Job description

Dorset Museum & Art Gallery (DMAG) is currently looking to recruit a new Trustees to join the Board after election at the AGM at the end of this year. We are looking specifically for Trustees with backgrounds in:

  • Environmental conservation
  • Building conservation
  • Fundraising

Located in Dorchester, we run a leading Museum & Art Gallery for the Southwest of England – a true cultural beacon.

DMAG is owned and managed by the Dorset Natural History and Archaeological Society (DNHAS) and was established to collect, preserve, research and exhibit objects relating to the history, natural history and culture of Dorset.

The Board of Trustees has strategic responsibility for the running of the DNHAS and DMAG. The Board deals with all major strategic decisions and governance oversight, and is responsible for the approval of the annual budget and accounts and business plan, ensuring the solvency of the DNHAS and the safety of its assets. The Board works to ensure good governance and management to achieve financial stability, resilience and statutory compliance.
