Job description

Become a Trustee at The Maggie Oliver Foundation and help transform the pain of abuse into power.

Applications close at 9 a.m. Wednesday 9th April.

Location: Virtual / Hybrid

Who we are.

The Maggie Oliver Foundation (TMOF) exists to create a society where survivors and those at risk of childhood sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) are empowered to live fulfilled and successful lives, where every survivor is treated with dignity, respect, and as an equal and valued member of society.

We support adult survivors and their loved ones in transforming the pain of their abuse into strength, helping them recognise their own resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, build self-confidence, and embrace positive opportunities for the future.

The Board

Our Board currently consists of seven Trustees. As we look forward to the future and approach the end of our current strategic plan this year, we are keen to strengthen our board to continue creating a positive impact for those who have experienced sexual abuse and exploitation and to shape our new strategic plan.

Who we are looking for.

We’re looking for two enthusiastic Trustees to join our Board, bringing knowledge and expertise in the following areas:

  • governance and strategic development
  • communications and crisis management

Above all, we need Trustees who are committed, engaged, and ready to play an active role in planning and driving these areas forward.

Time Commitment and Term of Office:

Our Board meets at least every three months for up to three hours remotely. Papers for review ahead of the meetings are circulated the week before. Trustees might also be asked to participate in discussions with staff members between meetings where their expertise could be helpful in a certain situation.

Expect time commitment to be perhaps on average a couple of days a month. This is inclusive of preparation and attendance of board meetings, any ad hoc conversations with other trustees or the executive team, and any events you are able to attend.
