About the Role

Role type: Voluntary role, travel expenses reimbursed

Location: Remote, open to applicants resident in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man

Accountable to: Accreditation Team Lead

The purpose of your role is to support Nightlines in meeting the Association’s Nightline Quality Standards(NQS). You will have a caseload for about 10 nightlines across England, Scotland and Wales helping them to begin the accreditation process either for the very first time, their annual checklist or their 3-yearly accreditation update. 

You will explain the NQS accreditation process to Nightlines and provide them with the NQS Questionnaire. Following the response from the Nightline, you will be responsible for checking submitted policies and procedures, and where needed provide feedback on how a Nightline can be NQS compliant. 

You will sit within the Services Department in the Accreditation Team, whose purpose is to execute the NQS Accreditation Process across all Nightlines affiliated with the Nightline Association, research industry best practice, and recommend changes to the Quality Standards as necessary.

Your line manager will be the Accreditation Team Lead.

Activities and Responsibilities

  • Provide feedback to Nightlines with notes for them to amend in order to become NQS compliant

  • Respond to a Nightline with feedback within 28 days

  • Keep in regular contact with Nightlines to ensure they can meet deadlines for the checklist and reaccreditation 

  • ​Chase Nightlines who are behind deadlines with emails and through facebook and offering Google Meet sessions to help speed up the process 

  • Work with the other members of the team, contributing ideas and feedback on their work as required​

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience with a Nightline or a similar organisation​

Desirable

  • Previous experience with the Accreditation Process

Competencies

Essential

  • Good standard of written English​

  • Highly developed organisational skills​     

  • Ability to work independently and manage own workload​

  • IT Skills sufficient to use Google Docs and Gmail​    

  • Ability to communicate via email in an approachable and professional manner​     

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of and commitment to the Association’s values and to supporting and developing the Nightline community

Desirable

  • An understanding of the different ways in which Nightlines can operate
