As an online “ At Home” Volunteer, you will be working with people from a wide variety of countries and cultures, all believing in passing on the right to basic education, the importance of cultural exchange, and giving voice to the voiceless.
The Position: We ask Volunteers to contribute a minimum of one hour a month. Within our Human Resource Division you will be learning to process applicants from around the world, assigning them to appropriate Teams and coordinating the Team Leads training sessions and monthly meetings. While English is required, you will learn to be comfortable with various global accents as well as proficient in your Interviewing skills and background research. You will practice team organizing & management skills. Depending on which teams you join, you will learn non profit contracts, global time zone coordination and other very basic, practical skills when working with people Internationally and online.

Main duties of the role
· Hold a portfolio of work across a range of resourcing areas for the charity.
· Collaborate closely with the Head of Resources, providing information, insight, and guidance for the effective delivery of key strategy objectives across finance, HR, Governance, fundraising and IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
· To provide financial information including management accounts with analysis, forecasting and insightful commentary to internal and external stakeholders.
· To support the annual budgeting process.
· To maintain financial procedures and controls.
· To support managers to make decisions based on forecasts and budgets, providing challenge and financial expertise where necessary.
HR
· Undertake and deliver all HR transactional administration including recruitment, selection, appointment, induction and exit interviews.
· Support production of HR reporting to Senior Management Team and Trustees on a regular basis including staff sickness, diversity, complaints, grievances, disciplinary, turn-over, training, appraisal etc.
· Support Head of Resources on welfare support to staff to include internal promotion of staff benefits and liaison with external providers.
Governance
· Support the preparation and circulation of Board meeting papers and packs.
· Provide organisational and administrative support to the Senior Management Team and be the single point of contact for the Trustees.
Other Duties
· Assist as required with the co-ordination of YSS events.
· To take responsibility for keeping own knowledge up to date on relevant legislation and strategies that affect YSS services.
· To understand and actively promote the vision, values and profile of YSS.
· To uphold the highest standards of professionalism at all times, ensuring that EDI principles are adhered to.
· To maintain continuity of cover for holidays and sickness.
· To ensure all work is carried out in a safe and appropriate manner and in accordance with YSS policies and procedures e.g. lone working, health and safety, child and adult protection, risk, confidentiality etc.
· To undertake any other tasks of a similar level of responsibility as requested by the Head of Resources.

Trustee Role: Purpose
This is a voluntary role.

Key Accountabilities:

· Ensure effective management of resources and risk.

· Bring professional expertise and personal experience to the Board.
Time Commitment:
· The Board generally holds meetings on the last Monday of every month, 10 times a year. These normally take place in the early evening and last approximately 1 – 1.5 hours. Most meetings happen face to face at our central location in the city of Colchester.
· Trustees also support the Trust events as part of their ambassadorial role as well as making make some visits to its services.
· A minimum of a 3 year term commitment would be expected from Trustees.

The Pelvic Radiation Disease Association (PRDA) is looking for a Chair of Trustees to provide strategic leadership for the charity, working in partnership with our Operations Manager and supported by a committed team of Trustees.
Who we are
Pelvic Radiation Disease (PRD) is a long-term side-effect (‘late effect’) of pelvic radiotherapy treatment affecting an estimated 100,000 people in the UK. People affected by PRD often have a complex set of symptoms affecting the bowel, bladder, sexual function or other functions for many years after radiotherapy, sometimes only appearing several years after radiotherapy treatment
PRDA is a small UK charity whose objectives are to see that the effects of PRD are minimised, that people affected by PRD are given the best possible care and treatment, and that PRD is accepted as a serious problem and given the attention it deserves.
Duties of the Chair
In addition to the duties of a Trustee, the Chair will:
- Provide strategic leadership to the charity and the Board, ensuring that PRDA achieves its mission.
- Work in partnership with the Operations Manager and team to achieve our mission.
- Lead the board in ensuring that it fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of the organisation.
- Optimise the relationship between the board and PRDA’s staff and volunteers.
- Plan and chair the board meetings and the AGM, with others as appropriate.
- Act as a spokesperson and figurehead for PRDA.
What PRDA is looking for
Each trustee must have:
- a commitment to the vision and aims of the Pelvic Radiation Disease Association
- willingness to meet the minimum time requirement
- integrity
- strategic vision
- good, independent judgement
- an ability to think creatively
- a willingness to speak their mind
- an understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
- an ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to take decisions for the good of PRDA.
Ideally, trustees should also have one or more of the following:
- Understanding of the impact of Pelvic Radiation Disease on people’s lives either through personal or professional connections, or be willing to learn about this;
- Prior experience of committee/trustee work;
- Knowledge of the type of work undertaken by PRDA (helpline, support groups, online support, health professional engagement, awareness-raising) and/or fundraising for a small charity, and
- Leadership skills.

The Ryan Neuro Therapy Centre supports people with neurological conditions by delivering physiotherapy and other therapies to benefit their health and welfare in a caring, friendly, and supportive environment. We are a small self-funded charity in Coulsdon, reliant entirely on fundraising and donations to provide the income needed each year to run the Centre. The organisation took on charitable status in 1995 supporting people living with Multiple Sclerosis. In 2023, we expanded our provision to support other neurological conditions. The Charity has 18 members of staff (all part-time), 15 volunteers and over 100 members with neurological conditions.
The Ryan Neuro Therapy Centre supports people with neurological conditions by delivering physiotherapy and other therapies.
At Community TechAid our mission is to end digital poverty by providing sustainable access to the technology, skills and opportunities needed to get online.
We are at an exciting stage in our growth and are looking for passionate, motivated individuals to join our Trustee Board and help increase our impact and ensure digital inclusion for all.
You will be able to dedicate a minimum of 3 hours a month to Community TechAid work, and be available for in person quarterly meetings in London. Ideally you will have experience in HR or business development and have a connection to our south London community.

The role requires attendance at 4 Board meetings per year and the occasional ad hoc representation at events/meetings.

City of Chelmsford Mencap is a small independent charity providing support and structured classes for adults with a learning disability across mid-Essex. We have recently converted the charity's structure and are now embarking on an exciting period of strategic growth. We are seeking energetic and passionate new trustees who can contribute to our plans and help us deliver the next phase of our operating model.
We would welcome potential trustees from any professional background. However, the following attributes are very important:
- A proven track record of integrity and respect for confidential and proprietary information
- A keen and respectful listener who is able to empathise and respectfully challenge
- Commitment to the charity and enthusiasm for its vision, mission and aims
- Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
- Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to their duties as a trustee.
- Strategic vision
- Sound, independent judgement
- Willingness to participate in frank and open discussion
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to coach staff where required
- The ability to read and understand management reports
- Skills to analyse proposals and their consequence
- Preparedness to make unpopular recommendations to the board
- General competence with IT
- Willingness to be available to provide guidance to the senior management team on an ad hoc basis
- Capacity to represent the charity to external parties and at local events
