Volunteer Cinema Host

Are you passionate about film and love engaging with audiences? Empire Cinema at Chorley Theatre is looking for friendly, cinema-loving volunteers to join our team as Cinema Hosts. This role is perfect for anyone who enjoys sharing their enthusiasm for film with others and wants to help create a welcoming environment at our venue.

As a Cinema Host, you’ll play a key role in greeting patrons, answering questions, and ensuring that all visitors have a comfortable and enjoyable experience. For volunteers who show dedication and a love for cinema, there’s an exciting opportunity to get more involved! Over time, you could help shape our film lineup and even assist in curating movie selections. We'll provide training and guidance along the way to help you learn the ins and outs of film programming and, ideally, the technical side of film presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Warmly welcome patrons as they arrive at Empire Cinema, providing a positive first impression of the venue.
• Answer questions about film schedules, ticketing, and facilities.
• Assist with crowd management and direct patrons to their seats if needed.
• Help maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the cinema lobby and auditorium.
• Be a point of contact for any customer inquiries or feedback.
• Engage with audiences before and after screenings, sharing information about upcoming events and listening to audience feedback.
• Collaborate with staff to enhance the cinema-going experience for all visitors.

Ideal Candidate:

• Passionate about the arts and cinema.
• Local to Chorley
• Friendly, approachable, and enjoys interacting with the public.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Interested in learning more about film programming and curation (experience not required but a plus).
• Enthusiastic about becoming part of the Chorley Theatre community and supporting a community-based venue.
