About the role.

Joining the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) as a Lay Trustee offers a unique opportunity to contribute to advancing dental nurse education and qualifications across the UK. In this role, Lay Trustees support NEBDN’s commitment to excellence in education, assessments, and professional development for dental nurses. You will be responsible for contributing to NEBDN’s governance, helping to shape its strategic direction, and upholding the organisation’s values and mission.

Who we are looking for.

NEBDN is seeking three individuals who are motivated to shape dental nurse education strategically, able to challenge constructively, listen actively, and make balanced decisions that contribute to the organisation’s long-term success.

The ideal candidates will have a collaborative approach and experience in healthcare, education, or related fields, particularly in roles involving regulatory processes, educational assessment, or apprenticeships. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to NEBDN’s mission are essential, enabling Trustees to effectively support high standards in dental nurse training and advocate for professional growth nationwide.

Candidates with a positive and engaging demeanour that aligns with NEBDN’s welcoming and principled board culture are especially suited to this role. An open, forward-thinking mindset and a dedication to NEBDN’s strategic goals will be key to success in these positions.

While prior governance experience is not required, it would be advantageous.
