As Chief Operating Officer, you will manage and develop the diverse business operations of the Trust.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the delivery of the ten-year plan, most significantly, a multi-year project to re-establish a new visitor centre.
- Managing a team of staff, volunteers and contractors, ensuring HR compliance, CPD and operational resilience.
- Building relationships with related charities, industry partners, trade associations, the Local Authority and other stakeholders.
- Ensuring the websites and other digital offerings provide the most effective and modern service for users.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the charity’s financial position through increased income generation.
- In close liaison with the Treasurer and Chair of Trustees, work to ensure the best possible operating position for the Trust with regard to income, costs and investment, including budgeting and forecasting.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ senior experience managing industrial and/or commercial operations, ideally within a related industry or a third-sector environment such as a charity or not-for-profit. Expertise in recognising and implementing business improvements and changes is key, as is the ability to lead a commercially focused, marketing-oriented function.
You must be confident, resilient and energetic, with proven ability to lead and engage staff and volunteers, helping them achieve their objectives. Demonstrable strength in strategic planning and driving business growth is crucial, alongside a solid understanding of key UK business practices including compliance, risk management, HR, finance, and IT.

Introduction
This is an exciting role within the Fundraising team in Wales that will enable RSPB Cymru to deliver impact. The role will primarily focus on high value including grants, charitable trusts and corporates, generating funds and support for the RSPB against annual income targets and contributing to the organisation's' purpose of saving nature. This role is home based (within Wales preferably), with travel to meetings in a range of locations and some overnight stays required.
What's the role about?
As Fundraising Officer you will be part of a busy fundraising team within RSPB Cymru, proactively researching and pursuing funding opportunities and relationships that meet the need of Wales Delivery Plan and overall strategic objectives of the RSPB.
You will work to agreed income targets, maximising funding opportunities and playing your part in delivering the agreed fundraising plan, working with a range of departments on specific projects to meet funder and project timescales.
You will be responsible for managing the delivery of funding conditions to maximise revenue and maintain positive supporter relationships. You will compile financial claims and monitor and report progress, and action needed against targets and KPIs to stakeholders to ensure appropriate oversight of income streams.
You will play a critical role in updating and utilising contact databases and CRM systems to ensure accurate records are kept to facilitate effective contact management across the organisation.
You will provide excellent customer experience to all existing and potential funders, donors and supporters to ensure ongoing relationships, future donations and support, and safeguard the RSPB's reputation and brand.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Working knowledge and application of relevant Chartered Institute of Fundraising, Fundraising Regulator and Charities Act regulations and guidelines.
- Relevant understanding of fundraising, including supporter motivations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret complex information and present it with clarity.
- Persuasive negotiator with the ability to influence.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office.
- Able to work under own initiative and prioritise work in order to get the right things done, with the confidence to ask for support and direction where needed.
- Able to develop and maintain excellent relationships with external and internal stakeholders, delivering a high level of customer service to a variety of audiences.
- Good level of numeracy; ability to analyse data, identify trends and make recommendations for change.

The Diocese is seeking a Church Building Support Officer to join our team on a fixed-term contract, to work closely with parishes to help secure sustainable futures for some of our most historic and cherished church buildings. You'll help PCCs to identify and explore complimentary non-worship uses for their buildings, helping them to become vibrant and viable centres of mission and community life. The main responsibilities of the Church Building Support Officer are:

As the Digital Data Officer reporting into the Digital Data Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and leveraging data within the Income Generation team. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our bank of casual workers as a Welfare Officer, providing cover as required for the SSAFA RAF Service across the UK.
Our Bank Welfare Officers will provide direct and impactful welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate family on an ad hoc basis when a full-time member of the team is unavailable to do so.
As a trusted and confidential source of support, you will assist our service users with challenges they are facing, from mental ill-health, difficult relationships, domestic abuse, financial and cost-of-living concerns, resettlement, housing, childcare, equality issues, bereavement, military discharge or deployment and many more - no day will be the same, as such this is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within the Welfare sector.

About you

About the role
As a key member of Acorns’ Executive Directorate, you will play a central role in shaping the organisation’s leadership and strategy. We ensure that our clients are supported to gain and retain safe, decent and affordable accommodation. A stable home is a key factor in successful rehabilitation and breaking the cycle of re-offending. We work holistically with clients, alongside multiple agencies.
Nationally we aim to influence the Government and MOJ to bring about systemic change, so that people in the criminal justice system can access better housing. We also work with housing providers and local authorities to achieve change at a local level.
About the role
You will complete an Initial Needs Assessment (INA) with each client, having a detailed discussion with them to outline their situation and the support they need. A strengths-based approach is used to identify the positive attributes that they can build upon to achieve their goals and is reflected in the design of the INA. Working together with your client, you will map out and agree a set of interventions and the outcomes needed, encouraging and empowering them to actively contribute towards their goals.
You will carry a fluctuating case load of service users with varying levels of needs. The focus of the service is to support the desistance model, supporting individuals to achieve their full potential.
The position will be based in delivery locations across North Yorkshire, with other agreed locations and travel expected when needed across the National Probation Service Region.
About You
You have considerable experience of advocating for clients to agencies and authorities and have a track record of successful outcomes and challenging when needed. You can adapt complex information into practical plans and proactively manage your caseload.
