Role and Responsibilities
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Oversee the recruitment process of volunteers and later staff, including role postings, interviews, and selection. Ensure new hires are effectively onboarded and integrated into SUNSHINE.

Training and Development: Develop and implement training programmes to enhance volunteer and team skills and knowledge. Identify opportunities for professional growth and career development.

Employee/Volunteer Relations: Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee/volunteer concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting open communication. Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Performance Management: Implement performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee/volunteer performance. Provide feedback and support to help employees/volunteers achieve their goals and improve their performance.

East London Waterworks Park is looking for volunteer managers to develop and manage meaningful and sustainable volunteer experiences.
East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.
We are looking for volunteer managers to contribute to our community-led working group who are developing and managing meaningful and sustainable volunteer experiences within East London Waterworks Park.
There is opportunity to lead on projects in communications and governance, and facilitate the direction of the working group.
The Comms Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.
You should be experienced in developing and managing meaningful and sustainable volunteer experiences with a range of different roles. Strong organisational and interpersonal skills are essential. They engage with staff and volunteer stakeholders across the movement, promoting innovation and continuous improvement to benefit volunteers at all levels of Scouting.
Local Governance Team
Roles available: Team Leader, Team Members
The Local Governance Team supports local trustees and volunteers in the Scouts by providing governance support, such as inductions for chairs and national webinars with updates. They review and develop resources to help trustees comply with UK legislation and work closely with the Scout Support Centre to address governance inquiries from volunteers.
Safe Scouting Team

The Safe Scouting Team ensures safe and effective Scouting by guiding lead volunteers, providing necessary resources, and maintaining compliance with mandatory learning. They develop and oversee complaints, restrictions, and resolutions, and support local scouting assurance by implementing Scouts rules and procedures movement-wide.
Volunteer Journey Team

The Volunteer Journey Team aims to ensure an excellent experience for Scouts volunteers. They partner with the Growth & Communities team to develop resources to attract and recruit volunteers, ensuring a welcoming joining process. This team also supports team-based volunteering structures, provides resources, and maintains a positive volunteer culture. They oversee volunteer review processes and manage recognition schemes to make volunteers feel valued.
Volunteer Learning Team

The Volunteer Learning Team supports the delivery of a high-quality learning experience for all Scouts volunteers. They support local Volunteering Development Teams by making learning engaging, relevant, and valued. The team enhances the Scouts' learning offer by creating new content, developing skills for learning leaders, and providing tools and resources for consistent quality across local scouting.
UK Scouts Volunteer Support Team

The UK Scouts Volunteer Support Team develops and supports volunteers involved in UK teams and projects, including the appointment of County/Area/Regional Lead Volunteers. They partner with national teams for inclusive recruitment, provide a warm welcome, and offer ongoing learning opportunities to foster collaboration between volunteers and staff. The team also ensures effective recognition processes to value volunteers, and works closely with leaders to maintain a high-quality volunteer experience.

You Make It (YMI) is a dynamic, award winning and evolving race and class inclusion organisation that runs 4 month long holistic empowerment programmes for young unemployed and underemployed women largely from Hackney and Tower Hamlets. Our participants are Black and Asian, and all are from working class backgrounds. We have continued to grow since our formation by the CEO in 2011 and have continued to generate incredible support from a range of credible funders. In addition, we are focused on dismantling racism while generating earned income through growing a range of partnerships as well as exploring new channels through which to deliver our established You Change It programme- a successful anti-racism allyship initiative aimed at employers and pioneered by our CEO in 2020.

About you
As a trustee you must have a strong commitment to YMI’s mission and be aligned to our core values which are self-empowerment, integrity, social equality, dynamism and creativity. You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, experience in governance or management, have high integrity and ability to think strategically. You understand why we need to exist in the context of race inequality and the injustices that our community experiences.
Those from communities who have lived experience of racial marginalisation are underrepresented at board level, and so we are especially keen to hear from trustees from these backgrounds.
We’re particularly keen to hear from individuals from an HR, Legal or Philanthropy background, as well as anyone with experience of acting as a Charity Trustee elsewhere.
Key responsibilities

Governance and Financial Oversight: Alongside the wider board and leadership, ensure the charity operates in accordance with policy, legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. Principal Responsibilities
• Maintain a comprehensive overview of trends and developments on women's human rights globally;
• Must be able to submit a minimum of two (2) articles a month for publication;
• Verify accuracy of facts and obtain supplemental material and additional details from files, reference libraries, and
interviews with knowledgeable sources;
• Organise material and report conforming to specified length, style, and format requirements;
• Interview people in a range of different circumstances as needed;
•Build contacts to maintain a flow of news, for example, police and emergency services, local council, community groups, health trusts, press officers from a variety of organisations, the general public, etc;
• Work closely with the Proxy team to produce concise and accurate copy according to our house style;

Requirements
• 4+ years' experience in research and /or reporting;

For over seventy years the Osteopathic Foundation (formerly the Osteopathic Education Foundation) has been supporting osteopathic education, research, and development through our grant-giving programmes. Since 2000, we have distributed over £1 million of support to advance osteopathic practice in its contribution to patient care.
We are seeking a new non-executive to join our committee to aid this important work.
You should have broad experience and a practical attitude with a proven track record, ideally in the charitable sector, with experience in one or more of; fund & financial management, familiarity with higher education & research, reviewing grant applications, and/or fundraising.
Osteopathic or medical experience is not a prerequisite for this role, but interest in health and patient care is welcome.
The Committee meets quarterly online/in person to approve grants, monitor investment performance and report on activities. Please see the attached role specification for full details of the responsibilities.

The Osteopathic Foundation (oF) has a proud history of supporting the development of osteopathy spanning over 40 years. Initially established as the Osteopathic Education Foundation to support students in financial need, it is today under the trusteeship of the Institute of Osteopathy (iO), during which time its impact has extended significantly to support the advancement of the osteopathic profession in its contribution to patient care.
The iO, as the lead body in the profession, has a clear and mandated mission to improve patient care by supporting and developing the education and practice of osteopathy, and universal access to osteopathic care. We are looking for volunteers from across London.
User Voice, a charity run by and for people with lived experience of the criminal justice system, in partnership with the NHS, have a fantastic opportunity for people with experience of prison and/or NHS Liaison and Diversion services in the last 12 months, currently living London
Successful applicants will join our existing London delivery team, working alongside liked minded peers, working in both prison and community settings, to embed lived experience into the evaluation, design and commissioning of health justice services across London.
Volunteers will have full training, which includes Peer Research Skills, Research Methods, Safeguarding Adults, Mental Health Awareness, Equity Diversion & Inclusion and General Data Protection Requirements (GDPR).
Volunteers will be working as part of a team to gain an insight into healthcare in prison and in the community, and will work in probation offices, prisons and third parties to engage with service users to get their honest feedback on healthcare services that are provided or that they have been sign posted to. They will get to work directly and collaboratively with the NHS Health and Justice London team, prison governors and probation directors to create ideas for change, training tools, review policies/procedures and help to implement any changes that are made on the back of the feedback we receive.
Tasks include:
• Undertake a range of activities to support the projects progress.
• Engaging and communicating with service users in prison and the community.
• Collecting information on common issues faced by service users and staff.
• Presenting identified issues and suggested solutions to the NHS.
• Making sure that identified key issues are prioritised.
• Ensuring that the service user population is kept up to date with the projects progress.
• Contribute to the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new volunteers.
• Effective, safe, and secure data collection for monitoring purposes
• Promote the value of lived experience to all stakeholders.

Nottingham Playhouse is governed by a Board of Trustees, whose expertise and care guide the decisions and actions of the organisation. The Board of Trustees meets 6 times a year in Nottingham, with occasional subgroup meetings. Trustees also attend press nights for each in-house production and other Nottingham Playhouse activities whenever possible.
To compliment the skills of our current Trustees, we are now seeking passionate and effective advocates for the arts with particular expertise in Equality, Diversity & Inclusion or Finance, to proactively support and contribute to the work of the Board.

Responsibilities
Operations and Coordination
Coordinate day-to-day operations to ensure the smooth functioning of the organisation.
Provide guidance, support, and feedback to staff and volunteers to maximise their effectiveness.
