Honorary Assistant Psychologist
This is an exciting opportunity for an Honorary Assistant Psychologist to join the Brandon Centre! The postholder will be involved in a wide range of activities at our centre. They will be mainly based in our Counselling and Psychotherapy Service for Young People, although some of the work they will do will be centre-wide.
About Us
Brandon Centre delivers specialist adolescent mental health & wellbeing support for young people 16-25 years old in Camden and Islington. We support young people with a variety of challenges including, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and self-harm, transitions in life, relationship and friendship problems, difficulties at school and work, and bullying. We offer both short- and long-term counselling and psychotherapy.
The work of the Centre covers:
1) Direct clinical work:
- Individual psychotherapy using a range of evidence-based psychological therapies
- Systemic Integrative Therapy (SIT)
- Parent management training
- Outreach work with young people and families
2) Consultation, supervision and training
3) Research and evaluation
Main Duties of the Post
The main function of this post is to work with colleagues in our Psychotherapy Service supporting with routine outcome measurement, administration, monitoring, and scoring, supporting with our service monitoring reports, service user involvement, as well as some general administrative tasks within the team. This is an entry-level role which aims to give the postholder the opportunity to develop administrative and clinical skills relevant for pursuing a career in psychology.
The postholder will be supervised by the team’s Assistant Psychologist, with the opportunity for additional supervision from an HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist.
