Role Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an important departments in our organisation, working with the team on fundraising efforts while gaining valuable experience within Emerge Worldwide. We are looking for an individual with the passion and drive for fundraising, to help the organisation reach our fundraising goals and enable us to achieve the crucial work we do in raising awareness and prevention against sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.

We make an impactful difference in the lives of children, young people, women and professionals as well as organisations and businesses. There has been a 10% increase in sexual exploitation and sex trafficking against children (NSPCC 2022), and 99% of victims in the commercial sex industry are female (Unseen).  We desire to provide free training so as many women and girls are trained, enabling increased protection against this horrific crime. 

As a volunteer fundraiser, you’ll be instrumental in the organisation securing the essential funds that allow Emerge Worldwide to reach more people, including supporting and empowering victims and survivors. Your efforts will directly contribute to us offering services to the most vulnerable people. 

What are we looking for?

We’re seeking volunteers with experience in fundraising, fundraising research to help drive our fundraising efforts and expand our support network, including sponsorship. Any experience in bid writing is desirable. We are also seeking volunteers who have event planning and project planning experience. 

This role will include:

● Researching funding and sponsorship opportunities.

● Exploring additional fundraising opportunities and strategies.

● Developing a simple donor journey and stewardship plan to engage supporters, providing ways to deepen their connection with our charity.

● Assisting in the planning and organisation of fundraising activities and events.

● Reaching out to businesses and companies for potential partnerships and donation opportunities.

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising events organisers have the exciting and varied role of helping plan and deliver local fundraising events to raise the vital funds needed to help our feline friends. Our fundraising events organisers use their passion for cats and people to plan cake sales, barn dances, quiz nights and everything in between.

What can you expect to be doing?

• Planning fundraising events and activities like cake sales, quiz nights and barn dances in Mid-Sussex RH15, RH16, RH17, BN6, BN45.
• Providing the treasurer with information on funds raised from fundraising events
• Encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 
• Following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

A bit more information about this role and the team

• This is a flexible role. The amount of time you offer can work to your availability and convenience.
• There may be opportunities for your activities to be fully remote and/or admin based if you'd prefer.
• You will need your own transport if you wish to attend events, ideally a car or van since items, stock and equipment will usually be needed.
• We ask that you complete training to support you in your role. This can be completed online if you have access to the internet and the necessary device (computer/laptop/tablet etc). Support can be offered or paper versions of much of the training if needed.

This job will be great  for a pro-active social media “story teller”, looking to build their own profile by ‘owning’ this new area of Evolve’s work. Blood Cancer UK Community Collection Volunteers play a vital role in strengthening our reach and engagement in local communities - raising awareness of our research, health information, and support.

You will develop new skills, expand your knowledge, and make a significant contribution to improving the lives of people with blood cancer by helping raise vital funds through fundraising activities. The more collections we host, the more people affected by blood cancer we can reach and the more funds we can raise. You'll be part of a large team of dedicated and passionate Community Collection Volunteers to help us achieve this goal.

• Submitting applications to host and deliver bucket collections at local venues.

The funds you raise as a Community Collection Volunteer will help to beat blood cancer by investing in research that:

• develops cures for those who have blood cancer, now or in the future,
• continually improves the treatment and care for those living with blood cancer today and,
• aims to stop blood cancer before it starts.

Hosting a collection at your local supermarket or sports club enables us to reach lots of people and collect lots of donations. Every penny raised will make a BIG impact.

• £150 could fund a researcher to analyse 120 blood cell samples – any one of them could hold the key to a new discovery.
• £210 is enough for us to send expert patient information to everyone diagnosed with blood cancer today.
• £500 could fund a research nurse for three days – ensuring patients have a hand to hold while they are testing new treatments.

This is an all-year round role, with flexible opportunities to fundraise and raise awareness to suit your availability.  You can expect to spend a few hours, at a time convenient to you, applying to venues and encouraging others to join you. We hope that you host 3 – 4 collections per year. Each collection will take approximately 2 – 4 hours.

Sembeza Africa provides Quality Physical Education (QPE) programs that empower youth and communities in Uganda, integrating sports with education, gender equality, and environmental sustainability.

Uganda’s youth face significant barriers, including limited access to quality education, early pregnancies, and a lack of inclusive opportunities for physical and personal development. With over 75% of the population under the age of 30, Uganda needs initiatives that address these challenges holistically. Physical education in many schools remains underdeveloped, leaving children without the critical skills for leadership, teamwork, and resilience. Sembeza Africa is looking for a dedicated Administration and Finance Specialist to help manage essential tasks that support our mission to empower Uganda’s youth through Quality Physical Education, gender equality, and sustainability. In this role, you will oversee budgets, ensure financial accountability, and contribute to the smooth execution of events. Additionally, you’ll work closely with our small, passionate team to develop innovative strategies, create impactful campaigns, and build strong partnerships. Your expertise in administration and finance will play a vital role in shaping a brighter future for Uganda’s youth

Bid - Writer Support (Administrator) Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for Bid - Writer Support to join our passionate and driven team.

As Bid Administrator you will support the performance of a high performing bid team designed to facilitate and support the successful winning of new grants and tenders across the UK.

As an outstanding administrator you will play a key role in assisting the team to ensure that all bid documents and business development literature is prepared and presented not only to the highest possible standards but on time – often within challenging deadlines. Key to success in the role will be the following traits:

You will be at your best when you’re working under pressure and in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. This role calls for someone who can react as deadlines and priorities change; someone with resilience and a tenacity to get the job done whilst never compromising on quality.

Key Responsibilities:

· Management of a central mailbox, including basic tender management duties

· Monitoring new business opportunities advertised on various portals and websites.

· Reviewing new business opportunities as they arrive, forwarding relevant opportunities to the appropriate bid writers.

· Taking ownership of the bid library, which includes ensuring that it kept up to date as and when new opportunities are submitted.

· Thoroughly proof-reading materials to ensure information is grammatically correct, well-researched, and without spelling errors

· Ensuring that our in-house bid process is understood and implemented to ensure that quality, commercial and legal requirements are consistently met

· Taking ownership of client portals – Including dealing with daily alerts and maintenance of portal logins

· Providing general administrative support to the bid writing team.

The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK runs over a period of 16 weeks, is UNPAID and requires a minimum of 12 hours commitment per week across Monday and Friday.

Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. Once your onboarding and identification documents are received and verified, you'll be invited to a 6-hour HR and System Induction. Subsequently, you'll meet with your Head of Department or Assistant Manager for your First Day.

Hours: We aim to be transparent about the time commitment required for this role. While we strive to balance the needs of the organization with respect for your time, we anticipate an average of 6 full days per year, in addition to a minimum of 4-6 hours per month. This includes attending key meetings, participating in essential activities, and contributing to ongoing projects. We expect in-person attendance at quarterly Board meetings whenever feasible.

Pay: Unpaid Volunteer role (reasonable expenses will be reimbursed for Board related work)

Duration: 3 years with possible extension.

UK-Med invites applications to join our Board of Trustees from well-connected individuals with a track record of securing significant gifts for charities from individuals or corporations.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in networking and fostering partnerships with corporate and individual donors, trusts, fundraisers and other stakeholders. They will play a pivotal role in supporting our small but growing fundraising team to develop and deliver the UK-Med fundraising strategy and supporting fundraising efforts through networking, soliciting gifts and championing the work of the charity at events and meetings.

You will be passionate about what we do and committed to using your experience and expertise to contribute to the strategic development and good governance of the charity.
