The role
We have the opportunity to appoint two trustees to join our trustee Board, bringing a blend of experience and expertise to help ensure the charity continues to have maximum impact as well as overseeing the fantastic work being undertaken by our dedicated staff, volunteers and supporters, which is to save and improve the lives of those diagnosed and affected by breast cancer.

Bristol Hospitality Network works to end the destitution of asylum seekers and refugees in the UK. We are looking for Trustees who are passionate about social justice.
What will you be doing?
We want individuals who are passionate about social justice and believe in the right of displaced and persecuted peoples to seek asylum in the UK. Your sense of fairness and empathy is much more important than any professional background you have. In fact, if you are keen to learn and support our staff team in a particular area of our work, we are happy to support you in developing new skills and an understanding of the asylum system in the UK.
If you are new to being a Trustee, we will give you plenty of support and training and there are plenty of resources we can point you to too.
Our Trustees meet all together 4 times a year (either virtually or in person) for Trustees’ meetings, plus we have an annual general meeting every year.
Our Trustees also take part in sub-groups such as the Finance sub-group, and some take on a governance responsibility like Chair, Treasurer or Secretary, or support an area of work such as hosting or advice or communications etc.

We estimate there are 100 destitute asylum seekers living in Bristol, caught in the loopholes of the system – unable to work and unable to claim benefits. Without an income, these individuals can’t find accommodation. This is an opportunity for the Trustee to join an organisation which extends solidarity to people seeking asylum and experiencing destitution through accommodation and creative community involvement. LEVEL OF COMMITMENT
All trustees are required to attend quarterly evening and one full day Board meetings. Board meetings usually take place at the Baca main office, Loughborough, Leicestershire. As appropriate, meetings could also take place virtually.
In addition to reading papers and preparing for meetings/conference calls, Trustees may be called upon for specific advice if they have particular expertise in a given area.
According to their individual skills and experience, Trustees may also be invited to serve on Baca’s Finance or Staff & Young People Wellbeing Committees or on ad-hoc Working Groups. Committees meet quarterly, usually in advance of Board meetings.

Street Support Network connects local people and organisations in order to support those experiencing, and at risk of experiencing homelessness.

Who are we looking for?
We'd love to work with collaborators, preferably with experience of charity governance, working with or as part of the board of a not-for-profit organisation, or with public sector experience. We’d also be very keen to hear from people with lived experience of homelessness.

Trustee Terms

Our work is grounded in research, lived experience, and 15 years of delivering supported holidays around the UK for people with dementia and their family carers. In that time, we have also become a reputable training provider for healthcare and outdoor leisure professionals, specialising in developing dementia skills, nature-based activities, and multi-sensory approaches to care and inclusion.
In a year that has seen some exciting new partnerships develop, the launch of Green Letter Days, and our engaging ‘Today I will …’ social media campaign, this is an excellent time to join Dementia Adventure’s Board as we develop the next period of growth and strategic development. Chaired by Debbie Marshall, Managing Director of the Silver Marketing Association, our trustees bring knowledge and experience in travel, sustainability, healthcare management, law and finance from their respective sectors. We are looking for three more trustees to join them who would also be keen advocates for the cause and are well-networked in their fields.
The role will involve attending up to six meetings a year, all digitally accessible, but with the aim of meeting in person on two of those occasions in London and at our offices near Chelmsford. In addition to providing strategic oversight, support, and challenge to the organisation, which comprises 24 staff and over 120 volunteers, there will be opportunities to engage in various ways, with an average time commitment of three hours per month.

We are looking to recruit 2 new trustees, to join our Board, with a commitment to CCS and its mission, and a willingness to put time and energy into the trustee role.
We are looking for someone who has either professional or personal experience of finding permanent homes for vulnerable children who are unable to remain with their birth parents.
We are particularly interested to hear from you if are you are an adult adoptee who would be willing to bring your lived experience to this role. Or you may be an adopter who wants to bring their skills and experience. We are also particularly looking for individuals with expertise in the fields of Fundraising/Marketing /Health and Social Care.
Ideally, but not essential, it would be helpful to have experience of working in the voluntary sector. Whether you are an experienced Trustee or wanting to take the first step at Board level, if you share our ethos, we'd like to hear from you.
CCS Adoption is a Voluntary Adoption Agency. We find permanent, loving homes for children who have a plan for adoption, including those who tend to wait longest. We also provide a range of therapeutic packages to adopted children and their families; and a wide range of innovative support services for adoptive families, offering groups, activities, workshops and training for Adoptive families from The Centre. Rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for the 5th time in a row in February 2024, we are continuously developing and improving our services for adoptive families.

Commitment Required
· Preparation and Attendance at Board meetings (Quarterly, usually on a Tuesday evening)
· To make available skills and experience to CCS
· Participation in subcommittees as delegated by the Board (Quarterly)
· Availability by phone or email to the Chair or CEO from time to time
· To respect confidentiality
· To act solely in the interests of the charity
· To gain a better understanding of the charity by attending at least one event per year, for example, the Agency Day (half a day during office hours) or an Information Event (usually virtual, in the evening)
