing them to the hub space, helping service users to engage within a group setting, helping with any activity sessions that take place on or off the premises.
•Help to create a varied programme of activities.
•To offer a safe and comfortable experience for all service user, showing awareness of service users’ varying physical and mental well-being needs.

This role requires maturity, and an ability to engage with female adults in a trauma informed way, while working alongside staff members to deliver the service in line with agreed procedures and systems.

•Be female as this role is restricted for females under the Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010
•Be able to get to the group session which is based outside of Birmingham City Centre
•Be computer literate and have a good standard of spoken and written English
•Be willing to have an enhanced DBS check
•Have knowledge and understanding of human trafficking issues or willingness to learn
•Have an understanding of the importance of professional boundaries in the role

You will support people to access healthcare and overcome barriers, providing much-needed practical support. Your time will be split working in our Stratford (East London) Clinic, Outreach Services in East London, and on our remote Advice Line and Casework.
You will be the first point of contact for patients in a health promotion setting, you will listen to peoples’ needs and identify other support services. You will be helping patients with GP registration and administration needs & advocating on their behalf to NHS services. You will be taking on in depth and complex casework where patients may face significant barriers to accessing healthcare. You will be completing data collection forms with the patient and responding to queries on our advice line.
