We are looking for a Community Fundraiser who has these key skills to help us raise vital income for our charity.  You will develop and deliver fundraising initiatives through partnerships with local groups, schools, associations and individuals.  This role will also involve delivering a number of fundraising events so being organised and creative is key and having a marketing focus to ensure maximum success.  No two days are the same and we are looking for someone who can be flexible in their approach and able to multitask effectively. 

You will be based at our purpose built children’s hospice just outside Maidenhead, which provides support to children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families. Since 2004, Village Water has been dedicated to transforming lives in Africa by providing vital support in hygiene promotion, sanitation facilities, and safe water (WASH) in rural communities of Zambia and Mozambique.

Key information:  

Location: Remote working. (UK only) Must be able to attend a minimum of 5 mandatory meetings per year (includes overnight stay for 2-day meetings) at our office in Shrewsbury and occasional meetings elsewhere.

Salary: Between £30,000 – £35,000 a year depending on experience.

Job Purpose  

To maximise income for Village Water’s work from corporates (UK and International) & to develop and manage your own portfolio of existing corporates and research and prioritise new opportunities ensuring high quality stewardship to secure ongoing support. This role will focus on networking, delivering compelling pitches to corporates, organise and support corporate fundraising events, preparing high-quality funding applications and reports, providing exceptional account management, and fostering cross-team collaboration. 

Responsibilities  

Corporate Fundraising 

• Develop, implement, and sustain a dynamic corporate fundraising portfolio, maintaining a well-organised pipeline of funding opportunities. 

• Attend and contribute to networking events, while actively organising events to foster relationships with new and existing corporate donors. 

• Identify and pursue corporate funding opportunities by aligning proposals with companies' ESG policies, emphasising shared values and potential partnerships. 

• Establish and nurture relationships with Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) to unlock new support avenues. 

• Work closely with colleagues to develop compelling proposals and reports that effectively communicate the organisation's impact and funding needs. 

• Coordinate with monitoring and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors, adhering to grant conditions and budget requirements. 

• Maintain precise and well-managed donor information in the organisation’s database to facilitate efficient tracking and follow-up. 

• Organise pop-up events for and with corporate partners to enhance engagement and visibility. 

• Support fundraising team with social media content ideas that highlight our activities and showcases the impact. 

General   

• Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, external suppliers, and local partners to advance organisational goals. 

• Participate in and report during weekly team meetings and, when necessary, at Trustee meetings. 

• Provide assistance for other fundraising initiatives as needed, promoting a collaborative work environment and supporting the overall fundraising efforts of the organisation. 

• Ensure compliance with the organisation's safeguarding policies by completing all required training. 

Skills and experience: 

• Demonstrated ability to secure funds from new corporate partners, with experience in winning awards exceeding £10,000. 

• Confident and skilled in delivering presentations to a diverse range of supporters, whether in groups, individually, in person, or remotely. 

• Proven experience in crafting persuasive cases for support and donor updates that motivate giving. 

• Expertise in building and maintaining strong donor relationships to ensure sustained support. 

• Strong writing skills for creating compelling cases for support and effectively presenting the organisation’s work to potential donors. 

• Ability to develop, analyse, and interpret budgets and financial information. 

• Proficient in using databases for fundraising performance analysis.

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven individual to join our Fundraising Team as the Community and Events Fundraiser. You will lead, plan, cost and deliver an exciting and varied community fundraising programme to grow income and a strong return on investment. Main Responsibilities

Hospital engagement and Community Relationships

• To create and increase awareness of fundraising for Southampton Hospitals Charity across all University Hospital Southampton sites working closely with the Marketing and Communications team
• To foster effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders including consultants, doctors, nurses, care group managers etc
• To ensure visibility of fundraising materials including poster sites and leaflet holders in the hospitals, community etc and ensure they are kept up to date and relevant
• To create a Fundraising Hub out of Unit 2 by driving supporters and stakeholders to the office to build a real sense of community spirit and a hive of fundraising activity
• To be proactive in seeking out new fundraising opportunities, relationships, and networks.
• To develop, support the delivery of and evaluate a strategic supporter journey and stewardship journey across the community fundraising programme focused on generating net return and supporter retention. 
• To lead on researching and developing trust and charity networks to acquire new supporters in the communities served by the Trust based on audience insight and analysis
• To build and maintain relationships with supporters through face to face, telephone, email, and written correspondence with the aim of securing financial and “in kind” support.
• To have an insight led approach to our activities, regularly analysing data and gathering supporter feedback.
• To Develop a comprehensive pipeline of fundraising opportunities such as adopted charity of the year for regional shows and events, mayors and golf captains.
• To be the first point of contact for groups and individuals organising community activities to raise money for SHC, motivating and encouraging them to raise as much money as possible
• To proactively research and identify influential individuals in schools and community groups to build and develop relationships and gather support for key campaigns
• To appropriately support all community fundraising activities- Thank and report on how money is spent and provide high levels of supporter relationship management which will result in long term support.
• To liaise and manage relationships with external suppliers such as 3rd party event organisers, event companies and venues.

Other

• To be responsible for the input and maintenance of the fundraising database and ensure records are kept up to date in a timely, accurate and consistent manner
• Be aware of income and expenditure budgets working to ensure all activity achieves a return on investment of 3:1
• To be aware of the changing external environment to pick up on opportunities and keep abreast of current trends, circumstances or topical issues that will enhance the event or the charity.

Person Specification:

Knowledge and experience

• Experience of increasing income through successful community, events, corporate or volunteer fundraising programmes or equivalent transferable experience from another sector
• Experience of successful project management including planning and delivering projects within budgets and on time to meet departmental, team and personal objectives and KPIs
• A proven track record of delivering an excellent customer/supporter stewardship experience
• Experience of managing multiple projects and budgets
• Demonstrable experience in using data insight and analysis to inform decision making
• Excellent IT skills including using Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point as well as experience of administering and maintaining dedicated supporter CMS databases
• Knowledge of a Fundraising Database and knowledge of fundraising regulations e.g. GDPR

Community Fundraiser North-East

Brain Tumour Research is looking for a Community Fundraiser to provide support, and to help our donors and supporters fundraise, building connections to ensure a lifetime relationship between the charity and individual.

Position: Community Fundraiser – North-East (Maternity Cover)

About the Role

Working from home, you'll support local businesses, individuals, and groups, empowering them to raise funds for a cause that truly matters.

In this role, you will develop, manage, and deliver fundraising activities within your region. From organising community and local business events to supporting volunteers, you will be responsible for creating meaningful and lasting relationships with fundraisers. Your role will be to ensure that all supporters feel valued and appreciated, while helping to maximise the income generated for the charity.

A key part of your work will involve delivering fantastic supporter care. What are we looking for?

Experience in community fundraising or relationship management. You will need to be passionate about inspiring and supporting others to achieve their fundraising goals. You will have the ability to motivate and coach people, helping them feel confident and valued throughout their journey.

Strong communication skills are essential, both written and verbal, as you'll be engaging with a wide range of supporters. We're looking for someone who is empathetic, able to understand and relate to different motivations, and who can build personalised relationships.

You should be familiar with CRM systems and GDPR guidelines, with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all interactions. Flexibility and resilience are key, as you'll need to adapt to changing situations while staying motivated. A full clean driving licence and the ability to work some evenings and weekends are also required.

Fundraising plays a crucial role in sustaining and advancing our care services and research collaborations within the Association. You will play a key role in supporting fundraisers, helping them to reach their goals while building lasting connections with our charity. Ensuring income to the Association and lifetime value is maximised. Meeting agreed income and expenditure budgets to deliver high standards of supporter care and maximising the return on investment of fundraising activities will be an essential part of your role.

Providing essential guidance and support to fundraisers within your area, your focus will be on ensuring supporters feel valued and engaged, helping them to maximise their fundraising potential. You will achieve this through effective communication across various channels, including phone, email, and face-to-face interactions. By building strong relationships, you'll also help to increase their fundraising impact, introducing them to other opportunities within the charity and offering tailored advice.

Collaboration is key in this position. You will work closely with internal teams to create the best possible fundraising experience. By signposting to local volunteering branches and groups, you will help increase the overall value of community fundraising efforts.

You'll work closely with our wider team to maintain accurate records in the CRM system, ensuring consistency and high standards of supporter care. Keeping funds on track and received within the right timescales will also be a key part of your role. Why we need you

We are seeking a Fundraising Coordinator with a passion for the Future Frontiers mission (you do not need to have previous experience of fundraising) who will play a vital supporting role to secure income that is needed to deliver the Future Frontiers programme for a growing number of young people.

The successful candidate will report to the Senior Fundraising Manager and work closely with the Fundraising and Partnerships teams. Your primary focus will be on charitable Trusts and Foundations: researching suitable funding opportunities and writing external-facing communications. You will arrange programme visits to meet with young people and develop high-quality case studies. In addition, you will play a role in Future Frontiers' wider income generation work through researching potential business supporters and working with people participating in fundraising activities including employee fundraising and challenge events. You will keep excellent records of all fundraising activity to ensure effective team collaboration. 

Your responsibilities

Research and pipeline development 

You will complete research to find charitable trusts, foundations and businesses that have the potential to support Future Frontiers for the first time and keep detailed notes for the fundraising and partnerships teams. You will use this knowledge to support the pipeline of funding opportunities for the coming years, including making recommendations for the amount of funding we ask for and what it could go towards.

Enquiries and applications 

You will write enquiries and applications for funding that are tailored to each recipient and make a convincing case for how their support will make a difference. 

Reports and case studies

You will write reports that are tailored to each recipient and demonstrate how their funding has made a difference. This will involve arranging programme visits to speak with young people and develop case studies. 

Supporter engagement 

You will support the planning and delivery of high-quality, tailored communications and engagement opportunities for existing and potential supporters. This will include supporting individual volunteer fundraisers and employees of business partners. 

Record-keeping

You will ensure that key information about our fundraising activity is stored appropriately and with high attention to detail.
