It is our mission that any woman who needs our service should be able to find her way to a Smart Works centre.

In April 2022, Smart Works launched a Three-Year Plan that will see the charity double the number of women helped annually from 5,000 to 10,000 women a year. We are on track to achieve this by expanding the reach of our existing centres and opening new centres in areas of need including Bristol; set to open in early 2025.

About the role

Smart Works Leeds have received a grant from The National Lottery to recruit a key role within the Service Delivery team, a Client Services Coordinator. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for talking clients through the service; scheduling appointments; answering queries; and providing check-in calls as well as welcoming the clients at their appointment and following up with them after their interviews. 

Along with the communication with clients, the Client Services Coordinator will also liaise with our volunteer team, providing them with the necessary information about each client to ensure that their appointment is tailored to their needs, and they feel comfortable at each stage of their journey with Smart Works.

The role will suit anyone who is organised, practical, and has an interest in working in the charity sector.

St Peter’s Charity is a small Charity founded in 1861. Once an order of Anglican religious sisters running hospitals, today the Charity runs St Columba’s House Christian retreat and conference centre and a small grant making trust. We are based in Woking, Surrey.

A part time Finance Manager is needed to cover all the finance and accounting functions within the Charity from payroll to producing monthly management accounts and presenting reports at Trustee meetings. This role is varied and rewarding as it plays an important part in the management of our Charity.

For this varied and busy role of Events Manager we are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organised individual with excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills. You will be used to working across a number of projects and be able to prioritise your workload and manage your time effectively in this part time role. The Compassionate Friends (TCF) is a national bereavement charity founded 55 years ago, providing peer support and information to bereaved parents and families, whose child has died from any age (from one month old to an adult son or daughter) and from any cause. We are passionate about offering a range of supportive events for bereaved parents and adult siblings and online groups for parents in specific circumstances and adult siblings. The Charity

The Youth Adventure Trust is a youth development charity working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 years old from Somerset, Wiltshire and Swindon. Our outdoor activity based YAT Adventure Programme enables young people to challenge themselves, experience success, learn to go beyond their own expectations and grow in confidence. Through a series of residential camps and day activities they are able to build resilience, self esteem and develop social and life skills. The YAT Resilience Programme works to the same outcomes through a year long programme of monthly activities, home-based challenges and reflective practice. Our Mentoring Programme works with those young people in need of some additional individualised support at the end of our other programmes. The Trust’s Bursary Programme is open to all those young people who have completed an initial programme, in order to assist their next steps into further activities. Our aim is to make a lasting improvement to the lives of vulnerable young people. All our services are provided completely free of charge to the young people who are nominated by schools and other youth organisations to take part. 

The Role

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and inspiring individual to oversee and lead our new YAT Resilience Programme. Following a successful pilot in Wiltshire in 2023, we are now launching the programme in Somerset, a new geographical location for the Youth Adventure Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of YAT’s growth, leading our first move outside of Wiltshire and Swindon. There is plenty of scope to develop this new programme, ensuring it meets its objectives and gives the best possible opportunities to the vulnerable young people who are referred to build their resilience and therefore improve their future lives. 

The Resilience Programme Lead will be responsible for;

• developing the content of the Resilience Programme including identifying, arranging and booking activities and other opportunities; and developing complementary materials such as reflective journals, take home challenges, online support and session plans for individual support.

• delivering the Resilience Programme to groups of young people, ensuring the highest standards of safety, wellbeing and engagement, acting as the key point of contact for them and their parents/carers throughout, and ensuring they get the maximum benefit from the opportunity. 

• the continued review and development of the programme content, experience and learning opportunities to ensure maximum outcomes and that programme objectives are fulfilled. You will seek the views and feedback of young people, and include them as well as other stakeholders in its development. Having a high quality programme that meets its aims is of the utmost importance to YAT and this will require a reflective, insightful and creative leader. 

• monitoring the impact of the programme on the young people taking part through use of our outcomes measurement tool and seeking feedback from young people, parents, referral agencies and volunteers. Reporting on this impact through success stories, data and analysis.

• working with the referral schools and young people’s families to promote understanding of the benefits of the programme, effective participation and ensure they have all the information they require. Providing parents/carers and referral schools with feedback to help support the young person’s development and wellbeing. 

• line management for other Resilience Programme Managers, overseeing their workflow and delivery of the programme.

• working with the Volunteering Lead to recruit, train, support, organise and prepare volunteers who will work on the programme, including providing training and ensuring safe working practices and the highest standards of care and safeguarding. On activities you will oversee staff and providers who are brought in to support the delivery of the programme.

• overseeing the programme budget and ongoing expenditure review to ensure it is on track and achieves best value.

• overseeing and developing the programme’s website pages, database usage and administrative systems.

• scoping out and creating opportunities, contacts, networks and support in Somerset in order to raise YAT’s profile in the county.

• supporting the fundraising team through providing feedback, reports and supporting information to help acquire and maintain funding for the programme.

• attending parts of the YAT Adventure Programme, other events and volunteer training throughout the year in order to support the wider functions of the charity.

• acting as an ambassador for the Youth Adventure Trust at all times.

The Candidate

To be up to the challenge you’ll need an excellent understanding and a proven track record of relevant experience working with vulnerable and challenging young people. You’ll need demonstrable skills at building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders; young people, parents/carers, schools, volunteers, professional organisations and providers. You’ll need strong leadership and motivational skills; the capacity to get the best out of people and confidently deal with complex issues and challenges. You’ll be an excellent communicator, planner and problem solver, a strong team player and an exemplary role model. 

We need someone with;

• knowledge, understanding and commitment to the highest standards of safeguarding, and dedication to promoting the welfare and safety of young people. 

• relevant experience of managing, supporting and developing secondary age young people in a group setting, as well as through individual work. 

• experience and interest in outdoor and adventurous activities.

At FearFree we are proud to deliver services across the Southwest to those impacted by domestic abuse, and we're excited to be expanding our offer, with the introduction of a new Rediscovering Independence through Support and Empowerment (RISE) Service. 

As a Support Advisor working full time or part time, you will be a fundamental part of our team, supporting the delivery of the RISE programmes and the development of the service. The service will provide a range of trauma-informed and person-centred support, focused on supporting those impacted by abuse to access education, training, employment or volunteering.

You will be responsible for providing trauma informed support through group work and 1-1 support. Working part time or full time alongside a team of practitioners across our geographical patch in Gloucester, providing support to Bristol and North Wilts as required, the project aims to:

• Increase volunteers in FearFree and support people to access volunteering opportunities externally.
• Support individuals impacted by abuse to access training and employment.
• Help people access bespoke apprenticeships and internships.
• Support service users to increase and advance work related skills, such as the development of CVs, financial management and IT skills.
• Raise awareness of this agenda to a wider network.

The service will support victims of Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence and Stalking aged 15 and above, alongside perpetrators of Domestic Abuse – empowering victims and reducing the risk of recidivism for perpetrators.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in working with vulnerable people and an understanding / experience of theEmployment, Training and Education (ETE) sector. They will have an understanding of trauma informed practice and ideally have experience implementing this within group and 1-1 settings. At Unfold, we have been supporting young people and families across Westminster and its neighbouring boroughs for over 30 years. Our vision is to empower individuals to overcome barriers and achieve their goals through mentoring and peer support. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Programme Coordinator to join our small but committed team, playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality mentoring programmes and women's support groups.

The Role

You’ll support the Programme Manager in coordinating the logistics and delivery of our mentoring services, which include our flagship Mentoring for Mothers programme and its adaptation, Mentoring for Mothers Welcome, tailored to support asylum-seeking women and their children.

From the initial application stage to conducting assessments and making the all-important mentor-mentee matches, you’ll ensure that everyone feels supported and valued throughout their journey with us. You’ll also be a crucial point of contact for our volunteer mentors, providing training and supervision, answering queries, and ensuring they feel confident in their roles.

In addition, you’ll take an active role in the coordination of our Women Support Groups, which help to foster a sense of community and solidarity. About You

You'll have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable families and individuals, especially those from diverse and complex backgrounds The ideal candidate will have a background in community support or volunteer management, with strong communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. You should be confident working independently but also thrive as part of a small, close-knit team.

An understanding of the challenges faced by asylum seekers and refugees is crucial, as is a solid grasp of safeguarding principles and experience implementing them. St Barnabas House, Martlets and Chestnut Tree House are seeking a Community Engagement Assistant to join the Community Engagement team.  This newly created role will provide vital support to our Events Fundraisers and Community Fundraisers enabling them to go above and beyond for our incredible supporters who go out of their way to raise crucial funds for adult and children’s hospice care in Sussex and beyond.

RJ4All is looking for an innovative UK Operations Director who will drive impactful social justice projects and community initiatives while fostering strategic growth and income generation. You will oversee our dynamic UK-based operations out of the Rotherhithe Community Centre, work closely with the Director, and lead our Centre-based team. 

Restorative Justice for All (RJ4All) is a charitable, user-led international institute with expertise in preventing and addressing harm at the individual, community and inter-state levels. We are one of the world’s leading experts in transferring complex criminological and social justice concepts into practice through real-life pilots and community projects. 

The UK Operations Director will lead on the delivery, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of RJ4All’s UK-based services, and especially those run from the RJ4All Rotherhithe Community Centre. It is expected that they will generate income for the UK operations and contribute to new ideas for UK-based projects that fall within RJ4All’s agreed strategy. Finally, the post holder will act in place of the Director when they are unavailable or for any other agreed reason.

This post requires leadership and strong ethical commitment to RJ4All’s core values and vision, independence balanced against organisational priorities and focus. To this end, the postholder is expected to have excellent communication with the Director, and be able to participate in complex, high level discussions with the non-executive directors and other stakeholders about the future of RJ4All. Initiative, loyalty, and innovation are attributes that are highly valued at RJ4All. 

Key Tasks 

• Lead on the management of RJ4All’s UK Operations especially those run from the Rotherhithe Community Centre, ensuring its facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards. 

• To line manage the Community Project Coordinators and Officers, the Fitness team, administrators, finance support staff, interns and volunteers. 

• To lead on drafting applications for funding from government, trusts and foundations, donors and sponsors for UK programmes and services. 

• To lead on managing and delivering of all services running out of the Community Centre including the RJ4All Sports branch, Community Gym, YouthClubs+, Foodbank, and Community Library 

• To lead on creating and monitoring the UK Operations’ Theory of Change on annual basis, and review it against available data and individual projects’ Theory of Change. 

Qualifications 

Essential 

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or related

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a relevant field such as equalities or crime prevention 

• Experience in non-profit, CIC, or small business environment

• Experience in managing paid and volunteering personnel

• Demonstrated experience in fundraising 

• Experience in writing and monitoring budgets 

• Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to contribute to decision-making and planning 

• Willingness to learn and develop as a leader, inspire others and self, motivate and set own priorities 

Desirable 

• Master's Degree in Social Sciences or related 

• Certified trainings in restorative justice and other relevant areas 

• Knowledge of the HMRC and UK tax regulations and best practices 

The Mental Health Foundation is recruiting for a Project Assistant to support our Programmes Team in Glasgow on the Reclaiming Our Power project.

Location: Glasgow

Salary: Starting salary £26,125 rising to £29,260 pro rata to 0.5 full time equivalent.

Hours: Part time, 0.5 full time equivalent – currently 16 hours per week.

Contract type: This is a fixed term contract, ending on 30 September 2026.

This exciting Project Assistant role will work closely with the Programme Development Officer to support the development and delivery of Reclaiming Our Power. Reclaiming Our Power will explore the impact of racist microaggressions on mental health through creative peer support workshops with people with lived experience of racism, and will use learning to co-design and co-deliver learning opportunities to people working in the public and charity sectors delivering Glasgow’s services.

This project and role are funded with thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund Scotland.

What does the role involve?

• Organising events including creative peer support workshops, volunteer meetings, and training sessions
• Supporting the co-development and co-delivery of tailored training to people training/working in public-facing services
• Acting as a key point of contact for group participants and volunteers, building relationships with them and responding to queries and concerns
• Outreach work with people from Black and minority ethnic communities (including refugees and people seeking asylum) and organisations working with them across Glasgow

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?

• Demonstrable experience of organising and running community led initiatives
• Experience of supporting event management, both in person and online
• Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with individuals and organisations across a wide variety of backgrounds
• We are particularly interested in hearing from people with lived experience of the challenges faced by Black and minority ethnic Communities
