· Prioritise referrals, manage work allocations and ensure effective deployment of the workers to ensure service users receive a timely and effective service.
· Ensure all appropriate staff development and core training requirements are fulfilled in the team and contribute to wider training plans for the locality. - Respond appropriately to any safeguarding concerns, demonstrating an understanding of, and always complying with Family Action’s and Gloucestershire procedures for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. What could my day look like?

Job description
1. Organisational leadership and people management

Work with the ED and SMT to ensure a values-led and positive organisational culture is reflected throughout ways of working, internal communication, policies and processes, and all team activities.

Line-manage Senior Management Team (SMT) members, operational roles and other roles as necessary (currently Head of Development, Head of Communications and Engagement, Head of Policy, Advocacy and Research, and Operations Manager).

Chair weekly SMT meetings.

Oversee human resources and people management processes, ensuring alignment with best practice in areas including recruitment, induction, performance management, safety, wellbeing, learning and development, and benefits.

Ensure diversity, inclusion and equity (DEI) considerations are at the forefront of all work and decisions, working alongside our expert DEI Consultant.

Oversee the bi-annual, in-person team retreat.

- Annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasting and monitoring.

The service will provide opportunities to gain confidence and improve orientation and mobility for people who are vision impaired and living in Barrow-in-Furness. In addition there will be a weekly walking group. All of ths will help adults with vision impairments to feel more confident making short and purposeful journeys independently and improve health and fitness through the walking group. Volunteers will provide much of the one-to-one support to service users with the guidance of this post-holder.
This post-holder will be supported by an expert team of Volunteer Officer, Engagement Officer and a Service Manager with a proven track record in outdoor activities.
We are looking for a high energy, highly organised, person-centred individual with an optimistic attidue and an ability to flex to changing needs.
