In 2024, Tower Hamlets received Trailblazer funding to develop and implement new models of community-based mental health care that integrate clinical and voluntary sector provision, in line with  The Community Mental Health Framework.

The Tower Hamlets Mental Health Alliance (THMHA) was formed two years ago to create a bold new community-based mental health support service for Tower Hamlets residents. THMHA consists of 18 Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise Sector (VCFSE) service providers that have come together in partnership. The primary criterion for membership is that the organisation either specialises in mental health support or has a significant and growing focus on mental health in its work. Mind in Tower Hamlets, Newham, and Redbridge is a member of this alliance.

Alongside THMHA members, Look Ahead, and East London Foundation Trust, we are implementing a new community-based, 24/7 mental health care system that prioritises the tailored needs of individuals facing mental health challenges. The goal is to provide support in a non-hospital setting, preventing the need for more intensive interventions in the future.

Coproduction and Community Engagement (CCE) Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring the services at the Barnsley Street Project are designed and delivered in true partnership with the local community. This role is particularly focused on minoritised and underrepresented groups, ensuring their voices are central to service development. The ideal candidate will be passionate about inclusive service design, community engagement, and mental health equity. You will work closely with clients, carers, and community partners to create a responsive and culturally competent service that meets the needs of Tower Hamlets' diverse population.

About the roles:

Camden’s Integrated Drug and Alcohol service is offering an incredible opportunity for individuals with lived experience of homelessness and/or substance use to join a pioneering team supporting others in their recovery journey. With one year of funding secured, we are seeking two passionate and dynamic individuals to take on specialist roles, based at both treatment sites and within Camden hostels. These roles will also involve working alongside the In-reach team and the Specialist Women’s team, allowing you to make a tangible impact on the lives of clients by helping to shape and enhance services for those who need them most. Room to Heal is looking for a Co-Director for Finance & Fundraising to work with our Co-Director for Frontline Operations to support the thriving of our community.

Room to Heal is an established therapeutic community in London. We support refugees and people seeking asylum, many of whom are torture survivors, through an integrated programme of therapeutic and casework assistance, in the context of a community of survivors. Our approach recognises the political context of our community members’ multiple and ongoing experiences of trauma and marginalisation including in their home country, on their journey to, and within, the UK. We offer long term and holistic support.

We are looking for a Co-Director who:

• Will ensure the overall financial sustainability of the charity through development of the fundraising strategy and oversight of its implementation
• Understands the experiences of our members in order to sustain Room to Heal’s therapeutic community and ensure the safety and appropriateness of all of our services
• Has awareness and interest in psychotherapy and group work
• Makes strategic decisions that centre the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum alongside maintaining the sustainability of the organisation
• Has the drive, care and vision to create new opportunities to support refugees and people seeking asylum and to learn and share experiences through external networks and partnerships in the UK and internationally

Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) has secured funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to expand the Thrive Together programme (formerly VPPP) across the South East. This initiative connects veterans' support agencies, ensuring seamless pathways, safe spaces for veterans, and training for volunteers and staff working in veterans' mental health. They are now seeking a Families & Carers Outreach Officer to explore the challenges of reaching out to families and carers of veterans to improve the way that this support can be delivered.

VOS is an award-winning charity that offers welfare, wellbeing and mental health support and services to veterans of the UK Armed Forces and Merchant Navy in Portsmouth, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight. VOS provide a drop-in model of support, a welfare advice service, peer-supported wellbeing activities and social groups, with access to psychology, psychiatry, and therapy services.

The Families & Carers Outreach Officer will collaborate with the Thrive Together Portfolio Manager and VOS team to identify and improve outreach to families and carers of veterans, many of whom may not know they’re entitled to support.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience with identifying, planning, running, and evaluating pilot projects, research groups, and focus groups, while managing timelines. 
• Skills in sharing learnings and recommendations based on feedback, creating ways to measure service effectiveness, and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
• Comfortable working with diverse communities, understanding their needs, and building solid relationships. Knowledge of or experience with the UK veteran community would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Experienced in planning and leading community workshops, guiding discussions, and encouraging participation from group members.
• Awareness of the specific communication and engagement needs relevant to the group or community you are working with, including cultural understanding of diverse family dynamics and considerations that may impact service delivery.

Our Service Transformation Lead is instrumental in enabling us to meet this aim, by delivering a transformational shift in how people affected by blood cancer become aware of, access and trust the portfolio of valued products and services we provide. 

This is a relatively new role – the permanent post holder has held the role for two months and laid some foundations, and is now looking for a 13-month maternity cover. The Mental Health Foundation is recruiting for a Mental Health Workshop Lead to support delivery of our Family Zone project running in Southwark. This is a contractor position for 12 weeks, working 1 to 2 days per week, from the middle of May. There is the potential to continue for a further 12-14-week period in the autumn.

Family Zone in Southwark will benefit approximately 100-125 members of families where at least one parent has a diagnosed mental health problem. We have successfully delivered a pilot group and will continue to deliver additional groups throughout 2025 with a plan to continue in 2026. Each group programme will consist of ten, weekly after-school workshops lasting two hours in person (3 sessions) or one hour online (7 sessions) and the workshop lead will be expected to jointly plan and deliver these sessions leading on the parental discussions. The workshop lead will also be responsible for leading the parent only discussions during 7 on-line sessions which will run at a different time.

What does the role involve?

• Jointly plan the delivery of the family workshops leading on the psycho education element in the sessions. (10 sessions)
• Lead on the planning and delivery of 7 parent-only sessions.
• Keep a record of key issues discussed in each group, any significant incidents that occur, and any positive or negative feedback from the group for discussion with the Programme Lead - Families Children & Young People.

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?

• Professional qualification or significant experience in a related field such as psychotherapy/counselling.
• Demonstrable group facilitation skills and the ability to lead with a non-judgemental attitude, understanding the potential impact of different mental health difficulties on other group members.
• Experience of working with families in a mental health capacity.

The Role

Staffordshire Wildlife Trust had an income of £4.7m in year ending March 2024, and this has grown again in the last 12 months. To push ahead with the Trust’s vital work to restore the natural environment across Staffordshire, and to meet the strategic goals by 2030, the Trust needs to increase its revenue substantially.

You’ll be leading a dedicated fundraising and communications team currently made up of 10 staff but set to grow. This position is a new one, and one of the key recommendations of a fundraising research assignment conducted at the end of 2024. 

The Head of Fundraising and Development will report to the Chief Executive and be a member of the Senior Leadership Team. 

Key tasks include:

• Develop and implement a five-year fundraising strategy

• Develop a fundraising culture across the Trust 

• Co-develop bottom-up, evidence-led income forecasts with your team and relevant Senior Leadership Team members

• Take overall responsibility for all fundraising

• Oversee the exploration of new income generating opportunities 

• Oversee the management of all fundraising systems/processes (fundraising database and financial information)

• Be responsible for all internal and external communications

About You

The Head of Fundraising and Development role is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and innovative fundraising professional to develop and deliver a comprehensive fundraising strategy. You will be an effective leader, comfortable delegating authority in areas where you have less expertise to the experts in your team.

An inspiring leader, you will have exceptional people management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.  You should be willing to work flexibly as your team requires it, this may involve working at events outside of normal hours to support your team.

You will have experience of:

• Growing voluntary income in charities across a range of channels

• Developing, implementing and evaluating strategy across a range of income streams will be business as usual for you.

Your experience should be heavily-weighted towards fundraising rather than communications, although an understanding of communications and how it supports fundraising, is essential.

Ramblers walk leadership programme increases the skills and confidence of people from diverse backgrounds to lead walks, enabling more people to benefit from group walks. As a member of the Programmes team, the Programme Lead (Walk Leadership) will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of the programme across GB.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on the design, development and operational delivery of the Walk Leadership programme across GB.
• Create operational delivery plans – to identify milestones, monitor risks, resolve issues and manage resource requirements.
• Design and develop resources and processes to support programme implementation.
• Be responsible for managing a budget in line with programme goals and objectives.
• Be responsible for evaluation and reporting, to ensure the programme meets KPIs and delivers measurable impact.
• Manage new and existing strategic partnerships with partner organisations and those working to reduce barriers to becoming active outdoors.
• Develop a network of walk leader volunteers – ensuring that appropriate systems, processes and support is in place.
• Work with partners to train and support walk leaders, and to promote the programme more widely.
• Engage diverse audiences from communities facing additional barriers to getting outdoors, to senior stakeholders including funders and other strategic external partners.
• Directly deliver some Walk Leadership events to support the continued development and co-production of the programme.
• Work closely with Nations Directors, Community Development Officers and the Fundraising team to secure the support required to sustain and grow the programme.
• Ensure robust risk management systems are in place to ensure the safety of participants.
• Ensure programme compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
• Review the programme annually to identify lessons learned or areas for development to drive continuous improvement.

• Work collaboratively as a member of the Programmes team, to share learning and develop innovative practice in programme design and development.
• Engage and proactively develop excellent working relationships across the organisation
• Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required of the post.

The person

Knowledge and Experience

• Programme management experience – including responsibility for planning, budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation.
• Experience recruiting and managing partners, contractors and volunteers.
• Experience designing and delivering a training programme – working with participants to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Experience of successfully working with fundraising colleagues to secure funding to sustain and scale a programme.
• Knowledge of the outdoor recreation sector and potential barriers to participation.
• Experience managing relationships with strategic stakeholders.
• Walk Leader qualification (Lowland Leader Award or higher) or experience – especially in walking, group leadership and risk management.

Programme Coordinator 

We are recruiting for a Programme Coordinator, who will support the delivery of the Maternity Neonatal Voices Partnership project.

Position: Programme Coordinator (Maternity Voices Partnership)

Location: Remote/covering Birmingham and Solihull

Hours: Full time role covering 2 MNVP areas (BSOL) or 2 part time roles of 18.5 hours each available

Contract: Fixed term contract until 30th June 2026

Salary: £26,272 per annum pro rata

The Role

The organisation is responsible for delivery of MNVPs for both Birmingham and Solihull ICB. Travelling is required to engage and meet with service user reps, leads and relevant stakeholders.  Part time applicants will be assigned specific trust to work within (again travel will be required within the specified area).  Some level of cover will also be required across the 2 areas in cases of absence, annual leave etc. 

This is a fixed term role which will involve supervision and line management of a team of volunteers, leads and delivery of the MNVP forums and associated activities as well as supporting the administration of the contract.

Main activities within the role include: 

• Recruitment of MNVP members and volunteers

• Build strong working relationships with commissioners, partners and local parents and families

• Ensure parent and families views are fed back in a clear, understandable matter to commissioners

• Production of a range of reports including data to senior managers and commissioners

• Active use of Social Media to engage with service users and partners including managing meetings via these channels

• Coproduction of communications with Local Maternity Neonatal Systems ensuring service users views are listened to and included in actions

• Attendance at a range of meetings with stakeholders and partners

• Active engagement with other MNVP Forums across the country including through the use of social media

About You

You must have the natural ability to build effective relationships, be approachable and have an outgoing personality as well as being IT literate and a good communicator at all levels.  Experience of working with midwifery services is helpful as is knowledge of MNVP priorities and aims. 

Applicants for this post must be willing to work flexible hours based around the needs of the service and travel to a range of locations across Birmingham and Solihull. This role does have elements of remote 

working.
