Social Media Trustee - Ashford Place
Ashford Place is a charity based in the UK that provides support and services to vulnerable individuals in the London NW 2 area. We offer a blend of 1:1 and group support in a community centre setting. Our services include emotional, creative, physical and social information, advice and guidance. Our mission is to empower individuals to achieve independence and improve their quality of life.
Our staff work hard to support our vulnerable people. We don't always have the time to promote our good work. We want to be clearer about our messaging and need help to do that as well as use social media to spread the word.
What will you be doing?
Please consider joining our Board of Trustees and help us deliver high quality life-changing support to vulnerable people in NW London. We find that externally people might have different perceptions of our work as a charity e.g. that we don't need any help or funding. We want someone to help us to communicate effectively and concisely what we do and to make sure that a diverse audience understands us and wants to support us. The more support we get the more we can help people create healthy lives for themselves.
Time commitment: Our Board of Trustees meeting four times a year, two hour meeting and are on Zoom. It would be helpful to us to work with someone who can give us around 20 hours per month outside of meetings to help us develop our social media messaging.
What are we looking for?
- Demonstrated passion for and understanding of the charity’s mission and values.
- Experience in social media management and marketing, preferably within the non-profit sector.

- Proficiency in social media platforms, analytics tools, and content management systems.
- Creative mindset and the ability to develop engaging and inclusive content.
- The time to help us with this.
What difference will you make?
Your contribution will:
- Raise the charity’s profile
- Increase engagement with key audiences
- Help us to achieve our aims
- Help us to communicate effectively
- The wider community including funders and commissioners will consider us more positively
- Allow our staff to carry on their great work knowing that the wider community clearly understands what we do
