Bereavement Telephone Support Volunteer
Actively Interviewing
This organisation is scheduling interviews as applications come in. They're ready to hire as soon as they find the right person. Don't miss your opportunity, apply now!
Getting the right support at the right time can make the world of difference as people try to navigate their way through their grief.
In the challenging times that follow the death of a patient, we want to ensure that we continue to support families, friends and relatives as they cope with their loss. To help with the continuity of our care our Bereavement Telephone Volunteers (Televols) contact next of kin and other family members bereaved of someone under the care of the Hospice to check in on their wellbeing.
You’ll have excellent listening skills and have your own desktop/laptop with a stable internet connection. You will expected to contact approximately 15 individuals a month from your home (calls can vary in length and it can take several attempts to make contact) and to attend a bi-monthly meeting at the Hospice (first Tuesday of every month from 5pm to 6.30pm).
Role specific group training will be held in the hospice on 21 and 22 January 2025. You will also need to complete additional online and face-to-face training later on.
We are encouraging early applications with a deadline of 27 October 2024.
If you’re motivated by the idea of joining a community where your time will make a difference to those who have experienced bereavement, we’d to hear from you!
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
