About the role
This is a very exciting time to join the Board. The sector is experiencing great change, driven by the many opportunities to work on major infrastructure projects as well as the expanding housebuilding programme. OA is currently developing a new strategy to take us into 2025-30 that will shape our role in the sector and the archaeological profession, and we are investing in our internal systems and processes to support these ambitions.
We are seeking two new trustees to join our board in late 2024/early 2025. Current trustees are mainly from the heritage sector, especially from professional practice and academia. We want to extend the range of trustee skills to reflect the developments in the sector and the wider economy. While an interest in the heritage sector is important we will consider a wide range of professional backgrounds and life experience in order to bring new perspectives, energy and creativity to our board.
We are particularly looking for people who have experience in any of the following areas:
- Management of major infrastructure projects.
- Contract/commercial management in the following sectors: Construction, House Building, Utilities, Renewable Energy.
- Financial management and planning, including oversight of annual audited accounts and organisational risk management.
- Corporate governance and compliance with UK Company and Charity law.

What to expect from the trustee role
Our Board of trustees is responsible for the charity Oxford Archaeology, for its strategy, finances and for overseeing compliance and operations. The Board works closely with the executive team who manage a staff of over 400 people.
The Board meets formally 4-5 times a year, with additional meetings and site visits as necessary. Sub-groups of the Board may meet separately to progress specific initiatives.
Expenses are paid to Trustees to enable them to attend in person meetings.
All new trustees will receive an induction, and there are opportunities to develop a deeper understanding of the business through meetings with staff and visits to ongoing projects.

We are working in partnership with the Royal Maritime Hotel (RMH) to secure new Trustees. RMH is operated by a charitable trust, the Portsmouth Royal Maritime Club, which owns the freehold of the whole building and runs the Hotel through a limited company as a commercial business, to generate funds for its charitable work. The Club’s beneficiaries are serving and former seafarers, including members of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Merchant Fleet. However, in addition, membership of the Club is open to all serving and retired members of all the Armed Forces and their families, as well as Police, Fire and Ambulance service members, volunteers from the RNLI and members of the local community. The Club currently has over 8,000 members of whom 7,500 are serving or retired seafarers, soldiers or airmen.
The RMH is now seeking experienced and committed individuals to join its Board of Trustees to oversee strategic development and direction, making a major contribution to the future success of the organisation. The charity has identified key areas that would benefit from specific expertise and experience and candidates with these skill sets are encouraged to apply:

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:
- A commitment to the Royal Maritime Hotel and its purpose and values, and a willingness to lead according to the organisation’s traditions and values

Halfway through delivering our current organisation strategy 2023-2026, ‘Women Leading change in times of crisis’ CIUK is seeking to appoint up to four additional trustees to our Board and a new Chair of the Board of Trustees. These vacancies have arisen as current trustees and the Chair come to the end of their terms of office.
International development is a complicated environment undergoing significant change. We’re looking for people who understand this context and ideally have experience of being a charity board trustee already.
With a strong core trustee board currently in place, we are looking to bring the following skills, knowledge and experience:
· Extensive executive charity leadership experience (ideally CEO) in an international context.
· Leadership in social enterprises, government or not-for-profits, or relevant non- executive experience.
· Strategic communications experience including PR, media, corporate, social.
· Director level voluntary fundraising experience.
· Director level INGO finance experience in a highly contracted environment.
· Director level organisational development and people experience including anti-racism, feminist leadership, and safeguarding.

About the role
Solent Mind’s Board of Trustees are jointly responsible for the charity’s governance, ensuring we deliver against the organisation’s purpose, use our resources wisely and uphold our values and legal duties. Solent Mind trustees are also Directors of Solent Mind, (a company limited by guarantee and governed by company law).
As Trustee, you will join the Board of Trustees and share responsibility for the charity's overall governance. Wintercomfort is seeking to appoint new Trustees to our Board of Trustees. Wintercomfort is an advice and support hub for homeless and vulnerably housed people in Cambridge. Open daily throughout the year, we provide services to aid every stage of recovery - from immediate basic welfare needs to long-term help people overcome challenges and fulfil their potential. We offer housing and tenancy support, debt advice, support with training and employment, access to a range of mental and physical health services, a dedicated women’s programme, and extensive work to promote social inclusion.
We are looking for people to join an experienced and passionate Board of Trustees who work collaboratively in providing strategic oversight and governance of Wintercomfort, to ensure its financial stability and that it achieves its mission. You will have a strong empathy with our values and be willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and will broaden the diversity of thinking on our board.

Tom’s Trust, a children's brain tumour charity, is looking for two new trustees to join our Board.
Although our office is based in Cambridge, where we were founded and where we provided our first service, we have grown from a regional to a national charity and want our Trustee Board to reflect that. We operate a hybrid meeting approach which supports this ambition to expand our Board.
We are particularly seeking trustees in the Oxfordshire or Liverpool areas, where our newest services are based, to work with our current Trustee Board of eight who work closely with our Senior Leadership Team to provide expertise and oversight of our ambitious strategy. We recognise the need to reflect, understand, and network, in each new region for which we provide a service and want to talk to enthusiastic individuals who have the professional skills, connections and understanding to help. About Tom’s Trust
Tom's Trust is the UK's only charity dedicated to providing mental health support to children and young people, with brain and other central nervous system tumours, and their families. We believe that every child with a brain tumour should have access to the mental health support that they need, as well as their loved ones. Approximately 500 children aged 0-19 are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year. That’s nearly 10 children per week. Many children experience serious mental health issues such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression, as a result of their tumour, and 62% of children who survive a brain tumour will then live with life-long disabilities (such as blindness, hearing loss, lost motor-function or learning disabilities).
Tom’s Trust clinical psychologists support hundreds of families, working within hospitals in the East, North East, North West and now starting in Thames Valley; helping children from diagnosis, through their brutal treatment and as they return to life at home. Our team is also there to support a family if their child is dying or has sadly died from this devastating disease. It is our mission is to provide psychological support to children with brain tumours and their families in every area of the UK that needs us.
