Job description

Community Day Listening Volunteer - Yeovil MIND

Wednesdays 10am-4pm (2/4/6 hours within this time frame acceptable)

Ideally we are looking for someone who is training to be a Counsellor or studying Health and Social Care and is looking for some work experience surrounding Mental Health.

The role is not counselling sessions but a compassionate ear for individuals to talk too, who are not comfortable sharing within a group.

Personal Skills and Qualities that will be beneficial:

·        Lived experience

·        Works well as part of a team

·        Mental health issues knowledge

Tasks and Responsibilities:

·        Spending 30-40 minutes with clients on a one-to-one basis

·        Listening to clients and signposting to relevant agencies

·        Collaborating with a team of volunteers
