We are looking for someone who has experience of supervising staff or volunteers and would like to move into a Supervising Advocate role

This position will be split between two services, 4 days at "Wandsworth and Richmond" and the remaining day at "South London and Maudsley"

Advocacy is having someone by your side, and on your side, when you want to be more involved in decisions about your care, treatment and living arrangements. An advocate can stand by you, and stand up for you, when important decisions are being made about your care, treatment and the way you live your life. They can help you understand your rights and options, and then support you in expressing your views and wishes to the relevant services. They can also speak up on your behalf if that’s what you want. People often work with an advocate when they’re going through some kind of assessment or review of their care or treatment.

How you will make a difference

As well as providing independent advocacy and holding a caseload, I will provide line management to a team of multi-disciplinary advocates within the service. I will provide leadership and management support to that team and be accountable for motivating them to deliver a high-quality service, whilst working to maintain the Advocacy Quality Performance Mark standards. I will support advocates to be accountable for managing the day-to-day delivery of advocacy to their clients, ensuring they take responsibility for managing their caseload and delivering positive outcomes for clients accessing the service. I will lead the team to ensure Rethink CARES is embedded in the service and in the delivery of the service to ensure a positive working culture is maintained.

 • All staff and volunteers within the service
 • Service users and user groups
 • Community partners and voluntary sector groups
 • Strategic partners within the local authority and NHS Trust
 • Staff across all Rethink Advocacy services

We are looking for someone on a 2 year fixed term contract to support CCT, as we engage in a programme of significant digital change, with our core information management systems under active review and development. The Compliance officer will be instrumental in ensuring CCT complies with best practice in relation to the storage and use of people’s personal information, ensuring compliance with the relevant GDPR regulations and will also be responsible for ensuring that the CCT’s policies and procedures are compliant with the relevant Government Functional Standards as well as following good practice in relation to its governance policies and procedures.

The post holder will work with every team, at all levels across CCT, to help embed a risk-based approach to data protection and decision-making, championing both the intent of data protection law and effective operational outcomes; adopting best recommended practice where there is ambiguity about minimal compliance requirements.

About the Investment Team

The Investment Team is responsible for selecting charity partners, managing our charity investments and supporting our charity partners to improve and scale their impact.

The Investment Team also leads the Impetus Leadership Academy, a leadership development programme to support talent from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK youth sector to progress into senior leadership roles.

The team is made up of 18 people, including former teachers, charity chief executives, charity impact leads, management consultants, social investment portfolio managers and impact consultants.

The team is led by a Portfolio Director who sits on the Senior Management Team. The Portfolio Director has 5 direct reports: a Deputy Portfolio Director, three Sector Leads (who lead our work in School engagement, School attainment and Employment Sectors) and an Impact Lead. Sector Leads line manage 6 Investment Directors. Investment Directors line manage Investment Managers (currently 5). Investment Directors and Investment Managers tend to primarily focus on a sector but might have mixed portfolios, depending on need, experience and interest.

The Investment Team has a good track record of role progression. All four Leads and a number of our Investment Directors were promoted from within the team.

Job description – Investment Director

The Investment Director (ID) is a key member of the Investment Team, playing a leading role in identifying, assessing, and supporting portfolio partner charities and other non-profit organisations to deepen their impact and scale their outcomes. This role works closely with other Investment Directors and Investment Managers to deliver external facing support to portfolio partners as well as internal projects to support the development of the investment model and portfolio strategy.

Investment Directors use strategic thinking, analytical rigour, and senior relationship skills to support a portfolio of amazing organisations that, together, will help shift the life chances and outcomes of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the UK.

Key responsibilities

Finding high potential charities and non-profit partners for our portfolio

• Identifying potential charitable organisations for investment.
• Leading in-depth due diligence process to assess and build partnership foundations with potential partners – covering leadership and governance, and their impact, scale, and partnership potential.
• Modelling from first contact of origination, our approach to engaged and trust-based investment management support.
• Developing and championing high quality investment propositions to our Investment Committee.

Managing partnerships with portfolio partners

• Managing relationships with partner Chairs and CEOs 
• Agreeing Service Funding Agreements, including appropriate annual investment milestones to allow for a clear assessment of re-investment potential at end of phase 
• Regularly monitoring and assessing partner progress / risks against milestones and making recommendations for progression or exit
• Escalating key risks on performance, leadership and safeguarding
• Conducting annual partnership review with Sector Leads and partner CEOs
• Working with Impetus Finance colleagues to ensure timely distribution of grant payments, in line with Service Funding Agreements.

Supporting portfolio partners

• Providing direct support to CEOs and senior colleagues on key strategic topics, using a mix of at least monthly one-to-one meetings and group facilitation to:
  • clarify theory of change
  • define long term ambition
  • develop growth strategy
  • achieve a step change in the delivery and performance management of outcomes
  • strengthen leadership (individual and collective) and governance capabilities

• Scoping and project managing pro bono capacity-building projects (in addition to providing direct management support). Ensure projects are delivered to a high standard and contribute to charity progression

• Collaborating with Impetus philanthropy team to develop new funding streams (additional to direct Impetus grant funding) that support our partners’ ability to deliver impact at scale

Job Purpose

We have an opportunity to fill a brand-new role within our charity for our new perinatal project supporting the partners of birthing parents.

We are looking for an outreach worker, to work alongside colleagues in the Perinatal Mental Health Service team at West London NHS Trust to:

• Identify and provide support for adult non-birthing parents, where the birthing parent is open to WLNT PMHS.
• Provide individual assessments, peer support groups and signposting to partners.
• Promote the mental health and well-being of partners/significant others.
• Provide information to partners/significant others on how they can support the mental health and well-being of the birthing parent and other members of their family e.g. other children.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals as agreed with the HFEH Mind Service Manager.
• Work with the West London NHS Trust Perinatal Mental Health team to promote the Perinatal Support for Partners service and create marketing materials.
• To manage the service inbox which may contain enquiries from referrers.
• To identify partners of the birthing parents and inform them of the service.
• To conduct assessments with said partners.
• Signpost to other relevant services, taking into account the partners’ holistic needs.
• Develop a resource collecting local referral and signposting opportunities relevant to the service user group.
• Keep up to date about current best practices and legislation within mental health, as well as within the field of perinatal mental health.
• Provide updates and feedback to the broader HFEH Mind team and West London NHS Trust Perinatal Mental Health Service team.
• To record details of all client referrals and contacts to ensure client information is kept up to date.
• Record the results of outcome assessments and satisfaction surveys on the database.

About the Role:

In this role, you will drive the production and analysis of the quarterly restricted funding KPI reports, use your analytical expertise to ensure data quality and accuracy, and identify opportunities to improve our restricted funding management information tools. You will also contribute to the socialisation of our underlying restricted funding business process, in collaboration with the wider team and the WaterAid Programme System team.

You'll also:

• Lead on the bi-annual development, production and detailed analysis of restricted funding Key Performance Indicator reports (KPIs) for restricted income generation and management with support from the Power Bi team and liaising with key stakeholders.
• Support the Head of PFP in funding data analysis for board reports and adhoc reporting requests.
• Lead on the production of restricted funding reports to support the organisational performance framework and/or as required to improve visibility and accountability of restricted funding performance
• Lead on identifying restricted funding data quality checks and controls to ensure WAPS restricted funding data is as clean as possible and liaise with the relevant WAPS team lead to support on regular data audits.
• Regular review and refresh of restricted funding management information tools to ensure they are useful and innovative.
• Ensure business processes for restricted income generation and management are up to date and inclusive of any new best practice approaches such as cost recovery and co-financing management initiatives
• Ensure all RFP training documents/guides contain up to date WaterAid Programme System (WAPS) references to reflect any changes in system protocols.

The Role

What will I be doing?

• Provide key support to the Governance, Audit & Risk Manager on the IOP’s governance programme, including the organisation of Council Meetings and Core Governance Committee meetings, and the distribution of agendas and papers on the IOP’s Board Portal
• Be a key point of contact for the IOP’s Trustees and Committee Members, providing support and maintaining trustee information
• Support with the IOP’s annual Council Elections and AGM
• Support with the smooth running of the Group Internal Audit Programme
• Support the Compliance & Data Protection Manager with managing compliance with key policies and procedures.

Projects you work on may include:

• Quarterly Council and Committee Meetings, including one Council meeting held elsewhere in the UK
• Preparation or the IOP’s Annual Council Elections Process, whereby new trustees are elected by the IOP membership each year
• Helping with the IOP’s Annual General Meeting, including the preparation of the member notice and voting materials and ensuring the event runs smoothly on the day
• Five Internal Audits per year, determined by the Group Audit & Risk Committee
