We are looking for an assistant to help our film director as we enter post production at the end of a 3 year (fun) film project about the personal lives of Cancer Research Scientists. This film will pay tribute to the incredible work these amazing (often very young) scientists do, and until now: their dedication has often been overlooked.  This is a first-of-its-kind movie, shot in wide-screen cinema scope and is intended for release on ALL platforms, Sky, Netflix, Amazon, Apple.  We have refused production funds from the big platforms (funding the entire film project ourselves) in order to keep control of WHERE the movie can be distributed and to allow all film revenue profits to go to cancer research UK.This will stop greedy networks from blocking each other in distributing the film. We want every country around the world to be able to broadcast the movie because half of the world's 8 billion people will suffer cancer at some point in their lives, and we want cancer sufferers worldwide to see this heartwarming film showing amazing scientists working tirelessly to find new cures. About the Role

Your mission will be leading efforts in safeguarding Onja’s legal interests as it continues to grow.

Responsibilities:

• providing accurate, relevant and timely advice to management and staff on a needs basis in respect of a broad range of issues, with a particular focus on employment law and dispute resolution;

Here at Youth4Youth, we have grown a strong, tight-knit community of individuals who are passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of young people across the UK. About the role

As Youth4Youth continues to grow, we are focusing on strengthening the long-term financial sustainability of the Charity. We are seeking 3 - 4 experienced individuals to join the Board of Directors of a new Commercial Trading Subsidiary (Y4Y Trading Ltd, yet to be incorporated). This is an exciting opportunity for individuals to have a material impact on the success of the wider charity by promoting and ensuring commercial excellence throughout all commercial activities.

• Attend 4 to 6 Board Meetings per year, each up to 1.5 hours in length and will be held remotely via teams. 
• Hold ultimate authority, in line with all management agreements between Y4Y Trading Ltd and Youth4Youth Ltd, to ensure the success of all commercial activities.
• Hold legal responsibility for the subsidiary entity, ensuring that all statutory requirements are met ahead of deadlines. 
• Constructively challenge opinions and biases to ensure the right decisions are made, with the ultimate aim of delivering maximum return to the charitable group.
• Providing scrutiny of executive and business performance in meeting agreed strategy, plan, goals and objectives, as well as monitoring reporting of performance.

When would you be needed and where would you be based?

This role involves being out and about at public events and would suit someone looking to give the occasional day, half day or evening to support SSAFA; when and where would be flexible to suit you.

What would you be doing?

• Be part of a team with collection/buckets tins at events, supermarkets, shopping centres, etc.
• Acting as a marshal at a public event e.g., handing out water to runners, supervising parking etc.
• Being part of a team running a stall at an event, Armed Forces Day, fayre, county show etc.
• Helping with putting up posters, building gazebos, serving refreshments, packing/unpacking cars etc.
• Being a positive ambassador for SSAFA, engaging people of all backgrounds and interests
• Volunteering within the standards and values of SSAFA including observing our policies such as the Volunteering policy and data protection policy (these will be covered in your training and local induction.)

The remit of this role may change over the next 12-18 months depending on the outcome of a trial currently being undertaken.

• Local Fundraising Coordinator
• Fundraising Manager (per region)
• Access to the Fundraising and Marketing teams based at our central office.
• Reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses
• Volunteers will be covered by SSAFAs Public Liability Insurance whilst carrying out the role.

Could you help to raise vital funds for SSAFA in your local area? You don’t need a military background, just the ability to get on with all kinds of people and some occasional free time.

What is a Branch Fundraiser?

As part of a local team, our fundraisers represent SSAFA at events, and in public. The role includes helping at fayres, street collections, concerts, quizzes, raffles, sporting events etc.

Why do we need you?

We’ve been supporting the Armed Forces community since 1885. Our clients come from all backgrounds and age groups and may have served in WW2 or in a more recent conflict like the Falklands or Afghanistan.

There are SSAFA branches throughout the UK and overseas who support local volunteers to deliver services to veterans, serving personnel and their families. Some branches are divided into smaller divisions to ensure the best local service delivery. Each branch has a team of volunteer caseworkers, support volunteers, executive roles, and fundraisers.

SSAFA branches rely on regular charitable income to fund all the necessities behind our support for clients. This includes volunteer travel expenses, phone bills, publicity, and grants for clients in urgent need. A varied programme of fundraising also keeps the SSAFA profile high in the local community, so everyone knows who we are and how we can help.
